The Genius’ First Love - Chapter 607
When both men jumped off the bridge Dian stopped running to catch her breath. No one was chasing her anymore so she took a break. Things happened so fast and the adrenaline rush dried her throat. She was almost caught but instead of worrying, she laughed hard like a wicked villainess as if all the things that happened and the blood that was shed amused her to the full. Ironically, her tears were falling from her eyes as she was laughing hard.
“Hahahahaha!” She laughed continually and her voice sounded like a thunder subduing every pain, misery and hatred in her heart. She knew she had lost it all the moment her brother saw all her misdeeds and that she’ll never ever have L’Empire then. Immediately, because of what happened today, her dreams shattered pieces by pieces.
“Foolish,” Dian heard herself say something and cussed but she was not sane anymore to know and care about anything. The truth that Dannah slapped to her face sent her mind into a place where there was nothing but a l.u.s.t for blood and violence. Right then, the dark evils that she saw rising earlier had overtook her and the once dignified second miss everyone knew evaporated into the dusk.
Dian, who was half crying and laughing, recovered her breath immediately and as if hunting, she surveyed the bloodied surface of the bridge. She saw Dannah’s body lifeless in the center of it while a pond of blood covered her. Further away, she caught the sight of Xhemin running away with Wolfe. The mother was carrying the boy in her arms. They were of far off distance, safe and away from her grab, but not of her bullets.
And so, with a wicked smile on her face, she raised a gun and aimed at the mother and son!

Xhemin dared not to look back, she was afraid to look and learned of the fatality she left behind. She had seen Dannah being shot and without thinking through, her instinct enabled her to grab Wolfe from Dannah and run as fast as she could. She heard more bullets being shot, Darryl’s screams and more rush, yet and as much as she wanted to help them, Wolfe had to be prioritized. She worried about Willow too but she can’t just save two both so with all of her, she rushed out of the dangerous zone and made sure Wolfe was safe before she comes back and helped the rest.
A minute more and she heard Dian’s laugh. Her laugh was like a howling wind, ready to consume and swept anyone. Hearing it, she knew something happened back there that was far worse than she expected, if not, Dian would have not laughed victoriously like that. There was some force that wanted her to look back but for the sake of the child she was carrying in her arms, she choose not to.
When Dian’s laughing stopped, Xhemin knew she was up to something, probably more evil than she had already done. There were no screams of Darryl nor of Ziggy so Xhemin knew she and Wolfe were Dian’s next target. He wondered what could have happen to Darryl and the youngest sire but she was in no position to even check. They were all about to die and if since surface of the bridge was soo open, there was simply no spot to hide from Dian’s attack . So Xhemin then could only run as farther than she could, hoping she and Wolfe were too far away for Dian’s bullets already. She prayed hard, harder than she had ever done in her entire life, asking God to spare her children from the second miss’ violence.
“Wolfe my baby,” She called on her while they were on the run for their life.
“Imma,” Wolfe swallowed his cries. Like his Imma, he worried about her Dada and President Dee and hoped he could just erase in his mind the scene of the third miss falling in her knees. Things were so sudden, too dark and too bloody for his innocent mind.
“If anything happens…,” Xhemin cleared her throat as it had gone dry already. “If anything happens to me, run okay? Run as far as you could, up to the gate and hide. Someone will come to rescue us any minute. So until then hide okay? Hide until you see the prince of your uncle Ang,”
“Yes Imma,” Wolfe simply did not protest. He knew things would be harder for his Imma if he acted scared or doubtful. He didn’t want to leave her no matter what but he knew in this dangerous time, his Imma knew better than he does and so he would obediently do as told.
B-A-N-G!
A last bullet had been fired and Xhemin knew she had no escape. She didn’t fear death as much as she feared it now because right then, she wasn’t sure if her children would be spared. For a moment, she closed her eyes, hugged Wolfe tighter than she could and blessed him knowing it could be the last time she can have the chance.
With eyes closed, Xhemin waited for the pain to subdue her but instead, a force drove and turned both her and Wolfe around and wrapped them in warmth. Xhemin, who was shocked by the sudden help, opened her eyes and saw the prince, Huzey in front of her. Wolfe was in between them and the way Huzey’s back was facing Dian, she knew he sacrificed himself to save them both.
Xhemin started shaking. Huzey’s ocean blue eyes looked down at her with mixed expression that ended in relief. The Dugmoch’s miss was aware that a bullet had been fired and feared that Huzey had been shot!
“Huzey….” Xhemin’s tears fall. She didn’t expect this sudden twist of fate. She was ready to sacrifice her life for her son but Huzey did it instead of her.
Huzey saw both of them running back to the edge of the bridge and so he ran to aid them, just in time when he heard a bullet being shot. Things was soo sudden and as his instinct rushed, he found himself shielding them both for whatever was to come.
“My prince….” She uttered his name again and she could feel Wolfe in her arms also raised his head to look at the prince. The boy’s face fell when he realized it was the Huzey who came and shielded them from Dian’s bullet.
