The Genius’ First Love - Chapter 623
Darryl was standing in his room early morning while Dannah was in front of him fixing his tie. It was his first day back in L’Empire and a board meeting was waiting for him. He had asked his assistant to schedule one as he was to announce big changes in L’Empire then. He had been planning it for months already after he had thought things through. He thought then his three month stay in the hospital got him some time to consider things and decide based on what he thought was the best for all of them.
“Hmmm, done,” Dannah announced and stepped back a bit to get a good view of his brother. Satisfied, she added. “Well you look like President D,”
Darryl just gave her sister a smirk. “I thought you’d come with me to office today,”
“I have other business to attend to,”Dannah replied. He was still Darryl’s head secretary then but after she received an important call this morning and she decided to attend on it.
“More important than your brother?” Darryl sulked.
“Yes,” She replied, shutting all of Darryl’s attempt to make her come with him.
“Aish!” Darryl protested but he understood it might be something important. Besides, Dannah had taken care of L Empire after she was discharged and as some reports reached him, she had been working days and nights to recover their losses after the accident that happened. Right now, L’Empire recovered fully with good month’s statistics and so Darryl knew Dannah’s hard work paid off well. She well deserved the off she requested then. “The way you are acting, it made me curious where you are going today.”
“I’ll tell you later,” Dannah promised. “Right now you have to focus on the meeting because I’m very sure they’ll roast you off alive,”
Darryl had opened about his plans to Dannah and although the latter had her reservations and personal protest on Darryl’s decision, she fully supported him. After all, it was Darryl’s life and future he was speaking about and for the first time, he had decided something for himself and although Dannah didn’t like it, she’s good with it as long as he knew it was for his betterment.
“Alright,” Darryl sighed deep. He knew what was waiting for him in L’Empire after he made all his decisions clear but he had already decided. Besides, he decided everything based on what he thought was right and proper provided the circ.u.mstances. He just hoped that at the end of the day, people will come to accept whatever he decided on with an open heart and full understanding.
“Are you ready?” Dannah turned serious this time. Her question was full of unsaid words, more like asking Darryl if what he had decided on was final because although she wanted to support him, she was not sure whether she can live with it. However, she knew the choice wasn’t hers to make and so the only thing she could do was be with him all the way.
Darryl sighed and c.a.r.e.s.sed his sister’s hair. He knew her position in his decision and although she had her doubts, he was glad she chose to support her because these days Dannah was one of the people that was giving him strength.
“I am,” He answered, fully determined. “Don’t worry everything will be alright,” he promised her and Dannah only gave her a smile and kissed him on the cheeks before she sent him off. She walked with him until he stepped into his car and stood watching Darryl as he left.
“May you be happy with what you have decided brother,” Dannah whispered in the air and blew deep meaningful sighs. She stood there for a while but her solitude was disturbed when her phone rang.
“Yes? How was she?” Dannah asked through the line. The same person called her earlier and he was the reason why she decided not to join Darryl today. Something more important was coming on its way and she wanted to attend to it. “Alright. I’ll come,”
Dannah’s expression turned different when she dropped the call. She wasn’t sure what she was about to do but she thought of doing it for her own peace. She doesn’t know what she’ll find there but perhaps at the end of it, something good was waiting for her. Who knows?

Leigh Group of Companies
Xhemin was in the middle of a bulk of doc.u.ments that needed her signature. Clay called her presence in LGC for many things and this pile of doc.u.ments was one of those reasons. These days, she has thoroughly avoided going to the capital so she won’t be tempted to go and visit Darryl because until then her fears were real. Feather HealthCare reported that Darryl was doing fine and that his recovery went well but despite all assurances, Xhemin still feared that he’ll say goodbye to her the moment they met. She had her own trauma with the accident that happened and her greatest fear was to say goodbye to him again.
Besides, things between LCG and L’Empire these days are complicated. Although the lawsuits ended up in settlement, it was obvious the two companies don’t want to have anything to do with each other. L’Empire had withdrawn any possible connections they had with LGC and the latter did the same. They avoided each other as they all wanted to forget what happened and wanted to move on. For that to happen, they had to pretend each other doesn’t exist in each world.
There was a knock on Xhemin’s door and Clay appeared in a minute. With him were another stack of doc.u.ments. “These are the contracts for the ventures we have CEO Leigh. I had the legal department approved this already so I’m handling it to you for your perusal,”
“Thanks Clay,” Xhemin didn’t even raise her head when she replied. She had her focus on all the doc.u.ments spread in her table and didn’t want to think of anything else. Clay upon putting the doc.u.ments on her table stood in front of her for a while thoroughly having an inner debate whether he would tell Xhemin or not about what he recently learned.
Xhemin after a few minutes noticed his indifference. “What is it? Do you need something else?”
“It’s the Lagdameo heir’s first day today in L’Empire,” he spilled it all in one sentence only to regret it after. He saw how Xhemin’s expression changed and he didn’t like what he saw. She was not able to respond after a while so Clay thought of something so as not to make the situation awkward. “Should I send him a welcome back card?”
