The Goblin’s Leveling System! - Chapter 142
Axel’s PoV:
Now that I had made up my mind, I’ll retreat for now and I will think of a way to defeat the high-level monsters.
Although creating multiple shadow clones to confuse the high-level monsters would be a waste of mana, I could still use two shadow clones to divert the high-level monsters.
One of the shadow clones would be used to go towards the boundary located in the Monster’s Abode.
The other shadow clone would be used to go towards the opposite direction of the cave that I’m seeking shelter at while I would use that chance to go towards the cave.
The high-level monsters would likely be split apart into three groups since my shadow clones and I will go in three directions.
Although there would still be a third of the high-level monsters to pursue me, at least it would reduce the number of high-level monsters that I’m going to be up against.
But, I can’t head towards the cave first. Why?
It’s because the high-level monsters might notice that the shadow clones were a diversion and the high-level monsters would know that I was heading towards the cave since I only created the shadow clones in front of them but they would still know where my current location was at.
If they knew my current location then it would be pointless to create the shadow clones since they would be able to determine where my real body is at.
I might as well go with that plan and worst comes to worst, I would use all of my skills to create any means of escape.
{As expected of Master Axel! Master Axel can indeed multi-task since Master has been dodging all of the attacks of the high-level monsters while Master formulated his plan!}
There goes the Dragon King. He’s bootlicking by praising me again.
{Master Axel has misunderstood me. I’m just in awe of your great abilities. Also, I might as well remind Master about something if Master wants to hear it.}
Speak.
{Have you forgotten that I am under your slave contract?}
Nope. I haven’t forgotten about that at all.
{If Master Axel had not forgotten about it, then Master surely had not forgotten about the demerit of being under a slave contract.}
Oh, that! I haven’t forgotten about that as well.
If the master of the one who was under the slave contract died, then all of the slaves that had signed a slave contract with the deceased master would also die.
The reason for that kind of effect from the slave contract was to prevent the slaves from betraying their Master.
{Then Master already know what would happen if Master died at the hands of the high-level monsters, right?}
Of course, I knew about that. You, the dragon king, Pedonar, Aileen, the criminals from the Eldion Kingdom, the Double-headed Python, and the Fire Lion Emperor would die if I died, right?
{Yes, Master Axel is right. This old and humble one will die if Master died so this old one will humbly suggest to Master about this old one’s idea.}
I’ll hear your suggestion so you can talk about it.
{How about Master summon all of your slaves including this Dragon King if Master needed any assistance such as using the slaves of Master as a human shield, bait, or as a diversion.}
Wouldn’t that be too cruel? I only used the slave contract so that there wouldn’t be any potential threat with me and also for the sake of accomplishing the system’s task.
{I do agree that it’s cruel. But, we slaves should die by serving and protecting our Master instead of just exploding to death.}
{It would also be disadvantageous for our side if Master died with Pedonar and my daughter Aileen since both of them are heroes. It would be better to reduce the casualties on our side.}
{The dragon king is correct, Axel 1. The beings you have enslaved would die a worthless death if you died. If the three of you (Axel, Pedonar, and Aileen) died together, then it would reduce the power of the heroes’ side. You might as well use all of your slaves to eliminate the high-level heroes.}
The two of you were right, but I’m not in that much of danger so I’ll do the best I could to survive without using the slaves that I had signed a contract with.
Just in case, I would telepathically send a message to Pedonar about my current condition so that he would be able to save my life if I were in danger or tell my other teammates about my current condition.
I tapped into a mental connection between Pedonar to send him a telepathic message.
{Axel, what command do you want me to fulfill since you must have a reason why you sent me a telepathic message?} (Pedonar)
{I met some troubles in my current location so I decided to ask you to relay my will to the other heroes especially Aerin.} (Axel)
{How dire is your current situation? You even have the time to joke around about relaying your will since you did not even leave any possessions of yours to us except for some of the books you had stolen from the Elven Library.} (Pedonar)
{Oh, right! All of the money that we had obtained from the human king was stored in the system inventory.} (Axel)
{Anyways, I’m facing against 8 high-level monsters that are above level 71,000. I might not make it out alive so I might as well tell you about my current situation.} (Axel)
{As expected of my master! You even have the guts to confront 8 monsters that are above level 71,000!} (Pedonar)
{I’m guessing that the reason why you tell me about this is that you are asking for reinforcements, right?} (Pedonar)
{Yes, something along that line.} (Axel)
{If that is so, then I’ll tell Aileen about that so that the two of us can provide you with assistance. Although, it is inevitable that the others might join as well.} (Pedonar)
{Tell our teammates not to join you in providing me with reinforcements.} (Axel)
{You do know that some of them might be hard-headed and decide to go with me.} (Pedonar)
{If that is the case, then only allow Aerin and Sophie to join with you and Aileen.} (Axel)
{Also, bring both of my disciples, Alex and Distere because they deal the most damage among the other junior heroes excluding Ferros since Ferros has a lower chance of survival than Alex and Distere in terms of escaping despite having his destruction magic that can deal the most damage amongst all heroes including us senior heroes.} (Axel)
{You can decide if you want to bring Satomi because he might be useful as fodder and bait for the high-level monsters.} (Axel)
Although it might be harsh and inhumane, Satomi wouldn’t die anyway and it would instead benefit him if he died multiple times at the hands of the high-level monsters.
{With that in mind, only bring Satomi if he is willing to join you in going up against the high-level monsters.}
I might as well not force Satomi if he doesn’t want to join them. Although, I believe that he will join since his power revolved around death and rebirth.
Satomi would benefit a lot from joining the others and me in going up against the high-level monsters so it’s more likely for him to join us.
{Tell Zale to take care of the junior heroes while the rest of us will team up against the high-level monsters.} (Axel)
{I will do as you had told me to. I ask for the master to please wait for me and the others’ arrival since it would take at least a few minutes before we can go towards your current location.} (Pedonar)
{I’ll disconnect the mental connection now, master. If you have nothing else to command me.} (Pedonar)
{I have nothing else to command you so you can disconnect it anytime you want.} (Axel)
After I permitted Pedonar, I focused all of my senses to confront the high-level monsters.
I needed to buy time for Pedonar and the others to provide me with assistance in dealing with the high-level monsters.
I knew the limits of my abilities so it’s better to lower my pride and ask for help rather than letting myself fight a losing battle against the high-level monsters.
As usual, the high-level monsters would bombard me with multiple elemental projectiles such as energy beams and compressed air that was generated by a claw attack.
I kept on dodging the attacks of the high-level monsters instantly changing my location using both the [Dragon Wings] and [Flight] skill.
The [Dragon Wings] and [Flight] skill was constantly draining my mana just by maintaining its usage.
I had not decided to launch an attack against the high-level monsters since I would be able to deal more damage if I focused on one target.
My teammates would be the ones to buy time for me so that I would be able to defeat the high-level monsters one by one.
For some reason, I’m becoming much more dependent on my teammates to provide me with assistance.
Anyways, It’s not a bad trait as long as I don’t depend on them too much.
