- Chapter 554: Vali Lucifer VS Sona Sitri (2nd Round) Part IV...
[Rating Game Field]
The dice finally came to a stop with a soft clink… the sum of the dice came out to be three. “Both Teams are being given 5 minutes to select their Piece or Pieces” Grayfia said and both Vali and Sona made their way back to their respective dugouts.
As soon as Sona returned to the dugout, she glanced toward one of her Bishops. “Reya, you can handle the Match, right? I don’t think he has another member in his Team who could attack our mind” Sona asked and Reya simply stared at Sona with a determined glint in her eyes.
“You don’t have to worry about anything, Kaichou. I will take care of the next Match” Reya said in a determined tone and Sona simply gave her a curt nod.
(A/N: All the exact rules of a Dice Figure Game were never revealed. Like, what would happen if a King couldn’t send someone from his Team due to all of his remaining Pieces being of more value than the sum of Dice? Or like what happens if only the King is left and he couldn’t appear due to his high value. What would happen, then? So, I have decided to create some rules for the Game).
Sona knew that Vali had to send one of his Bishops for the next match. He could only send one of his Bishops, he didn’t have any other options. So, Sona also decided to send one of her Bishops, Unlike Vali, Sona’s Peerage was extremely balanced. That is why none of her Peerage members had value like Arthur Pendragon, the Knight of Vali Lucifer.
At the same time, Arthur Pendragon was easily stronger than Tomoe, or Vali wouldn’t have to use his both Knight Pieces to get Arthur in the Team. It was the same with this Bikou. Vali had to use six Pawn Pieces to get Bikou on his Team. Sona wondered how she was going to deal with them. Murayama wasn’t strong enough to fight Arthur on equal footing.
The five-minute break was finally over and Grayfia called out both Teams. Le Fay was the one who stepped from Vali’s dugout and Reya was the one who stepped forward from Sona’s dugout. Moments later, the two of them were teleported to a massive flowerbed. Le Fay clutched her staff tightly and Reya simply raised her hand.
“This is going to be a battle of Bishops!! I am so excited. Start!!” The two of them Serafall’s extremely chirpy voice and Reya immediately lunged towards Le Fay, surprising the blonde Bishop. A Magical Circle formed in the hand of Reya as she punched towards Le Fay.
Poor Le Fay was able to barely jump away before the Magical Circle in Rey’s hand flared up and everything in front of her Magical Circle was obliterated. Le Fay’s eyes grew wide in fear, this wasn’t something she could fight against and she hadn’t planned to fight a Rook hidden in Bishop’s clothing.
“You are quite nimble…” Reya complimented as she started to approach Le Fay.
Le Fay was afraid, but she knew that she couldn’t give up or she would be disappointing Vali and her brother. She swiftly slammed the butt of her staff on the ground. A massive Magical Circle formed on the ground and several golems started to come out of the ground.
Reya looked around and she was quite impressed with the number of golems coming out of the ground. She grinned and slammed her foot on the ground, creating a massive shockwave. While Le Fay thought that Reya was a Rook hiding in Bishop’s clothing, she couldn’t be any more wrong.
In truth, Reya was a simple Bishop, she was just extremely fit and extremely good with various types of Magical Spells. Spells like physical strength augmentation. That was the Spell she used when she lunged toward Le Fay and then she used a shockwave Spell to increase the power of her punch.
Once again, Reya used a shockwave Spell, but unlike using it through her hand like the last time, she used it through her leg. The ground cracked due to the massive shockwave, destroying all the Golems. Reya raised both of her hands and several Magical Circles formed around her body, all of them pointing towards Le Fay.
Le Fay lost her footing due to the shockwave and her eyes grew wide in shock when she noticed the various Magical Circles forming around Reya. “Ta-ta” Reya muttered and activated all the Magical Circles at the same time.
Hundreds of Magical attacks rained down over Le Fay. Thankfully, she was able to activate a barrier to protect herself from an initial volley, but her barrier wasn’t strong enough to withstand all the attacks. Le Fay screamed as she was hit by several attacks and she was blasted away.
