The Elemental Lovers [Completed] - zzzChapter 30
I was looking at Dylan who was retreating from me. I was clawing my way at him as the storm vapor was holding me away from him. How did it happen anyway? It must be magic or something as I was trying to go to Dylan.
“I love you!” I shouted before Dylan was turning to look at me, his eyes were glowing but he did not frighten me. I wanted to be in his arms because I felt safe.
I never felt safe in anyone’s arms before.
“And I love you too, Daisy Dyer, my love,” I read his lips moving before he was offering himself to the storm. I was shaking before I was going to Dylan. He can be stubborn when he wanted to. I know that for the last 2 years since I worked with him. And now, I will make sure that he will not be that way again.
“Let me go, I command you!” I said before the storm was not moving. Then, slowly, it started to get away from me before I was looking at Dylan. I wanted to reach him right now and as on cue, the storm was bringing me to him. I was surprised before I was looking at him. I was in front of Dylan before he was startled to see me.
“Daisy, what are you—”
“I’m pregnant!” I shouted before I was pulling him to kiss him. I don’t want him to protest and so I was taking his mind off me before I was gripping his hair. I don’t know what happened but I heard some voice in my mind.
‘The heir is in place. She is worthy,’
‘She is the one,’
‘She will be our queen,’
I was afraid of the voice before Dylan was kissing me fervently. I was gripping him until I don’t know when did we were on the ground. How did we get to the ground? I was pushing Dylan to the ground as my hormones were pushing on me to take him, to have my way with him.
“God, you’re my savior now,” Dylan said as I was looking into his eyes. He was smiling at me before he was caressing my hips. I was smiling at him before I heard some shouting. I saw the researchers were coming before I was off from Dylan and we stood up.
“Are you sure you okay? Is the baby harmed?” He asked as he was putting his large hand on my stomach. I smiled at him before I nodded. I know that Dylan would be a good husband but I don’t want him to be obliged to marry me because I had his baby.
“We’ll talk about it later,” he whispered before he was pulling me to meet with the team. Chris Yang was looking at us before I was smiling at them.
“God, I think I might die from heartbreak later,” Chris said before I laughed. I was holding to Dylan before he asked us to be carried to the hospital. Chris nodded before we were on the back of the van, with Dylan’s hand around my shoulder and pulled me to his side. I was leaning against him and nothing never felt safe more than this.
I was indeed not pregnant. But I swear that I was as I was late on my period. But disappointment was coming into my face as I was leaving the doctor’s room. Dylan was sitting in the waiting area before I walked to him.
“Are you okay?” He asked me before I was looking at him. He was concerned but I know that if I told him that I don’t have his baby, he would go away. So I just cried and sobbed in front of him before he was pulling me to him.
“Hey, what’s wrong?” He asked me before I was shaking my head. I don’t think that I would be vulnerable right now but I think I know why.
I wanted Dylan Windell to be my husband.
I was sobbing on his chest as I was gripping his collar. He soothed me before I was being dragged out of the hospital and Chris Yang was coming at us.
“How did it go?” He asked as I was silent before I was gripping Dylan’s hand. He squeezed it before he looked at Chris and said the words that made my heart soared.
“We need to get out of the expedition. The storm was a traumatic experience for Daisy and I don’t want Lucia to be a fuss about it,” Dylan said before Chris was nodding at us and we were out of the hospital area before I was being tucked under Dylan’s safe arms.
The day passed by like anything else. I was not in the mood to talk as Dylan was driving in his truck. Our equipment was in the back before we settled out of the research center. I wanted to get away from Dylan Windell but instead, I stuck with him driving his truck in this all too familiar road.
“Where are we going?” I asked as I saw the sign for the place that was near here that I know by my heart by now.
Aunt Milly’s ranch.
I was looking at Dylan as he was gripping the steering wheels. His jaws clenched before I saw the private road that leads to Aunt Milly.
“Dylan, what are we doing here?” I asked him as I was looking at the house that was standing in front of the car right now. Dylan parked the car before he got out of the car and went to my side. He opened the door for me and he was offering his hand to help me. I took it before I was looking at him as he closed the door.
“Dylan, there’s something I have to tell you,” I said as I stopped him from going any further. Dylan turned to look at me as his eyebrows were up. I sighed before I was taking a deep breath and looked him dead in the eye.
“I am not pregnant,” I said quietly before his eyes widened.
“But, you said that—”
“I know what I said. And I am sorry if you feel that I was lying to you and all but I don’t want you…i don’t want you to marry me for the baby out of obligation,” I said as I was biting my lower lips before I turned away from him.
Dylan was caressing my cheek with his thumb before I turned to look at him. He was looking at my face as if I was the most precious thing in this world. And I felt like one as I was looking into his stormy eyes.
“I will always cherish you, Daisy, with my baby or not. I know that I did not give my everything for you but I promise, from now on, I will be giving my everything for you. I will love you every day and with that, I wanted to marry you first thing in the morning tomorrow,” he said before tears were escaping me.
Happy tears.
I was sobbing happily before I was hugging him as I wound my arms around his neck. He was hugging me when his hands were on my waist before he was nuzzling my neck. I was inhaling his nice scent before I heard someone was clearing their throat.
“You know there’s a law about public indecency, right?” Aunt Milly said as Dylan broke the hug before he was regarding my aunt.
“Well, it was my fiancée so I don’t think that applies for us,” Dylan stated before he turned to look at me. I was smiling at him before he was pulling my hand and we were walking toward aunt Milly.
I don’t know what he was planning to do but I hope that he will not be doing something stupid right now.
“Have you decide between marrying my niece, boy?” Aunt Milly asked him before Dylan nodded. Aunt Milly nodded at him.
“As soon as possible,” Dylan added before Aunt Milly was smirking at us. I blushed as I think she was thinking that we cannot keep our hands to each other then. I was looking everywhere but Aunt Milly.
“I think I will get busy then,” she said before she was winking at me. I blushed even more before Dylan chuckled.
“Well, I think Aunt Milly approved. What about you, my love?” Dylan whispered to me as his hot breath was hitting me. I turned to look at him before my eyes dilated to him. He smirked.
“You know I approved,” I said before we were walking into the house as we were settling down for the night.
Dylan Windell’s POV
Well, I did settle for the night at the ranch but I was sitting in the bunkhouse with other cowboys. They were friends before I was looking at the ceiling as I was smiling with content.
Finally, I was getting married.
Uncle Sam might be happy and Aunt Mia…i think she will be over the moon. Now that I will tie the knot, I cannot wait for the news to travel to New York City. I know my uncle has someone followed me so this will be something that I wanted him to come to the Midwest to witness it himself.
I smiled as I was closing my eyes to wait for the morning to come where Daisy Dyer will finally be mine, forever.
