The Gatekeeper - Chapter 19 Little Girl
Hey guys,
I know y’all waited for a week for this chapter, sorry for the wait. I just wanted to say the chapter will be coming at a slower pace,
-Why? you may ask.
Well School just started for me, and I need to focus on school, and this book comes secondary to that.
-Will I drop this book?
No, I will not. This book is in its planning phase and has one volume completed and an extra volume waiting to be published.
-Will I take a long hiatus like last time?
No, I will not, the chapters will not be consistent on a daily basis, but they will be there. Also, I might take a month hiatus on the month of December (Finals month) following parts of January as I will be attending to personal matters.
Anyways as always vote and leave comments, I would love to hear your thoughts on the book, especially theories on what might happen. Goodnight/Good morning y’all.
(inkstone won’t let me post over 500-word author comment, so sorry for putting it on the chapter)

“Little girl, wake up.” A silvery voice of a man said to a sleeping girl, his voice sounded like velvet and his mere suggestions felt like thoughts of your own creation. To the girl, this mere suggestion like a will of her own woke her from her stupor. The world in which the young silver-haired girl woke up in suggested malign intent as the air chocked her and the foggy miasma cocooned her.
“Such a sweet soul, caring for your poor younger brother yet so weak,” the voice entered her mind “do you know the pact that you poor little brother has made, his mere soul at the cusp of the devil.” the voice like sanguine tune to the girl.
“Poor girl, poor little Hildegard… what do you truly desire?” A tall, swarthy man appeared in front of the cocooned girl. The miasma around her body seemed to waver at the presence of the man as it rolled off her in torrential waves, the black mist-like substance entered her body leaving behind marks that marred her white porcelain-like skin. Her once fragile appearance replaced with a sturdy build of a young girl at the cusp of teenagehood. On her left hand a mark, the mark possessing no form or shape, always changing.
“I know what you desire, and I know the pain that you kept. The sorrow… oh the sorrow.” The once pained girl looked at the man whose face was covered by the shadow of his hat revealing nothing but red suggestive eyes.
for visiting.
“Now now no need to doubt me, I will give you all that you want, your future yours to determine. No trickery, no matter what kind of trouble you are possessed by you will prevail… ” the man showed the girl his gloved hand, giving the suggestion to shake the hand “All you have to do is shake my hand.” the man placed his hand on his cane seeing the girl show hints of doubt on her face.
“As a boon of my sincerity, I will give you a portion of my power.” the man said as the whole red word shook at his jolliness.
“What do you mean?” the girl spoke, her voice but a wisp to the ear of the man.
“Girl do you see that mark on your hand, that is my mark.” the cane pointed at her left hand patting it “In this world, all will bend to your will, that is my gift. Call upon my name and no mortal or god shall stand in your way.” The girl looked at the mark her face showing a burning desire like none that she ever possessed, her once weak timid appearance changed to that of a burgeoning warrior.
“Be prepared, for once you call upon my name our pact shall be made whole.
“What is your name?” the girl said her eyes showing a heroic spirit.
The man looked at the girl as the shadow covered his being hiding him from the girl’s sight “Many call me different names, I gladly accept them all,” the man’s voice took a tone similar to that of the girl as he appeared behind her, his form now a mirror to the little girls. “And so my dear Hildegard don’t fret over such silly questions, you know my name already, for many call upon my name, and many in the same state as you.”
——-
The dark abyss calls unto all.
The power that we take consumes all.
It corrupts us, makes us.
Woe unto them that do not realize this folly.
We called them _____.
__________ call to you, to ________.
