The Girl In The Louvre - Chapter 19 A Small Pawn Makes A Big Move 6
Turning his head away from the computer screen, Julian walked around inspecting everyone’s work. By the time it was almost twelve o’clock they had finally finished everything. After telling the employees to go home and take a break, Julian walked to the meeting room. Next to each of the chairs was a stack a large stack of papers. They were separated into different colour coded files and all together they were almost two feet high. Sitting down on his chair at the head of the table he checked his watch before glancing at his secretary. “There are eight minutes until the meeting, are you going to stand there trying to say something until then?”
Looking back at Julian the secretary’s mouth opened and closed like a fish as he tried to think of what to ask. Finally, he just decided to come out and ask him, “are you really going to do this? This could come back and hurt the president, after all, everyone has dark secrets. It is just that they don’t see the light. If you do this they might start releasing the blackmail that they have on our higher ups.” Looking like he just released a large breath, he wiped off the sweat that he just noticed was dripping down his brow.
Looking at him with a small, cold smile on his lips, Julian answered. “I’m only hitting one small industry. Yes, for the factory that opposed us it is the end of the world, but for everyone else, it is just a shocking scandal. Besides, even if they do decide to go all out and start releasing blackmail, isn’t that perfect? We can use it as an excuse to get rid of cancer that is eating of this empire.” Finished with his speech he checked his watch again, “Check if everyone is here if they are we can start the meeting early.”
Still shocked from what Julian had just said, it took him a second to realize what he said. It was only when Julian stared at him that he quickly turned around and briskly walked towards the elevator. Twiddling with his pen, Julian waited for his audience to arrive for his big show.
As the big hand on is watch slowly moved towards twelve the sound of people walking started to echo down the hallway into the room that he was waiting. Watching the reporters enter the meeting room he smiled gestured them to sit at the table. Dressed in his casual clothes, the fifteen-year-old Julian sitting behind the table with sunshine flowing over his body looked harmless and sweet.
While they were confused why this sweet looking boy decided to call them together for a meeting they didn’t dare say anything as they all knew that this was the mysterious little prince. If they did something wrong they could lose their carriers in a matter of seconds.
Smiling at the group seated around the table, Julian addressed the large pile of papers placed before each reporter. “You are probably wondering why I asked you all to come today, I believe that it will be easier to answer your questions after you have looked at the files before you. I hope that you refrain from asking any questions until after you have flipped through it all.”
Leaning back in his chair, Julian waited for the reactions of the reporters when they find out what is in those folders. To them, what is in those folders would probably more valuable than gold.
Looking slightly suspicious, they all reached forward and flipped open the first folder on the top. All the sudden, from all around the room gasps and exclamations of disbelief sounded. Slightly laughing at the sight of multiple reporters pupils dilating, Julian silently waited for them to finish reading.
