The Genius’ First Love - Chapter 590
As planned, L’Empire announced Edmund Huang and Dian’s engagement in her own debut party and although she pretended she was the happiest in front of the guest, she was raging mad inside.
For the first time in her life, she felt that being the perfect flawless daughter was like a prison, probably more than a prison actually, because normally when people are released from prison they can go on with their lives, but Dian’s circ.u.mstance was far from that. The door to her prison cell was open but she refused to leave because even when things fall apart, she can’t turn her back from being the Lagdameo’s perfect second miss. The risk was far too great for her to sacrifice it all, or probably she didn’t have all the courage to do so like both Dannah and Darryl did.
Her siblings then went over yonder and rebelled to chase their dreams but Dian’s dream was inside L’Empire itself and she wasn’t ready to give it up. With all the things L’Empire had her do, even sacrificing her own dignity for its sake, Dian believed she was then more rightful to become its successor than any of the Lagdameo’s children are. She refused to be just two hundred millions dollars worth, she must in any way possible be worth L’Empire itself.
Now that L’Empire pushed her at the edge, she must have it then. She already sacrificed her reputation and dignity for it so why not take it all? Previously all she wanted was to be a part of L’Empire, one of the executives perhaps, a board member or simply just a head of any department but now, the betrayal that L’Empire did for her made her too greedy to want the emperor’s seat by then. Darryl didn’t want it right? All he cared about was the woman he loved, he won’t hesitate to give her the throne!
After her debut party, Dian stayed at the hotel where the party was held. She had plans for the night and such plans involved getting a bit of justice for herself. It was true that in order to get a hold of L’Empire’s successor seat she had to be obedient and marry Edmund Huang, after all the Huang can be beneficial for her in the future. The Huang Incorporated was number six in the companies ranking in this country and so she understood pretty well when her father sold her off to them. However, marrying Edmund Huan doesn’t mean she forgave him, all the more make it too easy for him. If he thinks the torture Franco gave him was enough, then he was wrong.
There was a knock on the suite the Lagdameo’s second miss was in and when the door opened, Edmund Huang came in timidly as if he was some puppy not wanting to make a mess. He had learned his lesson well in Franco’s arms and knew very well he was in no position to go against Dian. He was lucky she agreed to marrying him, if not, his family would have surely abandoned him for good even if he was their only heir. If that was the case, his body should have been fed to the sharks and not even his own father would mourn for him.
Seeing that he was afraid to even look at her eyes, Dian laughed. “Are you not going to greet your fiancé a happy birthday?”
“Ha-happy birthday second miss,” Edmund replied, cursing himself for looking so foolish then. Previously he was once a proud man and yet Franco Lagdameo made him peed in his own pants that he had lost all his balls and confidence. He had seen how his friends suffered too with their foolishness and knew first hand how ruthless L’Empire was.
“That’s right Edmund Huang, call me second miss,” Dian was amused with the transformation of what once was a proud young master. “You have no right to call me with my name even when I will be your wife,”
Edmund didn’t answer and just continued looking down, very careful not to upset the girl. Aside from Franco Lagdameo had warned him not to lay a hand on the second miss, his father also strongly cautioned him not to make Dian upset in any way. He must not do so or he would be thrown out of their house for good.
Although Edmund’s father once told him that Lagdameo women were not greatly acknowledged in L’empire, it doesn’t mean he didn’t like Dian. As a partner of L’empire for long, he had seen himself how competent and great Dian was in business. She interned and worked for L’Empire and Master Huang himself had witnessed her achievements. He knew then that despite the fact they took big debts just to please the Lagdameo clan to gain their consent for the marriage of their children, Dian will be very beneficial to the Huangs especially that unlike L’Empire, they are not so rigid about patriarchy. In their family, once you are competent, even if you are a girl or a boy, you can have all your chances. Master Huang then knew he got the jackpot when Dian will become his daughter in law and he was very willing to give her the Huang Incorporated specially that his son was a good for nothing brat who did nothing but bring his family shame. If there was one good thing his son did, it was only the fact that he was legally capable of marriage and he was lucky enough to get Dian and L’Empire’s consent.
“You can look at me.Its very impolite not to even spare your fiancee a glance,” Dian ordered him and even though he was hesitant, he could do nothing but just obey all her words. As he raised his head to cast her glance, he was surprised to see the girl in a thin silk red night robe sitting crossed legged on a queen sized bed before him. Her flawless legs peeked through the slit of her robe as if not bothered by his presence and the way her chest curved, it was obvious she wasn’t wearing anything under her robe.
Edmund swallowed at the sight before him. When did the second miss become so daring she wasn’t even bothered to be seen by him this way? If things weren’t bad between them, Edmund would surely assume Dian was trying to seduce him.
“You might be wondering why I consented to this marriage,” Dian uttered. She had seen the desire that rose in Edmund’s eyes and laughed inwardly at how he reacted.
