The Eternal Supremacy - Chapter 18:Lan Qingcheng
These Qi Gathering Pills should be enough for him to purchase sufficient spiritual medicine to break through his sixth-tier tempered body. Although Qi Gathering Pills contained a large amount of spiritual energy that could assist cultivators in their cultivation process, they were still inferior when compared to spiritual medicine. Depending solely on them to cultivate would be a long accumulation process.
Ji Mo had selected his next target. It was a young man in a blue shirt who seemed rather soft and immature.
Ji Mo approached his target immediately, “Brother, do you want a disc?”
He had learned the sales tactic by then, which was to smile lewdly when posing the question. If the target was one of the “wolves”, they would recognize the hidden meaning behind his smile instantly.
“What kind of disc?” The innocent young man was utterly confused because he had no clue what Ji Mo was talking about.
Ji Mo grinned mischievously and pulled the young man aside in a practiced manner. He revealed a jade disc and instructed the young man to project his consciousness onto it. The young man followed his orders, and soon, his face was flushed with embarrassment.
“First time?” asked Ji Mo.
“Yes,” the young man replied with a slight nod.
“Do you want it?” enquired Ji Mo again.
“These are all I’ve got left, so I’ll give you a discounted price: 800 Qi Gathering Pills for a disc and two copies of ‘The Plum in Prosperity Vase’ as gifts,” replied Ji Mo while grinning from ear to ear although he was trying to scam the poor man. Ji Mo doubled the price albeit telling the young man that he had given him a discount because he could tell that this innocent-looking man was a rookie from an affluent family, hence he was not going to let his target go without ripping him off.
“That’s really expensive,” exclaimed the innocent young man, “but…but I don’t have sufficient Qi Gathering Pills with me right now. I’ll have to get it from my brother who’s just around the corner.”
“Your brother? Sure, we’ll share these with your brother as well and see if he’s interested. We’re all of the same kind, so really, it doesn’t matter who I sell these to.”
“Okay, follow me. I’ll bring you to my brother who’s got a great number of pill notes for Qi Gathering Pills.” The ignorant young man seemed really fond of the treasures that Ji Mo possessed and he quickly dragged Ji Mo towards the hustling main street.
The main area was bustling with activities, but soon, the young man brought Ji Mo to meet a young lady dressed in purple.
The lady was as fair as a flower and as beautiful as the moon. She had silky-smooth, fair skin and her red phoenix eyes were slightly seductive. Her lovely figure was curvy in all the right places, especially the huge breasts in front of her chest. One breast must have weighed about four kilograms and they definitely attracted loads of attention from the passersby.
“Elder Brother, give me some Qi Gathering Pills,” the young man demanded from the lady.
Suspicious, she looked at the young man and then shifted her gaze to Ji Mo while she asked, “What do you want to purchase?”
“Discs,” replied the young man honestly.
“Um…Brother, I’ve changed my mind. Goodbye.” Ji Mo was aware of the unfavorable situation and wanted to sneak away. He never expected the young man’s “brother” to be a woman, what more a beautiful one. Ji Mo was new to this line of business and was still ashamed of it, hence he would never sell these goods to a woman.
“Hey, don’t leave. I really like those things, so please sell them to me.” The young man grabbed Ji Mo’s by his arm, reluctant to let him go.
‘I’ll sell you f*ck all!’
Right at that moment, Ji Mo really wanted to swear in public, but he resisted and reprimanded the young man in a low voice. “You told me you were going to look for your brother, but he turns out to be a woman! Did you bring me to your brother or to your sister?”
“Why are you shouting at me?” said the young man, “This person is my sister, but I’ve been calling her my brother since young because she always behaves like a boy.”
“I don’t care what kind of ethics are practiced back at your home, but I don’t want to do business with you anymore. Let go of me.” Ji Mo swung his arm and wanted to take to his heels.
“Hey, you, stop right there.” The young lady was now interested and gracefully approached Ji Mo. A scented breeze brushed against his face when she came near. “What’s the matter? Show me the goods. We can purchase them in a larger quantity if I’m also intrigued.”
“Um…You might be intrigued, but they’re not suitable for you. Business is closed.” Once again, Ji Mo tried to flee.
