Feng Sujin stood by the window and looked at the garden outside, feeling bright and surprisingly happy. She always longed for a home, a real home that belonged to her. Somewhere she could be free, quiet, and rest whenever she wanted to. Every single time she went back to House Feng, she felt exhausted, but she felt extremely peaceful and tranquil here. No matter why Jun Mohan married her, she thanked him for giving her a home. She will make this a new beginning, and a good wife.
She ate lunch and dinner alone luxuriously. Sitting at a huge table with dozens of dishes in front of her made her feel strangely awkward. “Uh, all of you can go back to work, there’s no need to take care of me. And if I’m eating alone in the future, make something simple because I can’t finish these.”
“Yes, young madam.”
Not long after she finished dinner, Feng Sujin received Jun Mohan’s call. She picked up and Jun Mohan asked her softly, “How are you getting used to home?”
Feng Sujin heard his words and felt a lump in her throat: Jun Mohan had used the word “home”; seeing her as his real family always touched the softest spot in her heart.
She sniffed, “It’s great.”
“Why did you tell them not to make so much food? Don’t like it?”
Feng Sujin replied gently, “I’m not used to eating alone, it’s a waste.”
“You just recovered and left the hospital, those medicinal dishes are made to cater to your health so you should eat more. If you aren’t used to eating alone, I’ll be back in a few days and eat with you.”
Feng Sujin’s heart became warm as she listened to his charming and guqin-like voice, “Okay.”
“You are my wife now, don’t let anyone stand over you. If you want to do something, do it without worries because I’m your shield.”
Feng Sujin became excited when she heard this, “Mr. Jun, I want to beat someone up, can I?”
“Yes!”
Jun Mohan replied without hesitation and she could hear the slight smile in his voice. To her, he was spoiling her.
After Feng Sujin hung up the call, even her eyes were smiling. She smiled so lightly and freely, even she felt disbelief upon realizing that she was smiling as she hasn’t smiled like this for a long time.
At night, Feng Sujin laid in the soft and comfortable bed, sleeping tightly and at ease.
The next day, Feng Sujin remembered that she had to submit her designs, but she had saved it in her office computer with passwords. She worked in a small office and because of what happened in the university, she couldn’t use her name to design things. She studied architecture, but self-studied and changed to jewelry design.
She took a percentage from her designs along with her salary, but cannot say that she made the design. Feng Sujin wasn’t against this as it wasn’t easy to find a company that was willing to use her designs after she was expelled.
She wanted to live; she didn’t care about fame and its benefits. She didn’t have to go to work as she only needed to submit designs on time. However she didn’t have anywhere else to stay and didn’t want to go back to House Feng, so she was in the office majority of the time.
After Feng Sujin walked into the office, no one had any ill-feelings towards her. Instead, they all comforted her.
Feng Sujin was touched by their concerned eyes, “Thank you guys, I’m fine.”
“Little Feng, be strong. If you are strong enough, no one can take you down.”
