The Dungeon Struggle Of An Earth Dragon! - Chapter 4
Chapter 4: I can’t find the crows nest even if I try really hard to look for it.
What’s over here.
Let’s go over there.
I tried walking for a while, but there’s nothing here.
As far as I can see, there’s only rock, more rock and sometimes thedesert.
It’s brown as far as the eyes can see.
There’s no such thing as green here.
There are birds and dragons flying but there’s no living being on the ground.
At first, I thought those flying guys will come and attacked me but my worries were for naught.
There’s no sign of them trying to attack even as I turn around.
It’s maybe because of my body colour.
My brown skin does look similar to the soil.
Perhaps, it’s some sort of protective colouration. If you look at me from the above, I just blend into the ground.
It’s my natural wit of survival.
This is thanks to my mother (dragon) who I never met.
For the time being, knowing there’s no harm, I walk around with ease.
My immediate goal is to find and secure a cave as a bed.
Even if I indeed have become a dragon, I still want my own bed.
Wandering around, I picked up rocks here and there.
Crunch Crunch Crunch.
Delicious.
Unn. This is so good.
The piercing light coming from both of the suns shines on me.
But strangely enough, I don’t feel hot.
Well, I am a dragon.
My skin is probably thick.
Being a dragon sure is handy.
Then several hours later.
As I continue walking, I discovered something.
What is that?
I have seen it before on the top of the tree as well as on the telephone pole during my past life.
It looks like a bowl made out of tree branches stacked together.
It’s a bird nest, right?
The bird’s nest is on the top of the big rock. It could probably see everything from up there.
More than anything else, it is so big.
It’s as if the perspective itself had distorted.
Let’s stop thinking about it.
I think its size is probably about 10 metres.
Un. It definitely is big
I look around restlessly.
Yup. Their parents are not here.
What a big bird’s nest.
That means the parents must also be big.
Well, the stupidly big black bird that was fighting with the huge white dragon earlier might be on its way here already.
Or maybe, it’s perhaps my nest.
Should I move closer?
Out of curiosity, I decided to approach the nest.
Trembling. I climb the rock.
Thanks to my sharp claws and suction-like palms, I manage to climb it with ease.
Speaking of which, I saw it on TV before that the reason why a gecko can climb a gla.s.s case is that they have cilia on their palms which allow them to stick on the surface they touched. Its something like that, I think.
I don’t know the details.
Is it the same?
Whatever.
I can climb it.
Let’s stop thinking too hard.
I’ve reached the top.
Excuse my intrusion.
Piiiii! Piii!
Pichuuu! Piiichu!
Pi! Pi!
So loud!
These birds cry is ear-deafening.
Un. Well, I did hear their crow cry while I was climbing here.
d.a.m.n, so noisy.
Before my eyes is a flock of big black birds almost the same size as me. Their look similar to that of a crow.
They’re probably chicks since their wings are still small.
But I never heard of a meter length chick before.
There’s three of them.
As for the egg that hasn’t hatched yet One, two six.
A total nine of them.
Well, do I also need to include the egg?
Not realizing I was here, they’re rolling the eggs while making a fuss of it.
What are those guys trying to do?
It concerns me, the one who was watching it.
A chick slowly rolled the egg to the edge of the nest.
Oioi, there’s no way right
Then it swings its short front leg
Piiiii! Pichu!
There’s no way that just happened.
It kicked it! It kicked the egg!
I have yet to be born, my brothers!
According to the law of universal gravitation, the egg will fall down straight to the ground.
CRACK!
The gooey egg white and yellow yolk overflow from the broken egg that just crashed into the ground.
Pippippi!
Pi~! Pi~!
Pichun! Pichu!
Those chicks were happily watching it.
Those guys What a thing to do!
Without them being noticed of me, I slowly got off the rock while suppressing the feeling boiling inside me.
At maximum speed, as fast as possible.
Without being noticed by anyone.
Descending to the ground, I approached the egg.
A new life was supposed to be born out of it.
However, it cracks miserably without ever coming true,
Yahooo! Protein GET!!
I’ve always been a fan of raw eggs ever since long time ago.
Serve it over rice, sprinkle with soy sauce and eat it just like that.
This is justice.
There’s no rice but this is fine.
I licked the egg excitedly.
Lick Lick Lick
It really is delicious!
Eeh? Pity?
There’s no such thing as that.
It’s because I am a dragon.
After that, several more falls to the ground and all of them were delicious.
