The Gatekeeper - Chapter 3 The Powers That Be
This was a dark place, it was a place wholly unknown and known . In this place was a dark mist, about which orbs made of light that intertwined and unwind, that came to be out nothing and dispersed to nothing, the orbs were different colors and shapes they seemed to show images and matters unknown and things of the past – all this was but a speck of what was beheld unto the darkness which cannot be understood by any being that was mortal. From the dark, voices could be heard.
“Veritas in sanguine fluit”
“Veritas in sanguine fluit”
“Veritas in sanguine fluit”
“Veritas in sanguine fluit”
“Veritas in sanguine fluit”
“Veritas in sanguine fluit”
“Veritas in sanguine fluit”
From those words the dark place trembled and the Orbs of light that were ceased to be and the things that were shown dispersed.

Today was very hot, so I couldn’t help but sweat, I didn’t really mind though, but what I really care about is why there’s two moons in the sky. I wanna ask mother but I can see mother by our tents talking with father, there’re whispering to each other so I can’t hear what there’re saying – they look serious. So I ignore them and look around and I see our horse Ol’ Mac, I wanna go to where he is but stop and turn around. Instead I feel like I should go find Hild, I think she’s with Glynd’s sister – so I don’t go.
“SIMMUND!, SIMMUND!, SUMUND!” a loud voice calls my name, so I turn around and I see a thin boy with bright yellow hair and green eyes. He’s running very fast in my direction.
“GLYND, BE CAREFUL OL’ MAC MIGHT HIT YOU!” I yell back at him. Glynd finally gets to where I am, he’s sweating just like me his hair is even sticking on his forehead. He looks at me.
“I know what your going to ask, and no I don’t know” I tell him.
“Isn’t it cool though?” He laughs. I shake my head
“I don’t think so.”
“Why!” he asks me.
“First of all that’s not the most important question. The guys in white who are they? Secondly who or what is the Throne? Thirdly why do our parents act like this is normal?” I tell him.
“I dunno the answer to your question, but you can ask your parents.” Glynd smiles as he answers me
“Did you asks you parents?”
“I did…but they didn’t tell me anything” He says with a goofy smile on his face.
“That weird.” I say out aloud, Glynd laughs and we decide to go to where his family is, I look around to see if I can find his sister – I don’t see her. I see Glynd mother though, she’s a small thin lady and has the same yellow hair that Glynd has but brown eyes. She smiles at me so I go and say high to her Glynd follows behind me.
“Mom, when are we gonna get there” Glynd asks his mother.
“We still have three days and a half.” she says in a sweet voice “Remember to come back in twenty minuets”
“Ok mom.” he reply’s back, and turns to look at me and I look back.
“So where are we going?” I ask him
“Some place fun.” He tells me back, and so I follow him.