“Stop right there. I, Lan Qingcheng, have never ever been rejected by a dealer.” The young lady that called herself Lan Qingcheng moved slightly and appeared in front of Ji Mo almost immediately. A surge of powerful life force flickered from her body intermittently.
‘What an amazing force! This young lady has acquired the capability of a seventh- or eighth-tier tempered body at the very least!’ Within seconds, Ji Mo identified that Lan Qingcheng’s cultivation base was superior to his. He almost immediately realized that he was in trouble. ‘Oh God, what have I done to deserve this misfortune?’
Lan Qingcheng had enough of Ji Mo’s silent treatment, so she extended her arm quickly like a seasoned thief and removed one of the jade discs from his arms. She raised her eyebrows in suspicion as if she realized something. Then, her consciousness was instantly projected into the jade disc.
All of a sudden, Ji Mo noticed Lan Qingcheng’s face blushing and murderous intent was revealed in her enchanting eyes.
“I’ll give you that disc as a gift. I have to deal with something else, so I’ll need to take my leave now!” Ji Mo yelled and dashed into the crowd without turning back.
“You rat! How dare you sell these items? Come back here right now!” Lan Qingcheng shouted through clenched teeth as she threw the jade disc to the ground. However, she realized Ji Mo had already disappeared when she was trying to locate him in the crowd. Immediately, she glared at the young man in rage and reprimanded, “Lan Ruofeng, how could you befriend that kind of person? I’ll definitely tell Father to punish you severely. Don’t you dare pick it up. Throw it away now!”
“But it’s free of charge!” replied the young man in grievance.
…
Ji Mo was dashing at full speed and only slowed down when he decided that Lan Qingcheng and the young man had not trailed after him. “Hell, the deal was such a loss! I encountered a simple-minded child and his tough sister. I’ll never get out of this huge trouble.”
Carrying 10,000 worth of Qi Gathering Pills in pill notes in his pocket, Ji Mo tried looking for Old Man Qingzhu in the crowd. However, it seemed as if Old Man Qingzhu had vanished into thin air and no one had heard from him. The situation provided Ji Mo an impulse to abscond with the profits because he would have to share the profit of 10,000 Qi Gathering Pills with Old Man Qingzhu if he found the latter. The wealth gained was the fruition of his labor alone although the capital had been provided by Old Man Qingzhu.
“Tianbao Pavilion.”
Ji Mo came to a store from which three dazzling characters crafted in gold were hung. Tianbao Pavilion was known to everyone as a place that provided a large number of spiritual medicines and spiritual talismans. Although he had never visited it and was not familiar with the pricing of their spiritual medicines, Ji Mo had heard of this place before.
Anyhow, he took long strides and entered the store. The inner decoration of Tianbao Pavilion was rather impressive. Once inside, a faint scent that could refresh one’s mind filled the atmosphere.
The first thing that entered Ji Mo’s eyes was the spiritual talismans that were displayed on the counter. Spiritual talismans were also called magical talismans in the cultivation world. Similar to magical treasures, they were props that could increase the cultivator’s combat power. There were over ten thousand different kinds of spiritual talismans. For instance, a low-grade spiritual talisman could release spell power whereas a high-grade spiritual talisman could even change magically into a talisman spirit of matchless combat power.
In the cultivation world, numerous spiritual talisman clans focused on the refining of spiritual talismans. A powerful spiritual talisman could release an intense strength that was stronger than a magical treasure. The only drawback was that each spiritual talisman could only be used ten times, at the most, before losing its power and turning into a piece of useless paper.
Ji Mo did not research much about talismans, hence he straight away moved over to the counter that displayed spiritual medicines.
“Second-grade spiritual medicine for 300 Qi Gathering Pills!
“Third-grade spiritual medicine for 600 Qi Gathering Pills!
“Fourth-grade spiritual medicine for 2,000 Qi Gathering Pills!”
“Oh my goodness, this is daylight robbery! The difference is immense!” Ji Mo broke into a cold sweat when he discovered the price of these spiritual medicines displayed on the counter. A fourth-grade spiritual medicine was being sold at the dear price of 2,000 Qi Gathering Pills! It seemed like even with the pill notes he had acquired in his pockets, he could not purchase much.
