The Girl In The Louvre - Chapter 15 A Small Pawn Makes A Big Move 2
Pushing back his seat he got up and shook the hands the representatives of the clothing company. In today’s clothing market it was quite rare to find factories that cared about the safety and well being of their customers. It was even rarer to find a factory that cares for their employees, uses ethical materials, and actually creates high quality works in the end.
Yes, they are expensive and out of the range of your average citizen, but isn’t that what makes their brand so expensive? Julian could’ve opted to find a cheaper supplier that could have created clothes of similar quality, but they wouldn’t have the same ethical standards as the company that he just signed with.
Watching them walk off Julian could only pray that his gamble paid off. If fall line of clothing did not sell as well as he hoped he would have lost. His mother wasn’t one who forgave mistakes easily, and he had already disappointed her once earlier when he decided to forsake his birthright and not take up the position in the company that she wanted him to take.
‘If there is one thing that rich North Americans like it would be rare products,’ thought Julian. ‘I only hope that I can convince them that because what they are buying is ethical it must also be rare and expensive. If I want to do this the next step of my plan must go perfectly.’
Getting up out of his chair he stumbled and grabbed the chair in front of him as he fell on the floor. In a daze, he was in shock as he only saw a mix of bright lights and darkness. “Mr. Reeves! Are you okay?” The woman in the checkered shirt was standing over him and checking to see if he was okay. “Quick, call the hospital!” The others standing outside of the office finally reacted and ran forward to help.
Seeing the darkness slowly receded and the lights dim, Julian said, “never mind, I am fine. I just got a little busy because I am too tired.” Shaking his head he ultimately able to see a little bit, although it still was a bit blurry. Smiling he looked at the woman standing over him. “see I’m fine, now can you get off of me so I can get up?”
Realizing that her position was improper she blushed and backed away to give him some room to get up.
Getting up Julian pretended he was fine, walking decisively to the door he called to his secretary, “hurry up. I want to get to the hotel as soon as possible so I can get up tomorrow to get ready for my next meeting.”
“Meeting?” asked the secretary looking confused. “There is nothing planned for tomorrow.”
“There is now, get the contacts of all the major news outlets that we have an influence over to come to attend a twelve o’clock meeting. Also, tell the planning team to get over there at six am if they still want to keep their jobs. There is a task for them in your email, I sent it to you earlier, didn’t you read it?” asked Julian rhetorically, obviously, he hadn’t read it otherwise he wouldn’t be so calm.
Getting into the elevator he told everyone to hurry up and pressed to button for the lobby. The secretary looked at Julian weirdly, one minute ago he was collapsing on the ground and now he was telling all of them to hurry up and follow him. ‘Maybe my new master is a little bit crazy?’ thought the secretary concerned. ‘*Sigh* it is probably because of living with his mother when he was younger.’ Fortunately, he didn’t know that Julian never lived with his mother, in fact, he only saw her a couple of times a year. If he knew that he probably would have thought that Julian turned out a little bit weird because of his absentee mother and father.
