The Fractured Soul: Faded Memoirs - Chapter 47
“Hello there, little missy. Aren’t you the cutest…”, Brutos stood behind Sera, his voice starting to slur. “What are you doing over there? Mind if I stick myself in? I’d hate it if I was just hanging around.”
Sera, frightened and trembling, slowly turned to face the man. Brutos saw the look on Sera’s face and started laughing wildly. He started to walk towards the girl, a creepy grin on his face, and his hand rubbing somewhere near his crotch.
Sera back down slowly, “No, please.” The words barely came out of her mouth like a whimper. She tripped on something and fell on her back. “Gaahh!” The fall hurt her back but she didn’t even feel it. She was too scared to even care.
“Ohh. You’re perfect. You’re so perfect.”, Brutos licked his lips and suddenly jumped at Sera.
Sera screamed, pleading for the man to leave her alone, but it only made Brutos even more aggressive. He laughed maniacally as he pinned Sera down and started to rip the poor girl’s clothes off.
“Please, no! Please… somebody… help…”, Sera tried to call out but she knew nobody was coming. If her foster parents were here, they would have come already. Brutos had already torn off most of her clothes and was licking her body wildy. It was disgusting. She tried to fight back, but she was no match for Brutos’ strength. The soldier, who was supposed to be her guardian, hasn’t even answered to her call for help. As she painfully closed her eyes to accept defeat, the man on top of her suddenly howled in pain.
“Wahhhhhhh!”, Brutos Griffith, the man that he is, screamed out like an impaled pig.
Sera felt Brutos’ grip release her and she tried to scramble to safety, but the flailing of the man hit her and threw her to one of the corners of the room. She hit her head and fell to the ground unconscious.

Brutos almost had the time of his life. But someone had to interfere. He felt a sharp pain pierce through his back and he desperately tried reach out for it. He saw Sera as she was flung to the other side of the room, but his concern was to face whoever stabbed him in the back.
Staring back at him, was a creature unlike anything he had seen before. It stood upright like a man, but it’s body was covered in different broken pieces. It had positioned itself between him and the unconscious girl, so Brutos had to assume it was protecting her.
“Whatever you are and whatever you think you’re doing, you picked the wrong time to do it, pal. You don’t want to mess with me when I’m angry.”, Brutos already started to form fireballs in his fists.
The soldier just stared back blankly, maintaining its position in a battle stance.
Brutos, unable to hold back himself any longer, threw fire ball after fireball at his enemy, his evil grin growing crazier every passing second.
——————
Brutos Griffith and the valiant soldier was locked in a fierce battle, causing chaos in their surroundings. Everytime Brutos shot out a fireball, the soldier would dodge it, and it would go straight to some Stedore equipment. It had been going for quite some time, when suddenly from the smoke, they saw Sera slowly getting up.
There was something different about her, though. Instead of cowering and wailing, Brutos and the soldier stared as the girl’s cries slowly turned into choked giggles. The giggles started to get louder and louder. Sera was laughing already. She was hysterical, it was almost as if she had gone completely insane. She didn’t care that her tattered clothes slid off her body. She didn’t mind the fire and explosion around her; it was like she was a different person.
Brutos was the first to shake off from being dazed, and took advantage of the situation. The soldier was still frozen in place, not knowing what to do, and became a perfect target for Brutos’ explosive fireballs. It was thrown away by the impact and debris fell, pinning it down to the ground.
Feeling triumphant, Brutos looked back in the direction of the crazed girl. She was now looking at him directly. Her head was slightly tilted to the side and she smiled playfully. She started moving towards him, her skin glistening from sweat that flowed down her toned body.
Brutos laughed, and doused the fireballs in his hands. He started getting undressed himself, while still laughing uncontrollably. “I don’t know what’s gotten into you, but I like you now even more! I’m going to enjoy this! Come at me with all you’ve got!”
Brutos had just finished undressing when suddenly the girl, who should have been a few more steps away, instantly appeared right right in front of him. His manic laugh died down as he stared at the girl’s eyes. It wasn’t the terrified and teary eyes he was familiar with. Instead, he was looking at two red, glowing orbs that almost pierced his soul. A name echoed in his mind. Confused, the man thought out loud, “Helrisa? Wh–”
The girl’s soft body pressed against his and her delicate hand’s slowly graze his groin. She leaned toward his ear and said in a chilling voice, “You were calling me?”
——————–
Brutos Griffith dropped to his knees, clutching at his crotch. He was screaming, then whimpering, then screaming again. Blood started to pool underneath his naked body, and he was writhing in pain.
The girl stood, looking down at his pathetic form, her hand covered in his own blood. This was it. His life is finished, and to think he, Brutos Griffith, an Arcanist, would be taken down by a girl. What a miserable life he had lived, and now, he awaits his inevitable end. But instead of finishing him off, the girl only stood there, staring at her bloodied hand. Brutos vision started to clear and he noticed the girl’s eyes had lost it’s red color.
——————-
Sera blinked and was shocked to see her hand drenched in blood.
‘What’s going on?’
The last thing she remembered was being thrown to the wall, as Brutos squealed out like an animal. She has faint recollections of seeing the soldier come to life and battle Brutos to save her. Her head started to spin, and her senses slowly dull. She was exhausted and her knees started to give out.
——————–
Sera was about to fall when a pair of small arms caught her. The soldier had just got out from the pile of rubble, and was in time to prevent the girl from falling. Brutos was still clutching at his groin as he lay in a pool of his own blood and urine. He cursed at the soldier but it paid no mind. Carrying the unconscious girl in it’s arms, the soldier walks away and exits the laboratory, as it made it’s way outside and leave the Stedore house for good.
Brutos, furious at his impotence, screamed out in anger. He forced himself to crawl despite the pain and pursue those escaping . When he reached the ground floor and saw the front door open and swinging in the wind, he knew Sera and the soldier are already far ahead.
“Nooooooooo!”, he cried out and winced in pain. He never felt so powerless in his entire life. Even the sufferings he felt back as a child was nothing compared to what he felt now. He was so angry that his fury materialized into fire. Everytime he screamed and writhed in agony, waves of dark flames burst from his body.
As the soldier and Sera disappeared into the distance, the Stedore house burned brightly into the night.
