The Emperors Pampered Wife - Chapter 110
“Where are we going this time, Big Sister?” Hou Jun Shen grumbled as he followed behind his sister once more. They were dragged around again as soon as they finished their ice creams and his arms are once more getting tortured by the shopping bags.
Hou Wei Yan smiled at her younger brother before she ruffled his hair. “You’ll love it, don’t worry”
“You’ve bought enough, didn’t you?” he asked which was only replied with Wei Yan’s smile.
“Not yet” she muttered before entering Dare to Dazzle. They thought she would buy more clothes but they ended up going to a jewelry store. All of them looked at one another before they followed her inside.
As soon as she entered, a saleslady entertained her. With a polite smile on her face, she finally stated her name. “Hello, I’m Hou Wei Yan. I made a reservation here under Xing Xiaoling”
Surprise immediately crossed the saleslady’s face at the mention of the mall’s owner. She was in a state of panic because she wasn’t aware of this reservation. Lucky for her, someone heard Wei Yan’s introduction and immediately stepped in to save the day.
“Miss Hou, you’re finally here” the managed spoke up as soon as she heard that Xing Xiaoling’s cousin finally arrived. She flashed him a huge smile before she directed them into the fancy waiting area of their store. “Miss Xing specifically ordered us to handle everything with care. Please wait here for a moment while we take out the product from the vault”
“Thank you” Wei Yan answered as he helped Jun Shen place down all of the shopping bags, allowing his arms to be free of such torment.
Once he was done placing everything down, he placed a curious gaze at his older sister. “You contacted Sister Xiaoling?”
“Yeah. I even invited her but she’s in Spain right now, visiting Brother Zian and his business, and I guess scolding him along the way for remaining single” she mumbled as she remembered the siblings, Xing Xiaoling and Xing Zian born from her third uncle. They are quite eccentric and are actually the polar opposite of one another. Xiaoling is the noisy type who has no restrain with her words while Zian was the silent and cold type who likes to judge people. Because of how cold he is to women; he remains single until today which is a deep concern to the Elders.
“She talks big now because she’s engaged to the French Ambassador’s son” Jun Shen replied back with a sigh. Xing Xiaoling is a hard person to handle that’s why she was single for quite a long time as well. Her status only changed after getting along with the French Ambassador’s son, Kylian Alarcon. “I wonder why she fell in love with him. When did they even get associated?”
“They met through Aina. She played cupid and successfully won over” Wei Yan muttered with a smile.
Hou Jun Shen suddenly flinched when he heard her name. All he could remember about her was her feeding him caterpillars when they were young. She was a very strange woman and she wants everything to go according to her plan.
There’s only one man who managed to defeat her and he was very eccentric himself. If they were to join forces, it would cause total chaos. “She’s scary, that woman”
Hou Wei Yan was sent in a laughing fit when she heard this. True, Aina is a scary woman. As long as she sets her mind on it, it will most definitely happen. She’s very troublesome and only fears a certain weird brunette doctor in Yi Lan.
“Your order is here, Miss Hou” the manager suddenly said as some people entered carrying a royal blue colored cushion where her personalized orders sit. She immediately stood up and walked towards it.
When she saw the fine details and beautiful finish of the products, her eyes instantly shone brightly. The manager was pleased when she saw Wei Yan’s ecstatic expression. “The other one is still inside. Please wait for it for a few more minutes”
She nodded her head in understanding. After this, she took hold of the first item, which was a back watch with a sleek and modern design. She turned towards Jun Shen and urged him to stand up. “This is for Xiao Shen”
Excited, she immediately wore it in his hands. Hou Jun Shen checked it out and noticed the small golden writing in it. “What’s this? I can’t read it”
“Hey, I wrote that myself. How could you not read it?” Hou Wei Yan grumbled which made Xiaolian laugh on the sideline.
