The Girl Who Reincarnated as a Vampire Heiress - Chapter 322
The Werewolf Race is currently caught in a whirlwind of power struggles. Anyone with an army or personal strength is eager to have a share and vie for the position of the Wolf King.
The Werewolf Race venerates the strong as leaders.
In this game of strategy, the victor becomes the next Wolf King.
Daniel is now very busy.
Meanwhile, Chloe and her friends, along with her father, have returned to their small cabin.
The cabin was half-burned but still habitable.
After Benny’s regime was overthrown, Chloe and her group could finally rest for a while.
The repaired television barely worked, and Chloe watched it in the living room with Qin Huaibei, Katherine, and Anderson.
They were watching news about the Werewolf Race.
The politicians were spouting nonsense.
One moment they accused the Werewolf Race of being utterly ruthless, the next they claimed the Vampires had sinister motives, deliberately undermining continental peace, and then they said the Vampires wanted to seize control of the Werewolf Race to expand their territory.
Chloe was utterly baffled:
“Why do they think we Vampires are interested in this tiny bit of land of the Werewolf Race?”
“I don’t know,” Katherine replied indifferently, “Maybe they are actually Benny’s vassals, so their reaction is so strong now.”
Hearing this, Qin Huaibei laughed: “They really are bold, following Benny and not afraid of having their brains scooped out for experiments?”
At this, everyone burst into laughter.
The little ones below were laughing joyfully, while Xavier was busy handling state affairs in his room.
Having just fought a battle, it was a time when everything needed attention, and Xavier was too busy to care about the kids outside.
Though they were not really kids anymore, but rather big kids.
Thinking of this, Xavier couldn’t help but feel a bit distracted.
So much time had passed, and his little daughter had grown from a naive cub into a mature adult with a hint of imperial demeanor.
Soon, she might even surpass him.
He also needed to start… delegating power.
Thinking of the old foxes in his territory, Xavier’s smile faded slightly.
Before that, he had to get those people off their chairs.
What he handed over to Chloe had to be a Vampire clan that was free of troubles, clean, and strong.
With that thought, Xavier tapped on the terminal, his finger landing on a bald minister on the opposite side of the light screen, and he said lightly:
“Kill.”
…
Chloe and her group had been with the Werewolf Race for a long time, and finally, on a calm afternoon, they saw Daniel again.
He came staggering into the cabin, covered in wounds and dazed.
Seeing him like this, Chloe was startled and hurriedly helped him up, calling Katherine to check his wounds.
Daniel was still hanging on:
“It’s nothing, the injuries aren’t that severe.”
Chloe wouldn’t listen, and Qin Huaibei came over, tore open Daniel’s shirt, and sure enough, there was a huge hole in his stomach, his intestines exposed.
Everyone gasped.
Katherine’s face was stern as she focused on treating him.
And Daniel himself was still delirious:
“This is all perfectly normal, you know. I’m incredibly powerful now. Those ancient creatures who’ve been around for centuries can’t beat me.”
Qin Huaibei was nearly pissed off:
“Here you are with a huge hole in your stomach telling us this, I swear you’re going to drive me crazy!”
Daniel didn’t seem bothered, “I’m still alive, aren’t I? That’s how it is in our Werewolf Race, we play for keeps when it comes to power struggles.”
After some silence, Chloe, with her gloves on, helped Katherine to stuff Daniel’s intestines back in, then asked,
“Do you need us to help?”
Chloe’s tone was cold:
“I’ll pull their intestines out, tie them in a knot, roast them over a fire and feed them to the pigs.”
Everyone went silent.
Anderson quietly applauded, expressing his approval of Chloe’s savage proposal.
Upon hearing this, Daniel was quite pleased:
“Don’t worry, they only got my intestines out, but I cut off one of the generals’ heads!”
Everyone went silent again.
Qin Huaibei couldn’t hold back, “Are you really that incredible?”
“Definitely!” Daniel shouted, “Even though I probably look like a fool in front of you all, but that doesn’t mean I am a fool. I am quite ruthless you know.”
This time, Chloe allowed herself to laugh.
Seeing the mood lighten up, Daniel heaved a sigh of relief, “Alright, I just came by to check on you guys. I’ve killed one General, two more to go.”
No sooner had he finished speaking, Katherine said irritably:
“Just stay put, would you? Don’t go stirring up trouble.”
Daniel protested, “How’m I causing trouble? I’m doing something important!”
Katherine, not caring for his explanation, knocked him out and dragged him to bed to start treating his wounds.
So Daniel wound up being cooped up in the small cabin for three to four days.
He was itching to get out and by the fourth day, he managed to pull out the IV and sprinted out the door.
He was back to contending for power with the Generals again.
Katherine was so frustrated she almost swore, but in the end Chloe stopped her,
“It’s fine, what Daniel is doing is indeed important, we have to trust him.”
Qin Huaibei, leaning against the wall with his arms folded, interjected, “He’s been bragging about how strong he is, it’s about time he showed us.”
With that, he shrugged, a nonchalant expression on his face, “I’ll be interested to see if he really is that strong, anyway, I’m going back to sleep.”
Chloe watched his retreating figure, her eyes squinted slightly.
The following day, once Qin Huaibei had gone out to help the Werewolf Race’s civilians, Chloe snuck into his room and saw the hastily scribbled note on his desk.
The writing was neat and clear, undoubtedly Qin Huaibei’s handwriting.
“Annoying, so annoying, causing trouble every single day, showing up at home with wounds like a brute!”
“And he has the audacity to say he’s okay; I think he’d say the same even if his head fell off!”
“Can Humans get involved in Werewolf affairs?”
“Can Humans help Werewolves seize power?”
“What’s the best way to get rid of the idiot wolves tormenting my friend without anyone finding out?”
“Damn it, he ran off. He better not come back!”
“On second thought, when he safely returns, I’ll give him a good slap. His favorite.”
Chloe: “…”
Didn’t expect Qin Huaibei to be such a drama king inside.
She glances around, tries to restore the small note to its original state, and then sneaks out of Qin Huaibei’s room.
Good, she did it flawlessly. Qin Huaibei won’t find out.
As Chloe thinks about this, she gently closes the door of Qin Huaibei’s room.
Just as she turns around, she faces Qin Huaibei’s terrified, shocked face.
Qin Huaibei: “…what did you see?”
Chloe: “What?”
Qin Huaibei pulls Chloe away and rushes into the room.
Immediately after, a thunderous roar comes from inside the room.
Before Qin Huaibei had the chance to draw his sword, Chloe takes off running.
“Damn it – freeze!!”