Le Fay rolled over the ground a couple of times before she came to a stop. Slowly Le Fay turned into white particles…
“One Bishop of Vali Lucifer has been eliminated. The second round of the Dice Figure Game is won by Sona Sitri and her Peerage” Grayfia’s voice rang throughout the Game Field.
Moments later, Reya was teleported back to Sona’s dugout. Reya didn’t miss the glare Arthur Pendragon was throwing at her. It wasn’t her fault. His sister had decided to participate in the Game, so she should have been prepared for losing and Reya was quite kind towards Le Fay, or she could have ended up in a much worse state.
“I would ask Vali Lucifer and Sona Sitri to join me on the stage for the next dice roll” Grayfia announced and both Sona and Vali made their way towards the elevated platform from their respective dugouts. The two of them arrived in front of the elevated platform.
“Your Peerage members are quite strong” Vali complemented with a neutral look on his face, but Sona gave him a polite smile.
“Thank you. All of us have trained really hard to reach this level” Sona replied politely with a soft smile on her face.
“I see…” Vali said and picked up one of the dice. This time, it was Sona who picked up the dice followed by Vali.
The two of them looked at each other and moments later, they threw the dice at the same time. The dice landed with a click at the elevated platform. Sona was extremely pleased when the sum of the Dice came out to be 11. Even though the look on Sona’s face was completely neutral, on the inside she was extremely pleased.
“Both Teams are given 5 minutes to select their Piece or Pieces for the next round” Grayfia announced and both Sona and Vali started to return to the respective dugouts.
“So who are you going to send?” Tsubaki asked as soon as Sone entered the dugout.
“I will go myself” Sona said and everyone’s eyes grew wide after hearing her words. Seeing the surprised looks on the faces of her Peerage members, Sone decided to explain the reason for her decision. “Arthur Pendragon is vying for some payback, so there is a good chance that he is going to be sent by Vali”
“Arthur is one of the strongest members of their Peerage. Tomoe or Murayama can’t defeat him… it has to be me or Tsubaki who needs to deal with him” Sona explained and her Peerage members finally nodded their heads in understanding.
Meanwhile, there was a similar type of conversation going on in the Vali’s dugout too. “I want to go” Arthur declared with a hard look on his face. Vali gave him a glance and then he decided to agree with Arthur’s demand. Keeping Arthur grounded would be really bad for his Team as he would keep stewing on the inside for the time being.
Though he wondered who Sona was going to send. There was a chance that Sona would come herself as she also had the value of 11 Points. Azazel had told him that Sona was strong and she had killed Walburga and right now, she was the wielder of one of the thirteen Longinus, Incinerate Anthem. Sona might decide to show up, but the chances were pretty low.
From the reports, he knew that Sona was very cautious and she liked making plans instead of using brute strength. True, he had seen Sona using brute strength during the Devil Faction Elimination Round, but he couldn’t deny that it was a nice plan, but during his previous match in the 2nd Round, she had used finesse. She had used Xenovia’s distraction to trap her.
Ultimately, Vali decided that there was only a 50-50 chance that Sona might come. He had no idea how strong Sona was because the reports were pretty outdated. So, he decided to send Gogmagog Shu Wujing with Arthur. Even though the sum was 11, it didn’t mean that he needed to send Pieces of value 11. By sending Shu Wujing he was taking a risk though. If Shu Wujing got eliminated, the Gogmagog would become his lowest value Piece.
According to the Rules of the Dice Figure Game, if he couldn’t send Pieces for three Rounds then he would lose the Match by default. (AU Rule). Vali took a deep breath and decided to move forward with his plan. He was going to send Arthur and Shu Wujing for the next round.
Serafall announced that the 5-minute break was finally over and she asked the Piece or Pieces to step forward. From Vali’s dugout, Arthur and Shu Wujing stepped forward, while from Sona’s dugout, Sona stepped forward. Vali felt that he might have made a mistake…
