The Dungeons Endless Predicament - Volume 1 Chapter 3 A Lizard?
“Aah… What? What happened”
The first thing John felt as he woke up was cold. The air he was breathing in was cold and icy. As John looked at his surrounding he was astonished to see a winter sky with wispy clouds and sunlight that just doesn’t give enough warmth. He was sitting on a cold concrete like stone with an odd metallic sheen to it. After looking out to his right and left he could see many great towers of stone like the one he was in spread out into the distance with each floor of supported by four pillars on each corner with a few others in different areas just like the one he was sitting in. He was in one of the tallest of these towers and seemed to be near the top floor and could see some stares a couple dozen feet away.
“Where on Earth am I?” Panic and confusion was starting to set in on John along with a horrible sense of foreboding. He looked at himself and found that instead of his usual T-shirt and shorts he was in a pure white robe that felt like it was made of layered nylon. It felt comfortable even if a bit strange.
“Seems like your finally up.” A feminine voice with a slight bit of annoyance sounded from behind John causing him to turn around only to see nothing but more stone and sky.
“Look a little lower would ya.” Following the sound of the voice John saw a cute lizard on the ground. It was as long as his fore arm and colored black with with the occasional red scale here or there. The lizard had white claws and strong legs with a slightly grey underbelly. But what was most striking was its clear and intelligent deep blue eyes that were looking right up at Johns face.
“Did, Did you just talk?”
“Yep and nice to meet you. By the way whats your name?”
“John Cantwell” John responded as he felt like his world view was scrunched up into a ball and violently kicked off the edge of the tower.
“Good and lets get along ’cause we’ll be around each other for a long time. Also welcome to the great ruins of the forgotten lands.”
