The Gamer’s System - Chapter 256
The final hours have finally come for Mythos. There are a few major figures that ciuld affect these changes and, one of tehm is the hero chosen y the three maor deities,Z eke elwood.
The gamer knew of the events that transpired within the beast continent of Rak’shan. This was updated to him through the use of his [Minimap]. Showing nothing but a mass of darkness over the said continent. The title of [Chaos] was directly on top of it.
“Well this is certainly going to be troublesome.” Zeke said, getting over the fact that all the Beastmen of the continent were already dead. There was no point in mourning, nor was Zeke any capable of doing so. [Gamer’s Mind] prevented this after all – allowing him to stay level headed even in that situation.
“I did expect him to make a move, although this is way beyond anything I had in mind.” The gamer furthered as he viewed where [Chaos] was moving towards. A problematic area at that because some of his allies had it as their homeland.
It was Elysium.
Right off the bat, before he could even make his move, the System updated his quests. Giving him the appropriate requests based on the situation.
[The Main Quest has been Modified into a Chain Main Quest]
[Three component quests must be accomplished in order to clear the main quest. Rewards will be given as soon as all conditions have been cleared.]
…
[Chain Quest Component 1: Striking Down Chaos]
[Information: The Chaos that now envelops the sea of Mythos must be destroyed entirely. Additional rewards will be given if it is prevented from hitting any other continent.]
…
[Chain Quest Component 2: Death to the Horned King]
[Information: The former elven king, Glade Leonis, has transformed into an eight horned beast. The quest will be cleared as soon as he is killed. This requirement does not need to be met by the gamer. Should the quest target die at any point, this quest will still be cleared.]
[Additional rewards will be given if the gamer or any of his allies deal the killing blow.]
…
[Chain Quest Component 3: Requiem for the Gods]
[Information: Pier, the god of mischief and deceit, now roams around Mythos freely. Kill his mortal form and the mission will be finished.]
[Only the gamer is able to fulfill this condition. Any other form of death aside from the quest owner’s hands will be considered invalid.]
…
[Reward: The Ancient Spell will be completed.]
[Reward: The gamer will be given free entry to the realm of the gods.]
[Reward: The gamer will earn a Transcendent System Update. Information on the said system cannot be disclosed and will only be revealed as soon as it is claimed.]
“This system really knows how to get me moving.”
Saving Elysium was already on the top of the gamer’s head even before the quests came up. Although he felt no mourning nor sadness for Rak’shan, he still thought that it would be unjust of him to act based on the said event.
“Well, on the bright side, it finally looks like the final moments of this mission.”
With how fast [Chaos] was moving, Zeke knew that he at least had a day or two in order to prepare. Within this time period, he needed to find a way in order to solve all problems. Provide back up plans for all of them in case some of these falls apart along the way. As well as providing backup plans for the backup plans.
He began by opening his [Voice Chat] command. Linking it to every ally he had at the base and giving one command.
“We’ll be having an emergency meeting in a few hours. I suggest you rest as well as you could in the meantime because, after it I doubt you’d get any decent sleep.”
While Zeke went on with this, Pier was already finished fighting the gods that descended. Again, he stood on top, showing his superiority even to his colleagues.
Within the heavenly realm, he’d be a match to each of them. Probably losing some while winning others by a hair’s breadth. But in their mortal form, the gods and goddesses were nothing but newborn babes in front of him. He didn’t even waste any time and proceeded to taunting the gods that watched from the heavenly realm.
He took the liberty of getting the head of the goddess of lighting. Preventing it from being part of what was devoured by Chaos. Through this, the gods were able to see him clearly as he held it at eye level.
“Did you see that? You fools had no chance from the begging! I am, and always will be, superior to all of you!” Pier triumphantly declared and, this time around, his words felt real.
“If you want to prove me wrong, then I’d be more than happy to accommodate you here on Mythos!”
There was no response of course. With what just happened, the gods would think twice before even trying to descend once more. But even this realization was too late because Pier already had everything that he needed.
With the sacrifice of the gods, Chaos has matured and grown even stronger. It would still move steadily towards Elysium but, the amount of damage that it can cause has multiplied exponentially. Ensuring that no normal method would work in order to stop it.
“You know, I’m not simply destroying Mythos for the fun of it. You see, there are things that would occur as soon as Mythos gets enveloped in [Chaos]. Do you wanna know what that is?” Pier placed his head near the decapitated head, as if waiting for it to speak to him. But there was nothing but silence.
“Still acting all high and mighty I see.” He continued, smiling as he said the next line.
“Fine then. I was really planning on telling you anyways and, I believe Sinclair would be able to understand the when I say that, all the Monarchs will be resurrected immediately.” Pier’s smile twisted even more. Although he couldn’t see the gods and goddesses reactions, he knew that there was nothing but anxiety growing on them at that point. And this brought even more pleasure to him.
“Now I know that everyone else is curious about what I just said. But you see, that trio has actually been keeping you in the dark about a lot of things. I suggest you begin interrogating them for your own good.”
“Well that would be all. World domination is hectic work so toodles.” At this Pier threw the head down [Chaos] in order for it to be consumed. The things he said were half-truths, only aiming at causing as much disturbance in the heavens as he possibly could. And he was successful.
One could not even hope to imagine how chaotic the heavens became after that point. The minor gods began talking among themselves. Planning an uprising if they didn’t get the answers that they wanted.
The fake Nisha was also preparing for this. As soon as the whole of Mythos gets devoured and the fight in the heavens begins, she’d be able to gain even more power. Not only this but she’d also gain a valid excuse as to why she would murder the other gods and make them descend upon the other worlds.
Pier had everything figured out. Things were still moving according to his plan but then, there was a variable that added. Something which can upset this balance he created. One which was poorly cleaned up and finished by Glade.
“I-I’m alive?”
Within the shores of the Elven Continent, Quinn came out of a [Dimensional Rift] with his body barely holding on. His breathing was rugged and paced and his own heartbeat thumbed so strongly that he felt it from his chest. His clothes were torn and all but nevertheless, there were no injuries sustained.
“How am I even alive? Vask what’s going on?” Quinn asked but nobody was answering him. In fact, it almost felt like the Monarch disappeared entirely.
“Vask? He tried again, thinking that the Monarch was probably unconscious somehow. Yet the only answer he got were the sound of the waves crashing to the shores.
“Va – ”
“For goodness sake kid. Can you not sound like a lost child in the middle of the forest?” Quinn didn’t understand why but, he felt relieved that the Monarch was still alive. There was a bond that developed between them after all and, although it started out rather roughly for Quinn, he has learned to understand the Monarch.
“I thought you bit the dust already.”
“Why you arrogant little. I was just resting! That sudden attack made against us had me concentrating every fiber of my being to creating a space where we could travel. Lucky for you, I’m a genius.”
“Well I can’t even seem to get up. I just want to ask if the place where you teleported us is safe.” Quinn tried moving his body over and over again. But he was just so weak, to the point that his body felt numb.
“Of course it is. Just stay there and sleep until both of us restores some energy. I already know what we’ll do next.” Vask said in a reassuring tone.
“What would that be?”
“I made a way for us to go where the new Blood King is.” Quinn knew exactly who Vask meant. It was Zeke.
“Wait… so does that mean…”
“We’re going to have a temporary truce with him.”
