The Girl In The Louvre - Chapter 18.1 A Small Pawn Makes A Big More 4
Thinking about something Julia smiled, only it did not reach her eyes. It just lingered near the edges of her lips and her small dimples. “I will not tell your mother about it, as even if she knew it would not help. In exchange though, you have to be my test subject for my medicine, everyone else that I have is not nearly as exciting as you. After all, ODV is a really rare poison, it is not just any day that I get to study it.”Looking at Julian, her eyes were practically shining from excitement.
Staring back at the woman who was eyeing him like a fresh piece of meat he agreed. “That would be fine, but I would appreciate it if you kept it discreet. I do not think my mother would like it very much if she found out you were doing tests on my body without any actual reason.” Slightly relieved that they sorted that out, Julian let out a breath of air that he did not know that he was holding. Getting up, Julian nodded to her and walked out of the office.
Giggling quietly to herself, Julian watched him leave. ‘So cold, he didn’t even bother saying goodbye. I wonder what kind of expression he will make when I take off his clothes later for ‘tests’ hehe.’ After wiping off the drool that had been seeping out of her mouth, she got up are quickly walked out of the office. She had so many things to prepare now that Julian excepted, she could also finally dust of some old things that she had been working on before but did not have a test subject for.
While walking towards his employees working on the project that he gave them last night he thought about the particular girl that he left in his office. ‘How could a normal office worker know about ODV? Even if she is working for my mother It is not something that she should be qualified to know about, much less know the symptoms of it. She even thinks that she can try to create a cure for it. I am not sure which is more arrogant, the fact that she wants to experiment on me, or the fact that she thinks that she can try to understand ODV.’
Laughing lightly he shook his head, it does not matter what he thinks right now anyway. Either she creates a cure in the future or she doesn’t, it wasn’t something that he had control over. When he pushed open the doors and walked inside everyone slightly paused and then got back to their work.
The atmosphere in the work-space was not nearly as tense as one would expect from a group of fifty people woken up earlier in the morning and told that if they did not come to the office right away and work like their lives depended on it they would be fired. Instead, everyone was working with an amused glint in their eyes, as if they were really enjoying what they were doing. One person who was looking at his computer even started laughing. It wasn’t very loud, just a low sneering laugh, but Julian still heard it and looked over. When he saw what he was looking at he sneered, displayed on the computer screen was one of his biggest accomplishments over the last year.
He worked over six months by himself trying to find out everything he could, and when he finally finished is all he couldn’t find anyone that would publish it. No news site would run his story, even when he tried to post is online his websites kept being taken down. In the end, he decided to give up. What he was trying to post would make him too many enemies, even now with the backing of his mother he was only going to release part of it. The only person in that he knew that could handle the repercussions that came with releasing those files was his mother. Of course, she would never release them as they would only harm her empire and do nothing to help it.
