The Genius’ First Love - Chapter 634
Everyone then held their horses, ready to listen to whatever Darryl had. They all have strong protestations about Xhemin leading but they too all believed Darryl was a reasonable man who wished nothing but the best for L’Empire.
“Our failure to protect Winter Lagdameo disqualified us all in leading L’Empire including myself, including Dannah Samuelle,” Darryl emphasized. “Our ancestors built L’Empire in wish for our lineage to continue to have resources as we keep multiplying. We failed to protect the lineage they entrusted to us, thus we are not worthy of L’empire anymore,”
“We know that,” Don Samuelle implicitly agreed with him. The once tense room sunk into a cold one, as they all remembered how the once glorious L’Empire fell on its pedestal when Winter Lagdameo died. “However, we can never change back the time anymore but still, with all this, I do not understand why CEO Leigh deserves L’Empire more than any of us. Even if she was Winter Lagdameo’s mother, she like us wasn’t able to protect him too,”
“You are right Don Samuelle,” Darryl turned his hazel eyes to him, and later to everyone in the room. “She was not able to Winter Lagdameo, but she was able to protect L’Empire’s future,”
Don Samuelle’s brows creased. Something in his heart warmed up that his ears very much awaited Darryl’s next words.
“How?” The confused Manuel Lagdameo asked, full of anticipation.
“By protecting Winter Lagdameo’s siblings,” Darryl made it known but everyone in the room was still confused. They somehow understood the gist of it but wanted to ask further. They all turned to each other, asking for confirmation.
“President D what do you mean?” Someone raised the question for everyone.
“The Montreal Twins are not Montreal,” Darryl went on. “They are my children. They are supposed to be Lagdameo Triplets if Winter had not died,”
“Goodness Gracious!”
“Oh God!”
“How could this be?”
“CEO Leigh had been protecting the children, that’s why she disappeared all these years,” Darryl continued his explanation despite everyone’s incredulity. The ambiance in the room warmed up and unlike earlier, the tension this time was brought not by anger anymore but by hope. “She came back because aside from LGC needed her, someone had been haunting them everywhere when they all wanted was peace,”
“Why didn’t she ask for any help from us?” Don Samuelle immediately became frustrated with the fact of how his great grandchildren suffered outside L’Empire.
“She cannot trust any of us right then. She thought it was L’Empire who had been hunting them,” Darryl answered her grandfather’s concern, “Provided the circ.u.mstances, we can’t blame her then,”
“It was probably my fault,” Manuel Lagdameo confessed, thinking about how he strongly disapproved of her before. “I had scared the girl away. It was six years ago, if I remember carefully it was around the time when Dr. Miles and the Montarini prince died. I learned it was Dr. Miles who raised her and she was close to the late diamond prince, she must have been too devastated then and alone,”
Darryl didn’t give more information about Xhemin’s identity as he was not in the place to tell so. Everyone in the capital knew already she was Ava Leigh and that Dr. Miles raised her but her origins, about being Dr. Melvin’s biological daughter was left a secret.
“Was this the reason why CEO Leigh was very interested in buying L’Empire before the accident happened?” Dante Lagdameo tried to thread all the events that took place prior as they learned of the children’s identity. “She wanted to see all of L’Empires activities to find the one who was trying to get them,”
“It was a good move,” Franco acknowledged, “And here we are all thinking she was one greedy businesswoman like her late father CEO Chan. When all this time, she was just a mother desperately protecting her children,”
“And she was right with her suspicions,” Someone added. “It was really L’Empire who were trying to kill the children. Now that all these were revealed, I now understand what happened in the bridge,”
Before this revelation, L’Empire thought what Dannah and Darryl did was just save Xhemin’s children to prevent their sister from committing a huge crime when the truth was that they were intentionally saving the children as they were Lagdameo’s.
“Dian thought she could have a chance of having L’Empire if she can stop us all from bearing children,” Darryl explained Dian’s desperation. “But she learned that Wolfe and Willow were Lagdameo so she tried to kill them just like she did with Winter,”
Everyone sucks all the information. Different emotions came with all their shock but what rose above it all was the relief that hopefully, L’Empire can continue living on.
“I guess all the things I’ve said was enough for you to finally understand why Dannah and I decided to give the Lagadmeo’s share to her,” Darryl concluded. “She is not a stranger to L’Empire afterall. She is the mother of the two promising Lagdameo heirs. When it’s the right time, she can choose for herself who to succeed from Willow and Wolfe,”
This time, no objections were said but Manuel Lagdameo, managed to raise an arm to voice one of his concerns now that all these truths were revealed.
“I understand that the Montreal twins were all surnamed Montreal,” Manuel noted. They were all made to believe Willow and Wolfe were Ziggorioh Montreal’s children and so they both took his last name. “Now that their identities were revealed, I strongly suggest we took claims on them and have their last names be changed,”
“Goddam that old Zhanglou fool!” Don Sammuelle was then reminded of the time Zhanglou Montreal used his great grandchildren to strengthen his company, “I’m going to smack his face the next time he shames me! I’ll make sure the little heirs especially my little Willow, take the Lagdameo’s name,”
“Start that by appeasing their mother,” Darryl blurted out, a bit amused on how his grandfather was biased with Willow. “You have to remember that all depends on CEO Leigh, so you’d better be good to her or she’ll not return your grandchildren’s status to what it should be,”
“Aish! I really can’t take that woman but I guess we all have no choice at this point,” Don Samuelle blabbered and not even anyone said a word against it anymore, unlike the first time they heard Xhemin being the new L’Empire President, “She’s a good mother afterall. She’s a good businesswoman too, she can trained the little heirs early,”
After saying that, Don Samuelle stood on his feet ready to leave the room even when Darryl had not dismissed it yet.
“Father, we are not done yet,” Manuel tried to stop him.
“You finish what you want to finish. I can’t keep staying here .I have to go to the canteen and make sure we all serve strawberries,” He said grumpily. “Or else that little brat Willow will criticize me again on how poor L’Empire is because we don’t serve our employees strawberries. Do you want that?”
“Also she just also started out in Rivendell. Can you see how frustrated I am for not being able to send her to school by myself? It was me who brought Dannah Samuelle on her first day at school and God how I missed Willow’s first day of school! Foolish..foolish…that CEO Leigh should have told me this three months ago!”
“I’m going to fly to Hampshire now! Go and fix things here,” He said last as he headed off the door without looking back. “Make sure everything runs smoothly with CEO Leigh’s take over. I don’t want to have any compilations or else she’ll deny me my great grandchildren,”
Everyone chuckled inwardly at Don Samuelle’s words. They were all aware of how he was deeply affectionate with Willow even when he still didn’t know she was his blood. After that, the board was dismissed without much protest then and Darryl heaved a heavy sigh of relief at how things turned out.
Things are finally getting better, LGC and L’Empire can then fix their broken relationship for good with Willow and Wolfe’s existence. He was all hopeful it would all turn out good so he can leave in peace.
