The Female Lead Is A Lesbian - Volume 1 Chapter 52 The Tea
(At A Police Station)
Mya filled a white mug with fresh coffee. She looked absolutely exhausted with ginormous eye bags and her hair tied messily in a bun.
She had removed her jacket and hoodie and was left with her black t-shirt. She took a sip from the mug and sighed in satisfaction.
Some people snickered behind their hands at her current state but one quick glare from Mya was enough to shut them up.
She walked over to her desk, where dozens of files layed stacked up and dozens layed open with bloody pictures and papers inside them.
“*Ugh*” She sat down in the office chair at her desk and let out a fed up groan as she rubbed her temples. While unconsciously frightening the people around her with her fed up aura.
She had been over this case for hours and it seemed impossible to solve. There was no forensic evidence left behind, nobody was talking, the only victims who survived were in comas, and who could forget the fact that the suspect had jumped from a two-story window and SURVIVED.
How could anyone solve this?! She furrowed her brows and looked visibly frustrated.
*Pak* “Oww!” Mya yelled out in pain and looked up to see Jerry holding a stack of files which he used to smack her on the head.
Mya glared at him and Jerry responded by smacking her on the forehead. Making Mya bend over with her face pointed back at the desk.
She rubbed the red spot on her forehead while Jerry said, ” You need to relax. You’re scaring everybody. C’mon the analyst said he got something for us.”
Jerry started to walk off before Mya could even respond. But she reluctantly chased after him.
(A few minutes later)
The two arrived at a bas.e.m.e.nt like room that reeked of caffeine and vitamin D deficiency. The light from computer screens made up at least seventy percent of the overall light in the room.
The two walked toward a pasty and slightly skinny man sitting in front of a complex setup of computers.
Jerry approached the man and tapped him on the shoulder. “Hey man whadda ya got for us?” Jerry asked the man or technical analyst.
The analyst nodded his head and said, ” Ah, detectives you will not believe what I’ve found.”
“Well we’re waiting, ” Mya said sounding annoyed.
The tech was already typing on his computer but that didn’t stop him from retorting, ” How many cups of does the one in your hand make officer Hong? Because in my experience I don’t even feel anything after my fifth.”
Mya was silent for a second before responding quietly, ” It’s my twelfth.”
The tech made a small smile and pulled something up onto his computer. “Okay so I’ve been going over the reports over and over. And I couldn’t shake the feeling that something felt, mmm, weird.
Then I noticed that the first officers to arrive at the scene got there unusually quick. The club employee who radioed for help at approximately 12:45. The police arrived at approximately 12:49.
I thought that was a little too quick and then bam, it says they were in the lobby, at the front desk, at the time of the radio. So then I started wondering, why were they there in the first place. I mean they were on duty, so it wasn’t like they were gonna throw a few back with some pretty ladies.
So I asked them and oh boy, oh boy, did they give the tea!
Ok so, the reason that they were there was that there had been a 9-1-1 call saying that there had been an assault and where was the assault occurring. Pause for dramatic effect…
Room 409.”
Mya c.o.c.ked a brow and asked, ” Couldn’t that have been someone from one of the rooms next door?”
The tech smiled and said, ” It COULD have been but it wasn’t. See look, ” he typed on his computer and brought up the security footage.
“See the suspect enters at 12:28 and even though the footage was erased for the most part of the victim’s demise. It plays at 12:45 just in time to see the suspect choking out the employee.
So this helps assume that the suspect hadn’t left the room the entirety of the missing footage.
But, the 9-1-1 call was made at 12:25.”
Mya and Jerry’s eyes widened and they looked at each other faces filled with shock.
“If the call was made before the assault, and nobody knew about the assault beforehand ” Jerry started.
“Then the suspect was the one who made the call.” Mya finished his sentence.
The tech nodded his head and tilted his confused, ” But why would a person who’s planning to commit mass murder alert the police before he’s done the cri-.” He began to ask but before he could finish the two had walked away. Leaving the tech slightly pouting and typing angrily at his keyboard.
Meanwhile, Mya and Jerry walked hurriedly down a hallway. “Damn it! He wanted this to happen! He probably didn’t except having to jump out of a window. But he definitely wanted to be seen.” Jerry said through gritted teeth.
“We screwed up! He had another motive besides saving that girl. Attention, and that’s what he got. Whether it was to provoke the crime world or present himself as some kinda superhero he’s got more up his sleeve.” Mya said through my gritted teeth as well.
“So what should we-, ” Jerry was cut off by someone shouting.
“Ah! Detective Hong!”
Mya turned around to see a young uniformed officer approach her.
“Detective Hong, *huff* sorry I’ve been looking for you everywhere.” The officer panted.
“Well you found me, what’s up?” Mya asked.
“The captain’s asking for you in her office.” She continued still a little breathlessly.
Jerry looked at Mya questioningly saying ‘What did you do?’ to which Mya shrugged her shoulders saying ‘The f.u.c.k I know.’
Jerry then jerked his head toward the uniformed officer saying ‘You better go find out.’
Mya sighed through her nose and nodded. She then walked with the officer to the captain’s office.
