The Dungeons Endless Predicament - Volume 1 Chapter 18 Practicing And
(Good now with all that I want bought it’s time to start practicing)
The next three days went past in both an eventful but also a bit dull way. After John bought his Aura techniques he began first by reading all of them from start to finish. Of the three the Virulent Healing technique was the most difficult to practice but also helped John to familiarize himself with his body. After arriving to this world Johns body had somehow not only healed of all his previous ailments and scars but also become younger. He now looked as if he was about 14 to 15 but was in truth about 12. Due to practicing the VHT he had began to see some of the other less obvious changes to his body.
The way he found one these changes was when he tried to practice the VHT by putting a small cut on his finger using a sharp rock and then healing it with the technique as an experiment to see if it would work. The results was that before he could even begin the flow method the cut had already healed. This had to be because of his rather ridiculous vitality. After this Liz came out of meditation and told him they would be going up to the ground floor.
The ground level of the ruins were rather over grown but not all that different from the upper floors. The soil was a dark brown and many plants grew in the area. Liz helped him to find those that would be edible and how to find those that would easily kill a normal human. She actually suggested that I eat one of the less harmful ones to see how my body handled it but that was vetoed without hesitation.
After finding some easy to eat plants like what looked like a mini lettuce and some fruits that looked like oranges but blue. The lettuce tasted sweet and the fruit tasted like a cross between a strawberry and an apple but with the texture of an normal citrus fruit.
After a good meal John began his practice with the Light strike style. The technique was a foundation technique so it had many diagrams of the body detailing the best places to strike. The two kinds of places that the technique focused on was places with either bones without a lot of tissue protection like the shins and collar bone or places with lots of soft tissue like the abdomen. The technique was hard to practice due to having to both move the body and flow your energy at the same time. After practicing till Liz called him saying that they should eat dinner. After the meal John felt as if he was completely rested.
It wouldn’t be good to over exert himself even with his body apparently having super healing. With nothing better to do he practiced the Law Eating method but felt like he wouldn’t get any where for the time.
The next day was much the same but with him practicing the Stone Armor technique. It was also hard to get used to moving with the armor but was easier than having to constantly flow Aura in his body.
During his practice Liz had made it to the 5th level and would likely reach the 6th by the end of the last day.
John had also managed to make some progress with his cultivation and would be able to advance in a few more days. As he was thinking of what he could do to make the trip easier finally remembered that he had gotten an accompanying method called the Void Eater method.
He checked the message function and tried pressing on the name of the method and a tablet popped out of the screen. The tablet was made of a black material that was smooth to the touch and held a faint warmth but had no glossy texture so it couldn’t be made of obsidian. He had no idea how to read the tablet since it had no words on it.
“Liz how do I read this method it has no words.”
“Oh that’s a special reading tablet. You need to use your mental strength to read it since it makes use of memory inscription. Be careful it wouldn’t be good for you to faint again.”
“Got it.”
John with more than a little care tried to expand his thoughts to the stone. Luckily no problems came up with the reading. The method detailed a way to better absorb energy from the surrounding area. The method had levels and stages to that corresponded with what he knew of the cultivation systems. The mortal stage part of the method was focused on increasing the rate of ambient energy absorption and helping to settle the body into that new energy. This would definitely increase the rate at which he grew.
The last day he and Liz stayed in the ruins he had managed to break into the second level of the mortal stage. With this new advancement John felt as if he had gained the same level of strength of someone who had trained for ten times the length he did.
(I think I’m starting to see why Liz said that the feeling of power was addictive.)
