The Eternal Supremacy - Chapter 4:Huo Lin’er
Naturally, a person in the Acupuncture Point Unblocking Phase could not absorb the Heaven and Earth Spiritual Energy. Thus, people who were at this boundary and wanted to use the energy to boost their acupuncture points needed sufficient spiritual medicine. There were many types of spiritual medicine available and had varying grades, ranging from the first grade to the ninth grade. Among the nine grades, the first grade was the worst and the ninth was the best.
Regardless of whether it was a person at the Acupuncture Point Unblocking Phase or an expert at the Qi Plundering Boundary, spiritual medicine was of the utmost importance.
Moreover, it was said that there was another medicine known as the Immortal Pill which was more potent than a ninth-grade spiritual medicine. This Immortal Pill was extremely rare, and one of them could make a person undergo a huge transformation, thereby skipping a number of boundaries. Even an undefeatable expert could not resist the temptation of the Immortal Pill. It was a legendary pill of the finest quality.
Ji Mo stood up and walked out of his room. Standing by the window, he looked at dawn’s first rays of sunlight and touched his forehead. A day and a night had passed. It took him that much time to fully digest this new information.
Too many things had happened in the past few days. He had been pursued and nearly lost his life. Furthermore, Du Jia’s betrayal and Nan Hao’s humiliation caused Ji Mo to desire power for the first time in his life. Now, with this fortuitous encounter that made him obtain the Nine Suns Immortal Qi and Celestial Hell, he had an opportunity to become stronger.
This time, Ji Mo had become wiser. No matter how trustworthy someone was, he or she would ultimately betray him out of personal interest. Thus, he must never let anyone know about this secret.
‘First of all, I must successfully cultivate the Celestial Hell Tempering Art and acquire the Celestial Devil’s Body before I can control the Nine Suns Immortal Qi. Unfortunately, spiritual medicine has become a hindrance. Depending on the small supply of spiritual medicine provided by my clan won’t be enough,’ Ji Mo thought.
Back then, he had never cared about spiritual medicines. Cultivation had always been secondary to him. However, things had now changed. Ji Mo lusted for power and was sick of getting humiliated. He wanted to improve his capabilities, and in order to do so, he must have a sufficient supply of spiritual medicine.
As he thought about this, Ji Mo took out a jade talisman. The jade talisman was used for sending messages and was a common item in the cultivation world. Although Ji Mo was not a true cultivator yet, he knew how to use this object.
After imprinting his message, Ji Mo sent the message in the jade talisman to his clan. He believed his mother would receive his message soon. Given Ji Mo’s current level of capability, he could only rely on his clan for extra spiritual medicine.
Amongst his clan members, almost everyone looked down upon him except for his mother. Even Ji Mo’s father had nearly lost all confidence in him and regarded him as a good-for-nothing. After all, Ji Mo had always been incompetent. Aside from his reluctance to cultivate diligently, he also brought the clan problems.
Only Ji Mo’s mother believed that her own son would not turn out to be an ordinary person. Therefore, he dared to tell only his mother about his need for more spiritual medicine, but he hid this from his father.
After packing his belongings, Ji Mo headed out of his residence and walked towards Tianyuan Academy.
He figured that Nan Hao had probably returned to Tianyuan Academy, thus he must behave as if he did not know anything lest the latter became suspicious. Before he developed his capabilities, he must not get into a fight with Nan Hao, or else, he would only lose.
Tianyuan Academy was an external place for cultivation training by the Tianshan Sword Sect. Only high-achieving disciples of the academy were qualified to enter the Tianshan Sword Sect and become true cultivators to venture onto the path of becoming an Immortal.
At Tianyuan Academy, everybody set their sights on entering the Tianshan Sword Sect and worked as hard as they could.
Today, there was a lecture that was held once every fortnight. There would be inner disciples from the Tianshan Sword Sect who would explain the challenges of cultivation to the disciples of Tianyuan Academy. Usually, Ji Mo was too lazy to attend these lectures. Even if he participated in them, he would fall asleep and not listen to anything.
It was different this time around. Ji Mo had decided he must not be a failure. In order to prove himself, he must work hard.
In addition to that, with the possession of the Nine Suns Immortal Qi and the Miraculous Technique of Immortals and Spirits, it would be a terrible waste if he goofed around.
By the time Ji Mo arrived at the lecture, it had already begun. He found a spot to sit down and gazed at the stage.
A woman in red was seated up there. She was about eighteen or nineteen years of age and had a pretty face and a fair complexion. Her soft features were exquisite, granting her a seductive yet mischievous vibe. She was an inner disciple sent by the Tianshan Sword Sect and was there to train the outer disciples of Tianyuan Academy.
At Tianyuan Academy, everybody knew that this woman in red was not one to be messed with. She was known as the Fiery Rose and delivered very harsh punishment to those who offended her. Despite her attractive looks, she was feared by many.
Huo Lin’er was her name. She was as fiery as her name hinted.
During the lecture, Huo Lin’er briefed the disciples of Tianyuan Academy on the problems faced during the body tempering process and the respective solutions. Everyone paid attention and no one dared to speak loudly as they were aware of Huo Lin’er’s methods.
Previously, Ji Mo had fallen asleep during Huo Lin’er’s lecture and got caught red-handed. He had snapped back at her, and as a result, she had beaten him up severely and he was bed-ridden for a month. Ever since that incident, Ji Mo had never attended her lectures again.
An hour later, the lecture ended.
Ji Mo stood up and heaved a sigh of relief. Today was the first time he had listened to the lecture seriously. The problems that he did not understand and had not bothered to understand before were now solved. Apparently, Huo Lin’er was a talented person and not just someone who punished others violently.
When the lecture ended, the rest of the crowd noticed Ji Mo. The way everyone looked at Ji Mo was different. Some regarded him with disdain while some regarded him gloatingly. In short, everybody judged Ji Mo. All of them knew that he was a good-for-nothing who only researched useless information. He had been at Tianyuan Academy for two years and was merely in the third-tier Acupuncture Point Unblocking Phase. He might not be qualified to graduate from Tianyuan Academy and become a true cultivator.
“Hey, isn’t that Ji Mo? It’s a miracle that he’s here for the lecture.”
“Yeah, is he no longer afraid of Huo Lin’er? She really roughed him up the last time. Is he trying to be funny again?”
“Don’t tell me he’s had a revelation and has decided to cultivate properly.”
“Nonsense. If he has decided to cultivate properly, even a sow can become an Immortal. A fraud like him could never dream of graduating from Tianyuan Academy!”
People had various opinions of Ji Mo and began to pass remarks.
Ji Mo stood still as if he had not heard any of the comments. His mind was busy comprehending Huo Lin’er’s words which greatly enlightened him. Normally, he never cared about attending these lectures, but he did not expect to learn so much that day.
It looked like he should attend more of these lectures. Ji Mo’s interest in cultivation began to grow.
At the same time, Ji Mo lifted his head and noticed Huo Lin’er walking towards him.
Without hesitation, he started to run. He was extremely fearful of Huo Lin’er. After what she had done to him the last time, he was well aware of how cruel she could be.
“You there, stay where you are!” Huo Lin’er yelled and approached him gracefully, but she moved swiftly like a gust of wind.
Ji Mo caught a whiff of a pleasant scent. It smelt amazing and he could not help inhaling it deeply. Then, he let out a dry laugh. “Senior…Senior Sister Huo.”
“Huo”, or 火 in Chinese, means fire.
