The Dungeon Struggle Of An Earth Dragon! - Chapter 8
Chapter 8: I am not insensitive! I just didn’t realize I’m making a maze.
I wonder how long has it been?
I don’t remember how many days have pa.s.sed since I decided to withdraw underground.
Actually, to tell you the truth, it’s frustrating to count the days for a month or so.
In this world, there’s no clock or calendar.
You can only tell the time by looking at the position of the sun.
However, it isnt accurate.
So, it’s natural to lose track of time with it.
The people in the past are truly amazing.
It’s common for me to wake up from a nap and realize it’s already morning.
As you would expect, there’s no holiday.
In my early days as hikikomori, I always look outside from the peephole I’ve made at the entrance once a day.
While doing so, I will place a stone, which has been sc.r.a.ped off using my fang, near the entrance as a calendar.
Repeating the cycle of peeking outside and placing a stone in the course of a day, I tried to maintain my biological clock. However, as I ate more and more soil and got deeper into the layer of earth, it became a ha.s.sle for me to return to the entrance. That’s why at the end of the day, I quit.
Aah, you’re such a useless person. Wait, I’m not saying it’s your fault dragon me.
Stop pointing fingers.
That’s because no matter how much I dig, it basically never end!
It’s delicious!
I can’t stop digging!
I want to eat more!
I couldn’t help myself!
So, while I was eating, I’ve noticed two things.
First, the simplicity of the taste.
The deeper the soil is, the delicious it becomes.
Or more umami should I say?
But what happened to the soil and nutrient inside it?
Anyway, digging forward, the taste and quality of the soil improved as I get deeper into underground.
Next is the gem, or the gemstone to be exact.
The more I dig, the more was discovered.
Among them, there’s even my favourite gemstone like ruby, sapphire, emerald and diamond.
There are also other minerals too but since I’m not very knowledgeable about it, I don’t know what they are called. As I keep digging, I found more of them.
Crunch Crunch
They are delicious.
Ordinary soil and rocks are considerably tasty but they are nothing when compared to the gemstone.
It’s surely is nutritious for the dragon. Eating crystal ore is much better.
Also, each time I eat the gemstone I can feel some kind of power flowing inside me.
For example.
If I eat ruby, it will make my body warmer.
If I eat sapphire, it will make my body cooler.
If I eat emerald, it will make my body feels lighter.
Something along like that.
The other crystal ore is quite delicious too.
Well, doing such thing as digging and eating, my home now had turned into a wonderful place.
Although it’s not as good as the mansion, I have no problem with it.
First of all, the floor.
For now, it only has 10 level but there will be expansion in the future.
It’s about 100 metres below the ground.
Doing it my way, I have the entire place expand after digging at a certain depth.
Each floor is roughly the size of school ground.
Instead of one big room, it’s divided into several smaller rooms.
Otherwise, the ground will become loose and collapse.
I never thought my knowledge in construction from my previous life will come in handy in a place like this.
That’s because when I was still a corporate slave, I was hammered with design knowledge like an idiot
I didn’t think it was useful.
But still, theres some part which reasonably well made.
If anything, it’s now better than mole hole or ant nest.
It’s my home so I have the entire place memorized. However, without doubt, it will be complicated if some unknown guy entered and got lost in here.
I feel nostalgic thinking back when I said 3LDK.
Dig, dig, eat, eat. Before I realized it, I’ve built such a fine home.
Tehee~
In addition, I made some interior on every floor.
It’s a stone statue made by rock carving.
Besides eating and digging, living underground without entertainment, I thought there’s nothing I can do about it but then I start making the stone statue.
This is surprisingly fun.
At first, I couldn’t carve the rock that well and made some failures.
But then, as I was making it, I figured the trick and began to make various shapes from it.
I did human-shape, quadruped like dog and dragon that look just like me.
There’s also snake-shape, cat and even more. To make it look real life, I embedded gemstone into its eyes socket.
By the way, right now I’m challenging myself to create stone statue similar to Senju Kannon.
The size of it is 8 metres tall which almost the same height as the floor.
It’s the largest stone statue ever.
I also used plenty of mineral and gemstone for details. As a result, it looks very great and delicious after it was finished.
I’m surprised by how enthusiastic I am.
However, before I knew it, the recently placed stone statue was moved to another place.
Did I unconsciously move them?
TLs Note:
1. 3LDK Apartment with 3 rooms, a living/ dining room and a kitchen.
2. Senju Kannon is basically a thousand arms Buddha statue.
