The General Who Hates Me - 363 May and Riley
Time flew very fast and after a few months, the wedding day of May and Riley finally came.
May and Riley invited very few guests apart from their families, just a few closest friends and near relatives were invited on their wedding day. They held the ceremony in a garden filled with colorful wildflowers.
May wore a dress embellished with lacy flowers, and Riley wore a calla lily boutonniere in his tuxedo.
The traditional program went well. The couple thanked all their guests for being with them in their most special moment.
Keira was crying hard with joy as she watched May who looked very happy and content.
“Who would have thought that glutton will marry first, before you, Lana. I once thought that she would end up being an old maid because she did not show any signs of being interested in a relationship,” commented Drey. He was seated on one table with Keira and Lana as May’s entourage.
“Yeah. I’m so happy for her…” Keira muttered still sobbing. Then she looked at Lana as she wiped her tears. “You’re the only one left…” Keira bantered.
Lana twitched her mouth and said, “I hate men and you know that. I can be friends with them but definitely not be romantically involved with anyone. I will simply end up marrying on paper, without emotions, if only needed someday.”
Drey chuckled and teased, “Hmm, I will wait for the day when I’ll remind you, your own words that you just said… the day when you’ll eat your words Atty. Lana Huang.”
Lana grinned, hearing the word attorney in her name made her really happy. “Yeah right. We should celebrate your passing at the board exam.” Keira said.
“Let’s do it once May is back from her honeymoon.” Responded Lana. May and Riley were to fly that night to a private island for their honeymoon.
The couple were having their pictures taken while the waiters started to serve the meals to the guests.
Riley reddened with the meaningful and teasing smiles he received from Zach and Cobra as the two congratulated the newlywed couple. “I thought Riley is a naive boy. I guess I was wrong… Who would have thought that he could be as fast as lightning…” commented Cobra as he shook his head.
Zach gave Riley a hug and a gentle pat on his shoulder as he murmured, “Congratulations and welcome to the club!”
“Thank you General!” Burst Riley. He was very grateful that he had crossed paths with Zach because his life had become meaningful after that. And most importantly, he had met the woman who would be his lifetime partner, the woman who gave more meaning to his life.
Everything went smoothly and the couple said their farewell to their guests to head towards the airport to catch their flight. However upon their arrival at the airport they came to know that an unexpected calamity had happened on the island that they were supposed to go to, thus all flights to their destination were cancelled.
They were highly disappointed in this sudden hurdle in their much awaited honeymoon and Riley then called their travel agent and discussed other locations and flights to go to. Their booking and destination were quickly changed and the couple stayed at a hotel nearby the airport, to wait for their new flight.
Riley suggested that they should go back to the reception where the guests were still enjoying the talks, drinks and food. But May refused saying it would be best to stay in the nearest hotel, since both of them were already tired.
Riley was sweating, sitting on the edge of the bed, as he waited for May to finish cleaning herself up in the bathroom.
‘Geez, what is wrong with me!’ He scolded himself for becoming nervous. He could feel the sporadic beating of his heart in duo with the butterflies rumbling in his stomach.
Finally he heard the clicking of the bathroom door. He was sitting on the bedside table with his bathrobe on.
May stepped out in her bathrobe and looked at him with her playful smile followed by a blink of her one eye. In one swift motion, the robe covering her body fell on the floor and Riley’s jaws dropped with his drooling look.
May was wearing a white front buttonhole lingerie hollowed-out sling, courtesy of her most mischievous friend Keira. She enjoyed the hunger she could see in her husband’s eyes but for some reason Riley seemed to be glued to his seat, not moving a single bit.
She giggled because this was a scenario she already predicted. She walked seductively towards Riley and abruptly pulled the tie on his robe.
May was standing before him and teasingly asked, “Are you going to just look at me?”
…….
Meanwhile at the wedding venue, Zach, Jeru, Drey, Cobra and the rest enjoyed the gathering like it was a good reunion and were enjoying the drinks and chats.
The center of their banterings was none other than Cobra who was left out to be single. Cobra remained quiet the whole time
“Dude, are you sure you don’t prefer the same gender?” Teased Torin who enjoyed Cobra’s gloomy face in his weirdest expression. Cobra finally opened his mouth and simply countered, “I don’t need to rush. Men don’t expire I believe so what’s the rush? It will eventually come my way…
The women on the other side listened to their husbands who ganged up to tease Cobra more.
“Poor man… But Cobra is a good man so he will soon find his right one.” Commented Cielo. Keira laughed and said, “he will need a bit of tuning and I’m already on it. Gosh, the man has a tendency to end up an old maid. Like my friend right there…” commented Keira, nuzzling to Lana not far from their table and was busy debating with May’s cousin that was also an attorney.
May was married already so her main goal now was to make her friend Lana stop her man hating attitude.
“Are you alright?” Keira heard Cielo. She turned her head back and saw Thea holding her stomach. Her eyes rounded… If she was right Thea’s due would be in two weeks, could it be…
“Ahh, I think my baby wants to rip my stomach open,” Thea cried and felt her water break out. Keira quickly shouted, “Jeru! The baby is coming!”
