The Gamer’s System - Chapter 277
The clash between Zeke and Quinn’s spells caused time to stop itself. Even without having to make use of Vardus’ powers, Zeke and Quinn was able to forcefully halt the movement of time. Both of them didn’t know what happened exactly.
Things were a bit fuzzy. All they remembered was that they casted their skills and clashed straight ahead without any intention of dodging. That was probably the reason why, Zeke was so surprised after seeing his own arm chopped off from the left shoulder down.
“Huh, would you look at that. You guys really did a number on me huh.” Blood was gushing out of the gamer’s wound and his arm was floating just above the sea.
“Look who’s talking.” He looked at Quinn who was just in front of him; head resting on his shoulders.
It may look like Quinn was able to win with that single trade but, in fact, Zeke was able to do much more. The last sword of the [Thousand Fangs] was able to stab through his heart. Creating a gapping hole where his chest was supposed to be.
Quinn already lost any ability to speak. And, the only reason why he was able to communicate was because Zeke’s [Party Function] still being active on him.
“This is goodbye kid. I forgot to mention it to all of you but, even your memories of this journey will be washed away.”
“That’s so like you mister Zeke.” With this, Quinn’s consciousness completely faded. Making his remains tun into light particles that vanished right away.
“Well. I guess this is good bye kid.”
[Notice: All members of the elites have been successfully sent back to earth.]
[Notice: Their wishes have been automatically granted by the heavens.]
“At least I can rest easy knowing they’d be safe and happy.” Zeke thought as he looked at the tongues of fire floating around him.
[Notice: Soul imitations have been left by the said elites. These can be Conjured and added to the gamer’s army.]
“Yes, let’s do it.”
A black mass surrounded him at that point. These rose into large pillars of flames and, out of them emerged the members of the elites, all on their new [Conjured] forms.
“That takes care of step two. Now onto the next part.”
[Information: With all of the latest achievements added together, the Ancient Spell has acquired 100% completion. All the points in the Skill Shop will be used in order to purchase it. Will this be okay?]
“Yes.”
[Understood. The Ancient Spell’s data will now be integrated into the gamer’s skill set.]
[Please wait…]
Zeke was preparing for the final stage of his plan. With all that just happened, all he needed to do was to take care of the Mythos dwellers and he could proceed to entering the heavens.
He was sure that it would be rowdy there right at that moment. Especially because, he knew that the stronger version of Pier would definitely be fighting against the other gods at that point. But it is also because of this exact reason that, he knew his plan would work.
[The Ancient Spell has successfully been added.]
“Okay good.”
Zeke was indifferent to everything that was happening at that point. Things would simply be smooth sailing for him because, the harder parts were already dealt with. He thought it to be weird and unpleasant at the same time – thinking that there wasn’t even any point to life if there was no thrill of the battle anymore.
“I guess this world’s vanity did consume me a little huh.” He said to himself as he realized this.
The gamer proceeded to the [Grand Chariot] casted by Samael. To where the Windsprites, Heron and Morpheus were. He knew that they would be surprised with what was happening but, he was nevertheless ready to give them what they deserved.
“Okay Samael, you can release it now.”
[Grand Chariot] shattered slowly and, as the mass of blackness disappeared, out came the four valiant warriors. With all of them prepared to fight the gamer. But instead, what they received was surprise as they saw Zeke Elwood bowing in front of them.
“Oh come on Zeke how am I gonna shoot you down now!” Sylph said, lowering her bow and arrow.
“Everyone. Thank you for all you’ve done for me. Words alone cannot even describe how much I’m grateful for all that you’ve done for the sake of this selfish mission of mine.”
The only reason why Zeke placed them in [Grand Chariot] in the first place was because, he wanted to give separate send offs to the two group. The elites had quite a different version of this. Needing to be killed by the gamer one by one in order to return to earth. But nothing of the sort was required for the Mythos dwellers.
“What on earth is happening Zeke?” Allesiah asked, confused with how the events were turning out. Zeke raised his head and looked at them with genuineness in his eyes.
