Yun Qingxi and his brother, Yun Yixing are playing chess on the gazebo. “Big brother Qingxi, I lose!” Yun Qingxi has injured his foot while sparring with his mother and Yun Yixing, as the physician in the family, he stayed with his older brother and treat him.

Yun Qingxi laughed out loud while slapping his thigh in joy. “How could you lose to this eldest brother, younger brother?”

Yun Yixing sighs “You are after all a General, Eldest–”

Suddenly Su Wei Lan runs towards the brothers with tears on her eyes. “Sons! Yun Xi has returned!”

Without saying a word, both brothers ran towards the gates. Yun Xi who was busy chatting and smiling with her servants was suddenly attacked by her brothers with a hug. “Xiao Xi!”

“Let this eldest brother take a look at Xiao Xi.” Yun Qingxi inspects his younger sister’s appearance. She has become more beautiful and mature but now that she is dressed as a man, she is definitely more devilishly handsome than before. “Oh! Xiao Xi has become more attractive than us, Yixing.”

Yun Yixing laughs and pats his sister. “Indeed! Why must meimei be more attractive than us?”

Su Wei Lan slaps Yixing’s hands. “Sons! How dare you leave your mother behind!? You ungrateful bastards! Just like your father, I see!”

Yun Xi hugs her mother and Su Wei Lan was stunned. Her daughter, Yun Xi has never shown her affections towards her. Su Wei Lan unconsciously pats her daughter’s back. “Mother, Yun Xi is back. Yun Xi misses mother for years. Yun Xi wanted to visit mother but Master said it wasn’t the time for Yun Xi to go back.”

“Mother understands Yun Xi. Mother also misses Yun Xi a lot. Your brothers do not even comfort mother about it.” Su Wei Lan pretends to wipe her fake tears as she complains about her sons who are very busy with their work.

Yun Xi laughs about it and happily scold her brothers. “Mother, where are Grandfather and Father?”

Su Wei Lan suddenly became serious. “First, we need to talk in my room. It is a serious matter and not fit to talk this outside.”

The Mother and her children went to the room. There, Su Wei Lan reveals what has happened to their father and grandfather. “Children, My sons, and daughter, 2 days ago your father and grandfather have been summoned by the emperor. The emperor has always been afraid of our family because of the power that we have. We control the most powerful army in this empire. Your father has decided to fake my pregnancy to avoid being imprisoned by that emperor.”

“Mother! How could you not tell this to us?” Yun Qingxi shouted. “Did mother planned about me being injured?”

Su Wei Lan slams her hand on the table. “Yun Qingxi! Sit down! Listen to me!”

Yun Qingxi sat down immediately. Su Wei Lan sighs. “Indeed, it was all planned by your father and your sister.” Yun Qingxi looks at Yun Xi with wide eyes.

“Xiao Xi planned this?”

Yun Xi nods as she silently continues to drink her tea. “Eldest brother, we cannot afford to put you in danger. You are the mighty general this empire has ever had. We need Eldest brother’s intelligence on the battlefield.”

Yun Qingxi and Yun Yixing were shocked by what their meimei said. Did she just said ‘on the battlefield?’

“Wait! Did Meimei said–”

Su Wei Lan nods and looked at her sons properly. “The Yun Clan, Lu Clan, and Xun Clan are entering the battlefield to stop the evil deeds of the Royal Family.”

“Is that so? How about Jia Clan and Zhou Clan?” Yun Yixing asked.

“They remained loyal to the royal family. They will need to be eliminated.” Yun Qingxi said with sadness on his eyes.

Yun Yixing pats his eldest brother on the shoulders. He, Yun Qingxi and the young master Zhou Chen are childhood friends. They could not bear or kill their friend. Even though Zhou Chen is not their blood brother, they vow to protect each other at all times.

“Eldest Brother, Second eldest brother, This younger sister of yours will not accept sparing a man’s life for this meimei of yours knows that if one has survived, he will seek vengeance. It will not only risk our family’s lives but also the people of Gonglu.” Yun Xi coldly said as she stares at her brothers with seriousness.

Yun Yixing clenched his hand while Yun Qingxi slams his hand on the table. “We know. We know yet we cannot accept it! He has been our loyal friend, Xiao Xi!”

Su Wei Lan stood up from her sit and slaps her eldest child with all her might. “Yun Qingxi! Would you rather save that friend of yours rather than your family’s life!? You are grounded until this war is over!” Even though Yu Qingxi saw his mother’s attack, he didn’t expect it to be a false attack and thus, Su Wei Lan broke his other leg. Yun Qingxi screams in pain and looked at his mother with fiery in his eyes. “Take your brother and treat him, Yixing.” Su Wei Lan left the room with pain in her heart. She must do this in order for them to succeed. She must do this because hundreds of people are in need. Su Wei Lan knew that her sons would do something stupid and save their old friend thus she did this to her own son.

The siblings were shocked by what heir mother did. It was the first time that Su Wei Lan used violence. Even Yun Xi is shocked.

Yun Qingxi, even though he has been injured by his mother, he kneels in front of his meimei. “Meimei, this eldest brother begs meimei to save Zhou Chen. Please! He is but a sickly man.”

Yun Xi pities her older brothers. She smiled, threw a porcelain bottle to Yun Yixing that contains medicine and turned her back on them. “Meimei has already saved Zhou Chen.”
