The Genius’ First Love - Chapter 651
“Chieftain Enoch, we do not mean to disrespect,” Another guest stood to express his concern. Now that Illa Durray was dragged into the conversation, everyone got thoroughly concerned.
“The Highest princess even now was staying at the hero’s house, so you cannot keep people from wondering why. As much as they love the hero, they also respected the Highest Princess very well and her reputation was at risk, especially that the visions had confirmed she was to give the hero a child,”
“It was only right for people to suspect that the Highest Princess was taken by the hero as a concubine and I don’t understand why such a thing should cause great concern. The hero is like any of us, he can take as many wives as he wants and the Highest princess is the most powerful woman in the land, she can be a great concubine to the hero. She had even proven her importance to the hero when she take the responsibility of giving our Highest lady her bowl of rice,”
Chieftain Enoch was more displeased at what he had heard. He dragged his eyes then to the Highest Princess who at the moment flushed a pleased face and judging by her expression she seemed like she didn’t have any plans of clearing out his relationship with the hero. He was actually if the things they all said were true but Darryl’s expression as he knew well tells that what they all said wasn’t true. He wanted to step in and defend Darryl but he was the Chieftain now, he can just go on blabbering things to everyone’s disp.l.e.a.s.u.r.e and disrespect specially that the situation already involved Illa Durray, a great well respected seer.
Chieftain Enoch was still in the process of getting everything together when suddenly, the shaking Princess Song stood from her seat and immediately walked to the center. She then, with her very long dress and princessy pride, kneeled on the floor and bowed down.
“This is all my fault,” She expressed almost like crying. She was done with everyone’s misconceptions, assumptions and pretends that she thought of putting this act to save the hero’s reputation. No matter what, Darryl was his responsibility because he was the husband of the healer who saved her life. “My dear Baruk Tam and Highest Lady Maru, please accept my sincere apology. Chieftain Enoch and Hero of Somer Ilse, please also forgive my carelessness. I am ready for whatever punishment you will give me,”
“Princess Song,” Only when the youngest princess kneeled on his behalf did Darryl become concerned but before he stood and took her from her kneeling, Chieftain Enoch raised a question for her actions.
“Princess Song, what are you doing? How was all this your fault,”
“All these rumors started because of me and because of that, I bring great shame to the house of the hero,” Princess Song replied. “As I have heard from Elder Gu, people started the rumors that the hero had taken likes for the Highest Princess. That’s why he had asked her to live in his house but all these were not true. The Highest Princess was brought by me, it was me who took the initiative of inviting her in,”
It was the first time that the guest heard such an information and so they all raised a brow in it. The rumours was very clear that Darryl himself requested for the Highest princess to live in his house when right then, Princess Song claimed she was the one who invited her in.
“You invited her in?” Maru, who just became the highest lady in the Somer Village, inquired. She knew Princess Song was trying to clear the hero’s name and so she was kind of supporting her by asking her the right questions.
“Yes Highest Lady Maru,” Princess Song was glad Maru took her cue. “The Highest Princess was concerned that she might not be able to rest well in your household because of the preparations that had been ongoing and so out of worry, I asked her to stay with me in the hero’s house. The hero had no plans of taking her in but because the hero, as you all know—favors me a lot, he agreed to taking her in. He had his doubts then but I promised him that I will take care of the Highest Princess myself and that he need not to hire additional servants since the Highest Princess brought her entire household with her,”
She intentionally threw a shade for the Highest Princess right then. She made it appear that she needed her entire staff to serve her even when she’s at someone else’s house, making everyone know how inconvenient she was when she becomes someone else’s guest. Truth was she had no hard feelings for the Highest Princess as her sister seemed to be kind and considerate but seeing her these days tolerating all these rumours for her benefit made Princess Song see through her. Was she playing schemes all these times? If that is true, then she’s very good at it.
“You mean Princess Song it wasn’t the hero who invited her in?” Elder Gu was surprised to learn this. As far as he knew, they had prepared an entire wing for her and even assigned many staffed to accommodate her in the Baruk’s household but someone then came and told them the Princess Lana was invited by the hero to his house, so out of courtesy to the hero, they did not thought the thing as inappropriate. Only then did the truth about expressing dissatisfaction about what the Baruk’s household had for her felt utterly disrespected.
Princess Lana who was then sitting idly in her seat balled her fist. Gone were the smiles in her face earlier and the once composed face tensed up. She had long befriended and favored the Princess Song because she thought she was the true powerful princess at the central village being the Chieftain’s favorite. Spending years pleasing the little girl, she felt then of how ingrate she was and that it was easy for her to ruin her plans. Was her devotion to the healer more important than their sisterhood?
