Chapter 1499: Trial of Power(21)
Thud!
Huo Jinglin breathed a sigh of relief when he saw the white smoke fully dissipating, but a surprised expression spread across his face when he saw an item crashing on the floor.
Huo Jinglim immediately climbed down the bed and walked to whatever had fallen from the white smoke. Once he reached there, he couldn’t help but become surprised since there was a glowing stone on the ground.
A cautious expression appeared on his face, and he picked up the item. Huo Jinglin didn’t have to look for information as a blue screen immediately popped out, just like the case with the medal.
When Huo Jinglin read the details of the stone, he couldn’t help but become shocked, and following that, it turned into loud laughter.
The glowing stone was an upgrade stone and could help him upgrade his challenger screen. At that moment, Huo Jinglin couldn’t help but want to eat all the fruits on that devilish tree, but unfortunately for him, he couldn’t enter his sea of consciousness.
After a slight moment of disappointment, Huo Jinglin stopped thinking about it since he would have more than enough time in the future.
He then summoned his challenger screen, and immediately the stone in his hand disappeared and melted into the challenger screen.
Huo Jinglin could upgrade that blurry bloodline by 0.0001% with that stone, showing its preciousness. Since he had no intention of upgrading his bloodline, he immediately moved his eyes away from it and focused on the skill section.
With the stone, Huo Jinglin could update four of the five skills he bought from the store to their full mastery, meaning he didn’t need to train in them after that.
He was still short of some points for the combination type skill, so he didn’t think of wasting the stone on that. Huo Jinglin was lacking truly defensive skills at the moment, so he immediately upgraded that one.
Following that, a wave of memory appeared in his mind, detailing his training in the skill. In just a moment, Huo Jinglin had trained for several thousand years, making him master the skill.
Time was like a stream that kept flowing if no obstructions blocked its path, and three years had passed in the blink of an eye.
Huo Jinglin was following his usual routine, so once he completed his meditation, he was about to leave for his training when the familiar blue screen popped out in front of him.
A smile spread across his face since it was exactly one month later after he completed his last challenge. In the past three years, he had completed several challenges, resulting in his being at the peak of Level 3.
It took ten cores to pass from Level 1 to Level 2, which grew to 100 cores to step into Level 3. To step into Level 4, the Level 3 user not only needed to absorb 1000 low Experience Cores or 10 medium Experience Cores but in addition to that, there was a particular challenge to step into Level 4.
Huo Jinglin had already absorbed the required number of cores and was only one challenge short of stepping into Level 4, and the blue screen brought that one to him.
He had completed various levels of difficulty and many times had reached the verge of death, but fortunately for him, he had never failed any challenge. The greater the difficulty of the challenge, the greater the reward for completion, so Huo Jinglin had gained many things since he came here.
Huo Jinglin had fully mastered three of the five skills bought from the store since after stepping into Level 3, the white smoke left him two glowing stones. Huo Jinglin was also forced to rest for ten days after that, so his plans to continuously eat the fruits turned out to be a failure from the start.

“Hello, Hilis. I might need to activate the medal for the challenge,” Huo Jinglin immediately contacted the prince.
Over the past three years, Huo Jinglin had been to the labyrinth several times, and that had resulted in the relationship between Huo Jinglin and Hilis being good. Huo Jinglin’s identity as the challenger had also been revealed, so he no longer needed to show his respect for Hilis’s identity as the prince of the Heles Kingdom. The initial instance of this chapter being available happened at N0v3l.Bin.
“Okay, should I come to help you?” Hilis’ voice rang from the other side.
Like Huo Jinglin, Hilis was also only one challenge short of stepping into Level 4. Since the medal in his hand could summon up to Level 3 creatures, Hilis was no exception to that.
When Huo Jinglin heard it, he couldn’t help but smile since if Hilis could come, it would be better for him. Hilis was even stronger than him when it came to combat.
“It’s up to you,” Huo Jinglin responded, hiding his excitement.
“Okay, I will be waiting for your summon,” Hilis’s voice rang in Huo Jinglin’s ears and then the call was disconnected.
Huo Jinglin placed the device back into the space inside the card. The challenge had no time limit set, so he didn’t leave immediately. He instead walked toward the training room as he was going before the screen’s arrival.
Time flew by, and hours passed in the blink of an eye. Huo Jinglin stretched his body as he woke up. After sleeping on the bed, his mental and physical situation was as optimal as it could ever be, so he was finally ready to leave for the challenge.
Huo Jinglin immediately armed himself, using the armor he had gotten as a reward after completing one of his most difficult challenges. Since he had almost died, the armor was similarly powerful. It could defend one strike from a Level 4 being.
Once his preparation was complete, Huo Jinglin climbed up the stairs to the teleportation room. Around the portal, there were several low Experience Cores stored. He had himself left those for the sole purpose of teleportation since it had been long before he exhausted his ten free teleportations.
The next moment, he put the core in the required spot and activated the device. He immediately walked into it, and when he came out, he had reached his destination.

A/N: Tomorrow, there will only be one chapter to celebrate the milestone of 1500 chapters. Like the 500th and 1000th specials, it would be a large chapter and focus on Aakesh’s past life.