“No wonder I can’t” Hou Jun Shen teased before he laughed alongside the others. It took them a few seconds before the laughter died down and once done, he immediately engulfed his older sister in a tight warm hug. “Thank you for this, Big Sister”
She hugged her little brother back and even ruffled his hair to spoil him. “No problem”
“By the way, what does it say?” Xiaolian curiously asked as she checked out the watch alongside the children. Hou Jun Shen happily showed it to them before he finally deciphered the words written in it.
“Not always eye to eye, but always heart to heart” he mumbled with a huge smile on his face. It was a reminder from Wei Yan that he was always loved and no matter what he does…he will be loved.
As soon as the fuss over Jun Shen’s gift was over, Wei Yan went on the next accessories and showed it to the children. There were three silver pendants with a simple and cute circle charm that holds a constellation. Two of the pendants had the Libra zodiac sign constellation and the other one had Ophiuchus.
She handed their corresponding pendant with a huge smile on her face. “It’s for you three. It serves as a charm so whenever you feel down, hold on to it and believe in the power you have”
“Thank you, Big Sister” they chorused as they lounged at her and gave her a hug…triple the power. Hou Wei Yan immediately chuckled when she received their hug. Now, this will make them closer to one another, and hopefully, they could rely on each other in the future.
When she was done receiving their hug, she walked back to the servers who held the cushions and took out the last piece which was another watch. It was held by pearls and was themed in beautiful pearl white. Inside the glass was intricately lined diamonds.
“Hey, don’t tell me you have something for me too” Xiaolian muttered when she saw Wei Yan walking towards her.
“Of course, how could I not?”
“But I didn’t give you anything”
“I’m not giving with the expectation of receiving anything” Wei Yan remarked with a smile on her face She helped Xiaolain wear it and once done, she whispered in her ear. “Don’t laugh but that has a message as well”
Curious, Xiaolian looked at the watch once more before turning back to her with a baffled look in her face. “Wei Wei, it’s so small, how could I read it?”
“Really?” she asked in a panic. Did she write it too small for Xiaolian to read? Should she order another one again?
When she saw Wei Yan panic, Xiaolian immediately chuckled. She stretched out her hands and ruffled Wei Yan’s hair with a huge smile on her face. “It says ‘All is Good to those of Pure Heart’. Thank you”
Relief instantly ran through her system when Xiaolian managed to read her handwriting. She then embraced Xiaolian and while doing so, her eyes landed on the man waiting outside the store. “Oh, Fang Tao is here to get the bags”
“Look around a bit more. I still need to wait for the other one that I ordered” she added before she strode towards her trusty guard patiently waiting outside with his men. Once she was out, Fang Tao immediately sent his men inside to retrieve their shopping bags and bring them to the car.
As the men entered and exit the facility, she curiously glanced at Fang Tao and tried once more to make him join them. “Fang, we’re having dinner at the Skydeck. Want to come?”
A smile was drawn in his face when he heard her offer. He could accompany them but decided that it might ruin their mood. He was fine guarding her from afar this day because Makio is helping him with the monitoring. “I don’t really want to impose on your time with them. Please enjoy today to your heart’s content”
“Yingjie wants to spend time with you though” Wei Yan remarked making Fang Tao shake his head.
“Next time. I’ll give him my time if we meet again” he said with certainty. The siblings rarely get together so he’s giving this day to them. Yingjie will surely understand his intentions so he wasn’t that much worried. “Just send my regards to him”
“Okay” she meekly replied. She flashed him a smile before entering the store again.
Once back inside, she was greeted by the manager who was now carrying her last order. “Miss Hou, we finished wrapping the gift. Do you want to write something in it?”
“No, it’s fine” Wei Yan politely said as she received the neatly wrapped gift. She smiled when she accepted it as she imaged her husband who will receive it later. After checking it out and placing it gently in her bag, she gathered the others and prepared them to leave the store. “Thank you so much”
The manager alongside the other stewards took a bow for her purchase. “Please come again, Miss Hou”
Hou Wei Yan smiled at them before bowing down as well. She then left with the others and as soon as they were far, she flashed them a cheeky smile. “Now, should we go eat? I know you guys are famished”
“It’s your fault, Big Sister” Hou Jun Shen grumbled which made the others nod their heads.
