The Goblin’s Leveling System! - Chapter 141
Axel’s PoV:
After I defeated the level 70,500 speed bullet ant, I deactivated my skills such as the [Dragon Wings] and [Flight] skill to avoid needless consumption of my mana and to also increase the recovery rate of my mana.
I looked at the burnt corpse of the level 70,500 speed bullet ant that I had picked up earlier and decided to eat it even though it looked like a lump of charcoal.
Without further ado, I stuffed the burnt corpse of the level 70,500 speed bullet ant despite not wanting to eat it.
I had no choice but to eat the corpse of the level 70,500 speed bullet ant since I needed to increase my power so that my chances of defeating the other high-level monsters would increase even if it was only increased by a small possibility.
I also had to replenish my mana while the high-level monsters were still dumbfounded by what had transpired.
I quickly munched the burnt corpse of the level 70,500 speed bullet ant and the burnt corpse tasted like charcoal while its texture was crispy.
Eating the burnt corpse felt like eating charcoal itself so I quickly munched it and cast water magic to create a puddle of water that was levitating in the air.
Although it looked like I was just only eating the burnt corpse, I was still multi-tasking by absorbing the mana in the surroundings to replenish my mana while remaining vigilant towards the high-level monsters so that I would know whether the high-level monsters had made their move or not.
{Axel 1, I will take care of observing the actions of the high-level monsters so focus on replenishing your mana and absorbing the stats and skills from the burnt corpse of the high-level monsters.}
Axel 2 took a load of my burden on my concentration so I increased the rate of absorption in the mana within the vicinity while chewing the burnt corpse.
After I thoroughly chewed the burnt corpse of the level 70,500 speed bullet ant, I drank the puddle of water I had created and heaved a sigh of relief.
Eating food that tasted like charcoal was worst than eating dirt itself since the taste of dirt was much blander compared to the taste of charcoal.
The strong taste of the burnt corpse of the level 70,500 speed bullet ant was lingering on my mouth so I conjured another puddle of water and used the water as a mouth rinse.
After rinsing my mouth with water, the taste of the burnt corpse still lingered but was now a bit mild.
I waited for a while to hear the sound of the system notification to determine whether I had acquired any skill.
After waiting for a minute or so, there still wasn’t any system notification so it meant that I didn’t acquire any skill.
I also had not felt any boost in my strength so I didn’t obtain the stats of the level 70,500 speed bullet ant.
Seriously?! I had to freak suffer to defeat the level 70,500 speed bullet ant and eat a freaking burnt corpse that tasted like charcoal but I didn’t even receive any stat and skill?
If that was the case, then I had no choice but to deal with it since it had already been done.
Now that the level 70,500 speed bullet ant didn’t provide me with either stats or skills, I will focus on battling against the high-level monsters.
{Axel 1, about that…}
Axel 2, did something happened that involved the high-level monsters?
{Axel 1, I’ll get straight to the point but first, run for your life!}
Okay? Axel 2, I’ll ask you later after I made my escape.
I listened to Axel 2 without any hesitation and ran for my life.
I went away from the high-level monsters while summoning the system map.
I saw multiple red dots heading towards me and one of the red dots was much faster than the other as its movement was like a rocket launching itself towards me.
I quickly went out of the trajectory of the red dot by channeling my mana towards my feet and released the channeled mana towards both of my feet to instantly launch myself upwards.
While I was in mid-air, I performed a somersault which allowed me to looked what had happened behind me for a few seconds.
I saw the high-level monsters and they were towards me.
The level 73,000 silver armor armadillo had charged towards me by rolling itself at a tremendous speed.
Fortunately, I had summoned the system map in time so I was able to know about the movement of the high-level monsters in time or I would become a meat paste.
I activated both [Dragon Wings] and [Flight] which enabled me to maneuver myself while in mid-air.
I flew to escape from the high-level monsters by flapping the rainbow wings on my back while using the [Flight] skill to further increase my flight speed.
I checked up on the system map and found a cave just several kilometers away from my current location.
I decided to head towards the cave to seek shelter instead of heading towards my teammates to go to the Holy Church since that would be equal to bringing several monsters that could wipe out an entire nation.
While I was flying away from the high-level monsters, the high-level monsters bombarded me with magic skills in different elements.
I dodged all of it successfully since the high-level monsters’ attack wasn’t coordinated so I found a flaw in each timing of the high-level monsters’ attack and that flaw was enough to dodge their attack.
It would be troublesome if the high-level monsters followed me wherever I go since even if went to the cave that I had decided as my hiding place, it would be pointless if it was discovered by the high-level monsters.
My skill in setting up arrays wasn’t enough to defend my hiding place even if I was given time to create it because of lacking various materials that would be needed to create the arrays that would be enough to defend against the high-level monsters.
Even if I had sufficient materials to create the arrays that I had in mind, my power wasn’t enough to fully utilize arrays that would be able to defend against monsters that were above level 50,000.
How about I create shadow clones to confuse the high-level monsters and attempt to slip away from the pursuit of the high-level monster?
{I wouldn’t do that if I were you, Axel 1.}
Took you long enough to talk to me.
Anyways, it was just an idea that I had formulated in a matter of seconds so don’t expect too much.
Now that I had thought about it, if I went with my shadow clone plan then it would be a complete failure.
The high-level monsters wouldn’t be fooled for the second time so it was pointless.
Even if the high-level monsters weren’t that intelligent, they still wouldn’t be an idiot.
There might be an intelligent monster within the high-level monster’s group so I would just be wasting my mana in creating multiple shadow clones.
Also, I could instead use the mana I was planning to consume in creating shadow clones on either fighting against the high-level monsters or fleeing from the pursuit of the high-level monsters.
How about I choose either of the two ideas that I had come up with?
{That would be a wise choice. Axel 2, I suggest you escape from the high-level monsters since that would bring us a much higher chance to survive. Even if that failed, we would still be able to put up a fight against the high-level monsters.}
{Axel 2, you would be able to activate [Limit Break] since the cooldown of that skill had ended several hours ago. Even if the [Limit Break] skill wouldn’t be enough to deal with the high-level monsters, you would still be able to activate the [Berserk] skill if the possibility that some of the high-level monsters had strength-enhancing skills such as yours was likely.}
{You would still be able to at least defeat a few of the high-level monsters and the worst possible outcome would be…}
Death, right?
I’m not that much afraid of death since I could handle the pain of dying.
I’m also not afraid of where I would end up after I died since the possibility of the God that had summoned me into this world to collect my soul after I died was high.
But, I found out that I’m afraid of death because I had not lived my life to the fullest in this world.
I also had a beautiful fiancee and several teammates waiting for me to return.
So for that reason, I can’t die for now but maybe after I had lived my life the way I wanted it to be.
I have to be strong enough to overcome any difficulties that I would encounter in the future.
