The Genius’ First Love - Chapter 654
The banquet went on but like Darryl and Xhemin’s wedding, the newly wed were sent off to prepare for the wedding night. The Highest Lady Maru was taken to her chambers by the handmaids while Baruk Tam waited in his room. While the Baruk did so, Darrryl and Chieftain Enoch went to give him company.
“Baruk Tam, tonight is night,” Chieftain Enoch teased him. The Baruk was somewhat anxious as even though he was a man of great strength, the wedding night was something he looked forward to for a long time. It will be his first night with the love of his life and he was not sure he could fulfill all her d.e.s.i.r.es.
“Brother Dee, what is it like?” Barul Tam turned to Darryl and whose eyes went wide at his question. However, after a minute, his lips twisted, and an evil handsome grin went across his face.
“It was glorious…” Darryl said in a way that both the Chieftain and newlywed swallowed a lump in their throat. When the Lagdameo heard both of their weird reactions, he let go of a loud guffaw. “Ha..ha..ha”
The two joined his laughing after a minute and their room was filled with thorough warmth.
“I don’t know I’m sweating so suddenly,” Baruk Tam wiped his head off with his arm. His feelings then were mixed, and he was sighing every now and then.
“You are nervous,” Chieftain Enoch noted. “They said being nervous makes one’s knees weak,” He then touched Baruk’s knees and felt him shaking. “Ah it’s true,”
“I can’t help it,”
“Don’t worry I have a solution to weak knees,” Chieftain Enoch gave him a wild wink.
“What is it?”
“Just wait and see,” As soon as he said it, there was a knock on the door and all of them dragged their eyes to it.
“Who is it?” Darryl called.
“I come to bring the Chieftain’s request,” A familiar voice was heard. When Chieftain Enoch permitted it and the door flew open, Princess Lana came with a bottle in his hand.
“My sister,” Chieftain Enoch was surprised to see her, so were his two companions. “I didn’t expect you’d come here personally to bring me the bottle. You should have just ask a servant of yours,”
“How could I let a servant handle a Chieftain’s gift?” Princess Lana answered. The family of Princess Lana belonged to the Andra tribe. Their tribe makes the best wine and so the Chieftain’s winery was composed of people from their tribe. When he made his plans to attend the wedding in the Somer Isles, he asked someone from the Andra Tribe to prepare a special gift.
“A gift?” Baruk Tam was surprised. When he turned to Chieftain Enoch, the man gave him a big smile and raised his eyebrow twice as if he meant something, but he did not understand it. Darryl however, scrutinized the bottle Princess Lana was holding and immediately understood what the gift was.
“Yes, Baruk Tam, this wine was from the Messa of our tribe,” Princess Lana went and put the wine on the table in front of them. “The Chieftain asked me to bring it here,”
What she said was true. The Chieftain indeed tasked her to bring such wine and keep it until the wedding night. The reason why he asked Princess Lana to bring it was uncertain to her, but Darryl already understood why she was the one tasked to bring it.
“Then this must be a very special wine,” Baruk Tam commented innocently, which made Darryl and the Chieftain smile like hell.
“Princess Lana, you may go,” The Chieftain dismissed her.
“My brother Chieftain, if you may, I’d like to pour you some wine,” Princess Lana asked gently. “I have caused an uproar in the banquet earlier, allow me to pour you wine as an apology,”
“Very well,” The Chieftain accepted her request as there was no harm in it and it looked like she was very sincere in expressing her apologies. Princess Lana had always acted right and just as the Highest Princess and so he was glad then that she had accepted his verdict without hurt.
“For your greatness and good health Chieftain,” The princess first poured Enoch some wine and offered it to him with great respect. Next, she poured some wine to Baruk Tam and lowered her head, “Congratulations on your wedding Baruk Tam. I offer my greatest apologies for causing a commotion in the banquet,”
Lastly, she poured some wine to Darryl. It took her a longer time to do it as her hands were shaking but she was able to do so without spilling it. She then gave it to Darryl, “My greatest apologies hero for casting a shame to your reputation, I promise to act right the next time,”
Darryl only gave her a curtsy and the three brothers drank the wine she offered. As soon as the wine hit their throats, Baruk Tam’s eyes glow wide. He turned to look at Chieftain Enoch but dared not to say any word because Princess Lana was there. The princess however noticed their indifference and thought she was all making them uncomfortable and so after she was finished with pouring the first glass, she voluntarily dismissed herself.
“I shall take my leave then,” She said and bid them farewell. She closed the door of the chamber they were in and leaned her back for a moment. There was satisfaction in her eyes and her lips curled upwards before she left completely.
“What the heck!” Baruk Tam poured himself another glass and tasted the wine again. With thorough incredulity, he turned to the Chieftain, almost cursing. “Chieftain Enoch, how could you bring this wine to my house. If the council will know you steal this one again, we will all be in trouble,”
“Don’t worry Baruk Tam, no one will notice I sneak this one out again,” He assured. “That’s why I asked Princess Lana to secretly bring it to me saying it was a Messa’s gift. She’s from the Andra tribe so most of her gifts were wine and so having this included in her load didn’t make much of a suspicion,”
“But Princess Lana—”
“Don’t worry she knew nothing of this,” The Chieftain said. “Only Chieftains knew about this drink. The Highest Princess was not educated on it and so she did not suspect it much. Besides, cannot you see? I only took a little bottle,”
“Little or not, this is still a wild gin,” Baruk Tam chastised but poured himself another of it.
“You seemed not bothered that it was a wild gin,” Darryl raised a brow knowing how he kept drinking without bothering to offer him and Enoch.