“That’s why I will make up for it” she replied while chuckling. She took a step back and swung her arms in Jun Shen’s neck before she dragged him closer to her. “Let’s go!”
…..
Skydeck Restaurant is well known for its fine dining and Its high class and cinematic view of the city. As soon as they got settled in their seat, Yingjie pulled the hem of his mother’s dress. “Mama, I need to go to the bathroom”
“Oh, okay—”
“Let me accompany him in your place, Big Sister” Hou Jun Shen offered with a smile on his face. Xiaolian would have to wait outside if she were to accompany Yingjie which will give others an opportunity to approach her. Ever since they entered, some gazes were already fixed on her and his big sister.
Xiaolian gave the teenager a smile as she allowed Yingjie to hold Jun Shen’s extended hands. “Thank you, Jun Shen”
“What do you want Jun Shen. I’ll order for you” Hou Wei Yan offered after receiving their menu. She skimmed through it and carefully looked for his favorites.
“You can choose, Big Sister. I’ll leave the decision making to you” he remarked as he prepared to leave with Yingjie. “Let’s go, Yingjie?”
Before they could fully leave, Hou Wuxi suddenly left his chair to catch up to them. “Wait, I want to go too”
Hou Jun Shen nodded his head in understanding and immediately held his hands. As soon as he secured both of them, he looked back at the ladies in the table and flashed them a smile. “We’ll be right back”
Wei Yan nodded her head in reply. As soon as they took a turn towards the comfort room, she redirected her attention towards Jei Li who was seriously skimming the menu like an a.d.u.l.t…a cute a.d.u.l.t. “How about you, Xiao Jei? What are you having for dinner?”
Hou Jei Li had her whole attention on the menu. She tried reading some of it and ended up raising her brows to some of it that she cannot read yet. Her cheeks were huffing in annoyance at the fact that she can’t read some of the content. This caused Wei Yan and Xiaolian to fangirl over her adorable fit.
“Can I just have a chocolate millefeuille?” she finally muttered after a few seconds of silence.
“You need to eat a proper meal before that” Wei Yan replied while chuckling. She then turned towards Xiaolian who was also checking out the menu. “How about you, Xiaolian?”
“I can’t choose” she honestly stated before placing down the menu and looking seriously at Wei Yan. “Let’s just go with their signature dishes”
“Sure” she replied back before calling out the waiter. A female server walked towards them to take their order donning a polite smile on her face. “We’ll go with your signature dishes. Surprise us”
The female server flashed them a smile as she wrote down this request. “Of course, Madame”
“Thank you” Wei Yan muttered after the server took a polite bow.
Once they were left alone, Xiaolian brought her hands together and began questioning Wei Yan regarding a certain someone’s current situation. “By the way, Wei Wei, I heard Tan Jia was scouted by your cousin?”
“He’s been scouting her since her first appearance as a model but Tan Jia repeatedly refused” she replied with a smile on her face.
Her cousin, Xing Zemin, the past President of the Student Body during their high school ended up succeeding their Entertainment Company. He was quite a perfectionist so their production is top-notch and was globally acclaimed due to his high competency. He’s been after Tan Jia for a long time now but the latter still refuses to sign a contract with them despite all the offers she was given.
“I wonder why. Monarch Entertainment is the best Entertainment Company in this country and they’re a global sensation. Why would she reject such an offer?” Xiaolian stated curiously. Tan Jia is a level-headed person. Not accepting the juicy offer of Monarch Entertainment is causing some concern.
Wei Yan shrugged her shoulders. She tried finding out her reasons as well but Tan Jia refuses to tell her. “I don’t know her reasons but I heard from Brother Zemin that she will accept the offer when the time is right. But he doesn’t know when though”
Xiaolian nodded her head before smirking as she thought of that haughty Xing Zemin patiently waiting for Tan Jia. “I’m surprised that your cousin didn’t give up on scouting her. He often rejects people who don’t suit his taste, does he not?”