“I know that you have a lot of questions and, I’m sorry that I cannot even answer them all but, what I can guarantee is that this would be the last time we’d be seeing each other.”
All of it was too sudden for them. Nobody was prepared for that moment, not even Zeke’s loyal servant Heron nor the child prodigy Morpheus who began crying.
He then snapped his fingers, placing them all on a kind of barrier that prevented them from speaking. He didn’t want to add to any more regrets nor did he have time for it unfortunately. Among the mortals, it was only Zeke who was aware that, the universe was already a ticking time bomb at that point. And he wasn’t about to let it all disappear to darkness.
Hence, he began speaking. Directing his farewells one by one to the four of them.
“Sylph, you have been a good leader and teacher to the elites in my absence. You are a reliable ally who can also be stubborn at times. But nevertheless, you are still the most gallant and graceful.” Sylph was banging on the barrier, using her dagger in order to shatter it. But it was no use. Zeke was already on the level of the gods at that point and so were the tier strength of his spells.
“Farewell.” Zeke snapped his fingers again, teleporting Sylph out of that area and into the Elven Continent. She lost consciousness right way, preventing her from going after the gamer. He also added something else to the spell. A memory distorter, ensuring that she and the other three won’t ever remember him nor the elites that came.
“Heron, you have always been a person who lived for the sake of others. First to your own mother and then for me. I have grown fond of you throughout our journey and I have treated you more than a servant. I’ve treated you like my own family.” Heron was crying through the barrier, pleading to be let out and to at least hug Zeke but, the gamer did not allow this.
“All I want is for you to live for yourself from now on. You are free.” Zeke snapped his fingers, leaving only Morpheus and Allesiah.
“Mory, I don’t know if I’m even fit to be called your father. I’ve always been busy at work and have only paid attention to your growth as a warrior. I know that I’ve neglected a lot of your emotional side and, there’s really no way to get all that time back. But I know that you’ll be a fine man someday and you don’t even have to impress me anymore. To me, you are and always will be my pride and joy.” Zeke snapped his fingers, sending Morpheus off.
This left him with only Allesiah. And just as he predicted, the elf was able to shatter his barrier. Using her superior eyesight skills in order to perform this feat.
“Allesiah.”
“Don’t give me that shit!” It was the first time Zeke heard her so furious. Disregarding the part where she was brainwashed, it was Allesiah’s real anger that was showing at that moment.
“You’re saying goodbye? You’re leaving us behind? I didn’t come all this way just to get separated from – ” Before Allesiah could even finish, Zeke’s soft and warm lips touched hers.
It was the first time that the gamer took the initiative. A passionate kiss that showed all that he truly felt for Allesiah.
The elf wrapped her arms around him as tears formed on the corner of her eyes. And, just like that, Zeke’s lips left hers. They stared at each other for a few seconds before Allesiah buried her face on his chest.
“Allesiah, no words could even begin to explain how I truly feel for you. My emotions are a bit slow on the uptake to be honest but, I’m sure that I’ve never desired someone as much as I’ve desired you. I’ve never thought of someone as much as I’ve thought off you. And no smile has ever made my heart flutter as you have so effortlessly done time and time again.”
“Why are you only saying those words now you idiot!” Allesiah said, grabbing on to him like he could disappear at any moment.
“Because there’s no room for my own ego in this personal mission of mine. I can’t be stopped by anyone, not even by my own feelings for the sole woman I love.”
“Zeke…” The gamer kissed her again. More intimate than he did before, holding her in ways that made Allesiah feel like she was a woman whom he desired – her and only her.
This was probably why she didn’t feel the spell that Zeke slowly casted on her. Restraining all her powers so that she couldn’t repeat the same thing. The gamer then pushed her away and snapped his fingers, placing Allesiah back inside the barrier.
“I hope that you find someone better my love.” Zeke snapped his fingers and, just like that, he was all alone again. But just a few seconds after everyone departed, Zeke began moving again.
“Conjure.” Out came Vardus, Zeke’s key to going to his destination.
“Let’s go buddy, I have gods to kill.”
