The Genius’ First Love - Chapter 647
“Oh no, he didn’t,” princess Lana refused the claims. “The hero is very busy these days because he was helping with the preparations too. I just thought of taking the initiative since there was no woman in his house to do customs like this. I hope he don’t mind,”
Princess Song stared at Princess Lara for a while as a thought went through her. However as a respect for Maru who was supposed to be the center of attention then, she chose to not say anything.
“Thank you Highest princess,” Maru expressed her gratitude and as soon as she did, a handmaid went in and gave a curtsy.
“Miss Maru, we should enter the chamber now. The Handmaids are ready to dress and prepare you for the wedding”
“Very well,” Maru answered and said her farewells to the Highest Princess and Princess Song before she followed the handmaid.
As Maru went, Princessa Song, who had grown a little concerned about the situation, expressed it.
“Highest Princess, I don’t mean to offend but what you did today is a bit disrespectful,” The girl said, facing toward the highest princess who at the moment certainly didn’t expect Princess Song’s confrontation. “You are not a part of the Hero’s household so please get a hold of yourself when it comes to decision making within the Hero’s household,”
“Princess Song, I do apologize if my actions made you upset,” The highest princess replied gently. Although she was the Highest princess, she had acknowledged princess Song’s importance and so she explained, “The Hero’s household as I saw was understaffed and lacked some care. Although the Hero had made efforts to improve it, it still lacked the care only a woman in the household could give. Seeing the need, I opted to help as certainly Maru deserves a bowl of rice from the Hero for her wedding. It is just right,”
“The Hero ‘s household is not like any other household and he is a man. You cannot expect him to be concerned with the things only women can see and feel needed,” The little girl tells off continuously. “More so, you are only his guests,”
“Maru there are certain things that you cannot understand, especially that you are only a little girl. Me as a woman of age could see clearly that the Hero needs help. He needs someone to care for his household and someone who could care for him,” Her elder sister carefully explained. “Since he is the hero of Somer Isles, his house should be warm and welcoming for guest and only a lady trained for household politics and management can know that,”
“You mean you?” Only then did the Highest Princess’s intention become clear to her. “Highest Princess let me asked you this, do you planned to become a part of the Hero’s household,”
Princess Lana smiled and at the same time sighed at her sister’s surprised face. She understood that she was young and the c.a.r.e.s.s of the a.d.u.l.t woman—about marriage, family and duties was still not in her mind.
“It would rather be an honor for me to become one,” Princess Lana didn’t lie on it anymore. Why would she when it was the truth and that sooner of later, Princess Song had to live with that truth. As a young girl who was used to Darryl’s attention, she understood this was hard for her. “It is my deepest wish to care for the Hero of Somer Isles. As the Highest Princess it is my duty to serve our tribe and I will do that by making sure their Hero is well taken care of,”
“Highest Princess,” Princess Song met her head on. “I understand your sense of responsibility. And even though it looks like you felt that I felt threatened by my place being one of the princesses being doted on by the hero, I’m telling you this not because of that. I am telling you this because you are my sister and I don’t want you to get hurt,”
“Princess Song, that is not what I meant. Please—”
“No it’s you who needs to understand. The hero will never ever spare you a little of his attention. He will not take another woman, not even just a concubine in his house,” Princess Song slapped the truth to her. “Your hopes are nothing but foolish dreams and please step back and leave him alone before he realizes your intention. If he does, you’ll not like the outcome,”
“Princess Song, a man’s heart can always be tamed. And I understand that you are saying this with high devotion for the healer. I promise that I will not set his role or rights aside. I just want to be there for the Hero and I swear to you, my intentions are pure and honest. I want to serve him in all possible ways I could,” Princess Lana humbly replied to the girl’s warning. Truth was she was a bit upset that Princess Song, whom she thought was on her side, did tell her something like this. She did think that the little princess helped her stepped into the Hero’s house because she meant for her to be close to him, it turned out she understood it differently.
“Not all men are alike,” Princess Song replied. “I understand our ways allow our men to have many women but the hero is different. He swore to love and take only one woman and I’m sorry to say, you’ll hopes won’t stand a chance,”
“I am not asking him to love me, I just want him to take me and serve him,” Princess Lana defended continuously. “Please princess Song, I asked that you be lenient with this and help me be close with the hero. Besides, I intend to become a concubine only,”
“Did you once forget that our father didn’t take any concubine even when he was allowed by our laws previously when the first chieftain was still alive?” Princess Song reminded her of the story, “He did to prove that he needs no one but only the First Chieftain and after her, he didn’t give any women the same privilege as her. She was the only one,”
“It’s up to you if you will listen to me or not,” Princess Song added, ready to leave the conversation to rest. “I have no problems with you being the Hero’s concubine, but that simply isn’t possible. Good day to you Highest Princess, I shall my leave then,”
Princess Song walked past her, who at the moment was obviously not happy with the words her princess just told her. She turned and followed princess Song as she walked away from her, wondering whether to believe her not.