“Well, Tan Jia is a jewel. Her talent is beyond what others see on the screen and Brother Zemin absolutely knows the extent of her capabilities that’s why he can’t give up on her” she remarked with a smile. He knows how to judge a person and only accepts those who work hard. He often appears haughty because he never compromises but because of this attitude, his company is in top one.
“Your cousin is really something. I heard that their new idol group became a global sensation. They’re performing in other countries and their concerts are always packed” Xiaolian praised when she remembered the idol group which garnered plenty of attention in social media. Her company is even using them as models for their new game.
“LS12” Jei Li suddenly muttered which caught both of their attention.
Hou Wei Yan raised her brows before curiously asking Jei Li. “You know them, Xiao Jei?”
“My classmate’s older sisters often talk about them. They have different biases but most of them like their main rapper, Big Brother Chen Lie” she shared which made both of them curious once more.
Xiaolian who already met with LS12 or Lucid Syndrome, knows who she’s referring to. Chen Lie is perhaps the tallest in the group which makes him easy to spot and remember. “Big Brother?”
Hou Jei Li nodded her head at her peculiar question. “Big Brother Jun Shen knows him personally and he always gives us presents when he meets us so Wuxi and I call him Big Brother”
“Is he Jun Shen’s classmate?” Wei Yan asked, now curious about his circle of friends.
“No. He’s the big brother of big brother Jun Shen’s girl best friend, Meng Chanxi. His real name is Meng Nianzu” Hou Jei Li answered with a smile on her face. She’s very proud of knowing Nianzu personally. He’s often c.o.c.ky and airheaded on screen but he’s actually a tall ball of sunshine.
“Oho. I should investigate this girl best friend” Wei Yan suddenly muttered to herself. Her little brother is close with a girl which will mostly make her a prospective sister-in-law. While she was engrossed in this thought, men dressed in black alongside some medical personnel entered the facility and soon after, Fang Tao appeared before them. “Fang”
“We need to leave” he sternly said as he helped Jei Li down her seat. Hou Wei Yan weirdly looked at him before she redirected her gaze at the comfort room.
“Why? The kids are still—”
She was unable to finish her words for a loud gunshot noise echoed in the restaurant sending everyone to shout in surprise. A few seconds later, everyone is in a state of panic and was already leaving the restaurant. While they were doing this, Hou Wei Yan hardened her gaze and began walking towards the comfort room. However, she was immediately blocked by Fang Tao. “Move it, Fang”
“We can’t. Let our team handle this, Madame” he sternly muttered as he held her shoulders and urged her to step away.
Cao Xiaolian who was feeling an uncomfortable sensation within her immediately went to her bag and released the small fly like cameras her company was developing. “Let me check if they’re—”
“You can’t!” Fang Tao shouted as he tried to take the phone that serves as the monitor away from her.
Before he could reach out to her, her grip on the phone already loosened and tears began welling in her eyes. “Yingjie—”
“What’s wrong?” Wei Yan worriedly asked as she hurriedly picked up the phone. As soon as she saw the scene playing out, her heart convulsed in fear. Her precious Baozi was lying in his own pool of blood on the cold tiled floor. Hou Jun Shen was trying to stop the bleeding with tears in his eyes alongside the terrified Wuxi hiding in the corner of the bathroom.
“Shit” she cursed before she checked out the whole scene. There stood two men with guns in their hands pinning down a man who was already shot a few times. They looked at Yingjie who must have been hit unintentionally. After decerning that he was indeed a casualty, she released the phone and hurriedly snatched the medical kit from one of the medical personnel in the scene.
Once she secured the necessary medical equipment, she ran towards the corridor leading to the comfort room. The men stationed there looked at her and all of them were carrying guns. Fang Tao who was already aware of her plan immediately blocked her but before he could blurt out a warning, Wei Yan already released a punch which he luckily dodged.
