- Volume 2: Eden: The Wildlands Chapter 31 The Two Factions Short Chapter
After a long awkward and silent walk, we all finally reached The Apollo. I wish things didn’t come to this, where it seems like I do everything by force, like a tyrant, something I never wanted to be seen as, unless necessary.
Anyways, what done is done, and now we are about to have our discussion now that everyone is here, Kimble and Zoe just got back not too long ago.
“Alright now that everyone is here, we can get started.” I take one more look around the room to make sure no one was missing and seeing as everyone was here we could get the show on the road. So I turned my head to Sheila, which made her flinch and smiled.
“So Sheila, my assumption was that you and your people came here looking for help. Is my guess correct?” I mean they could be here for anything, but someone that looks important just suddenly pops in out of the blue for no reason? That could mean only a few things, one, Sheila isn’t important at all, but that is thrown out of the bag by Truda’s reactions, and just likes looking important. Two, she is a representative of her people and they are coming to consume my people and resources for more territory and power, but only humans do that and these are animals. Finally, three, just to check out the place, see if there is any potential add it to their own, if not destroy it.
“*Sigh* Yes you would be correct in your assumption, we are indeed looking for help in our endeavor, which I will tell you more of, if and only if you promise and cross your heart that this information shan’t leave this room.” After hearing that I was confused, not by the context, but by the way she was speaking. Was she trying to be formal or informal, as she used “cross your heart” and “shan’t” which is usually used in formal ways, at least I think, and “cross your heart” is kind of childish, at least in this situation, so many questions, questions I will ask later in private.
“You have my word, that whatever happens in this room stays in this room.” I crossed my paw over my heart while I was saying my piece, to show that I was following along and serious.
“Okay then, now where to begin? …Ok so first thing first, there are 2 factions in the Blaze Clan. The first being the original, this was what the clan used to be before the reformation of the clan. They are called the Originals or the Origins for short. They consist of the elders of the clan and most of the males, the aggressive kind, they are the hardheads, warmongers, nutjobs, brutes, male supremacists, whatever you want to call them, but they have one thing in common, they see women as useless or inferior. I will get more into them later.” Of course, it looked like she wanted to say more about them if the way her face scrunched up and her quivering lips. She really detested the Origins Faction, but I can already tell I won’t like them.
“The second and new faction is the Renewal Faction. This is the Faction that I’m fighting for…and I’m also the leader of the Faction.” At that bomb she just dropped on us, everyone’s jaw hit the floor, except for her bodyguards, and stared at her in awe. No wonder it seemed like she loved the Renewal Faction if the way her eyes lit up and her voice, more passionate and cheery.
“Wow, I was already expecting you to have a high position in the clan…but that just blow me out of the water, hahaha. Well, got any more surprises to throw at me.” After picking up my jaw, I wiped the non-exist sweat that was on my forehead and asked her. Ajax recovered and asked me how she blow me out of the water, but I just quickly waved him off.
“Hmhmhm, sorry sorry, I didn’t mean to frighten you all like that.” Her eyes narrowed into slits as she chuckled softly into her arm, and her body slightly shaking.
“*Sigh*, hehehe, it’s alright just a very shocking surprise is all.” I smiled a toothy grin at her, I was enjoying this a bit, talking with new people and all, and Sheila seemed pretty chill and nice.
“Ahem, back on the main topic of why we are here, to make a long story short, I require your assistance in helping me protect the Renewal Faction…please!” She bowed her head to us and kept it there, even when her guards, Truda and the other unnamed one, tried to desperately get her to raise her head.
“…Wow.” Well I definitely wasn’t expecting that one.