His reflexes saved his ace from getting ruined. Before he could even take a proper stance, Wei Yan had already attacked once more. He blocked her punches using his hands and he glared hard at her as soon as their eyes met. She’s not thinking straight at all!
“He needs immediate treatment! Move it!” Wei Yan said in a very low voice. Her voice sounded so dangerous that even the men who were observing them couldn’t help but feel threatened by her.
Fang Tao sighed at her outburst. “We’ll get them out soon”
Knowing just how important time is, Wei Yan was left with no choice but to punch him once more. Once Fang Tao evaded this, she passed him on the side and pushed whoever stood against her. Her scary and fast evading maneuvers easily sent her in the door of the comfort room.
The men inside were startled by her sudden appearance. As a reflex they pointed their guns at her but Wei Yan was swift enough to show them her vulnerability. She raised one of her hands and showed them the medical kit she was holding. “I’m a doctor! I’m here to treat the wounded! I don’t have guns. I came here to treat the wounded”
“Throw that to me!” the bearded man amongst the two said, referring to the medical kit in her hands. She immediately obliged and threw it to them while she raises both of her hands.
They hurriedly checked the contents and once confirmed that it was for treatment, they allowed her to take a step inside…but of course, a gun was still pointed at her, reminding her that one wrong move will end her life. “Treat the kid and leave that bastard behind”
“I can’t d—”
“Just do as I say!” the younger one shouted as he threateningly pointed the gun closer to her.
“Okay” she immediately answered as she hurriedly walked towards Yingjie. He was already unconscious when she arrived which made her worry. She stretched out her hands and pushed Jun Shen’s away so she could begin the treatment.
Hou Wei Yan looked at her little brother worriedly because his hands were trembling. She held it in her hands which pulled Jun Shen out of his trance. “Xiao Shen, cover Wuxi’s eyes”
Jun Shen immediately did as he was asked. Although his hands were already covered in blood, he still covered Wuxi’s eyes because he knew from his sister’s tone, that someone is going to get seriously hurt today and such violence must not be seen by Wuxi.
“Baozi, I’m here” she muttered as she held his hands. When he slightly squeezed her hands, she hurriedly took out plenty of gauzes and directly applied pressure on the wound. While she was busy stopping the bleeding, a low a pitiful voice echoed in the room.
Wei Yan lingered her eyes and saw a man in the cubicle across them reaching out his hands towards her. “H-H-help”
The youngster noticed the voice and followed it. When he saw the man still breathing and even had the strength to call out for help, his blood immediately boiled as memories of his little sister came flooding in his mind. “So, you’re alive huh…you f.u.c.k.i.n.g bastard”
Without any hint of hesitation, the young man pulled the trigger and shot the already wounded man in the end. Still unsatisfied, he pulled the trigger five more times and targeted his heart. After making sure that he was indeed dead, he walked out of the cubicle and stopped in front of Wei Yan.
A loud yelp came out of her mouth as the man harshly grabbed hold of her hair and pulled her up. He placed the gun near her head before he whispered close to her ears. “Let’s get out of here, Doctor. I can’t have you reviving that bastard again”
“Xiao Shen!” Wei Yan desperately shouted once her hand was pried off Yingjie’s wound. Jun Shen looked at his sister and glared hard at the man harshly pulling her. “Compress the wound and cover your eyes”
As soon as the order was given, Jun Shen immediately crawled and compressed the wound. He pulled Wuxi behind him and made sure that his eyes were shut. A few seconds later, he closed his eyes as well making Wei Yan smile.
“Wha—” before another word could come out of his mouth, Hou Wei Yan already made a move. She hit him hard on his abdomen causing him to cough out blood. She was swift enough to escape his clutches before he pulls the trigger.
Knowing how things would turn worse if he continues to hold a gun, Wei Yan aimed at his hands and pulled it down before she pried the gun off his hands. She then shot him in his legs and aimed it at the other man. Without hesitation, she pulled the trigger causing the man to loosen his grip on the gun. She hurriedly went towards him and took hold of the other gun as well.
Wei Yan was about to return to Yingjie before she could do it, she suddenly slipped in the pool of blood beneath her causing her to hit her head. The young man who was shot in the leg, despite the immense pain he was feeling immediately crawled towards her and pulled out the knife behind him.
The glint of the knife that was raised near her head made Wei Yan harden her gaze. Before it could hit her head, she evaded it but it caused the knife to get buried in her shoulders. Pain immediately flowed in her system causing her to scream out in pain. Without any choice left, she called out the name she knew she could always trust. “Fang!”
Fang Tao who heard her painful scream entered the room. When he saw Wei yan getting pinned down, he immediately shot the man’s legs in hopes that he would loosen his grip on Wei Yan.
However, the anger he was feeling overrode all the pain in his system. Despite the two gunshot wounds on his legs, he still pinned down Wei Yan and even buried the knife deeper causing Wei Yan to erupt in another fit of pain.
He was given orders not to kill in front of Wei Yan…because it might trigger her trauma once more. Despite this strict order, Fang Tao was left with no choice but to kill. “Madame, close your eyes!”
Wei Yan shook her head at his order. She doesn’t want to see someone dying before her. Even though the wound was painful, she still used all her force and pushed the man away from her. Once she was out of his grasp, she hurriedly crawled away while Fang Tao dashed at the man and tackled him down.
Hurried footsteps then entered the room and in no time, the two men were apprehended. Although still out of breath, Hou Wei Yan still stood up and pulled out the knife buried in her shoulders. Blood immediately oozed out from it but she was fast enough to press a gauze in it and secured it.
“Madame!” Fang Tao called out worriedly as he strode towards her. His eyes were fixated on her bloody shoulders but Wei Yan’s attention was directed at Yingjie.
He slowly approached him and made Jun Shen open his eyes again. “Help me up and call the ambulance. I think Yingjie was hit in the critical spot”
“But y—”
“Hurry up!” she ordered in anger when she saw that Yingjie was still bleeding. She then turned towards Jun Shen and Wuxi who were still cowering at this sudden turn of events. “Xiao Shen, let me handle this. Xiao Jei is outside with Xiaolian. Take care of them for the meantime”
When she saw Shin Wolter walking inside the comfort room, she immediately sighed in relief. She turned back her attention on them and redirected their gaze at Shin. “Shin will bring you guys home so comfort them in my stead…please”
“You’re wounded, Big Sister” Jun Shen cried out but Wei Yan only smiled at him.
“Yingjie is in a more critical state”
While she was stating this, a worried and crying red hair entered the room. As soon as she saw her son lying unconscious on the floor with blood all around him, Xiaolian’s composure snapped. “Yingjie!”
“Xiaolian…we’re bringing him to Yi Lan” Wei Yan said as she continued checking his pulse and compressing the wound.
A few seconds after, Fang Tao returned with a stretcher behind him. The ambulance will take too long so he decided to contact the headquarters to send their fastest Helicopter. Luckily, Makio already sent it and it was already halfway through. “Our Helicopter is arriving in a minute. We’re ready to transfer him”
“My siblings” Hou Wei Yan worriedly said as she looked at her siblings. Yingjie was getting transferred already which made her concern for her siblings who will be left alone.
Fang Tao followed her line of sight. He knew she would be worried about this so he already contacted someone trustworthy. “Xing Yun was already contacted. He’s around the area and will take care of the children in the Xing Mansion until they have calmed down”
“Thank you” she answered as she hurriedly returned to Yingjie’s side.
Before they could leave, Wuxi pulled the hem of her dress and looked at her with teary eyes. “Save Yingjie, Big Sister”
“I will” she answered. Hou Jun Shen ran towards them and carried Wuxi. Once he secured him, he looked at Wei Yan and mouthed ‘Go’ causing her to smile. She needs to save Yingjie so she can dispel this gloomy atmosphere surrounding the important people in her life and allow light to seep through once more.
