The God Of Light And Darkness - Chapter 24
“Don’t mind him.” Neo looked at the source of the voice that sounded so suddenly behind him, “Different from most Light Mages, he decided to focus of illusions, and not on healing and powering magic.”
It was one of the girls that Neo saw in his classroom, but he didn’t know the name.
The tomboyish girl with short black hair and black eyes that was wearing the same type of uniform as the boys.
Of course, he remembers her because she was one of the two girls that didn’t came straight up to him and kept buzzing on his desk.
But before that, what really made him focus on her was the faint killing intent he sensed coming from her and directed at him.
As a person sensible to killing intent, it wasn’t that hard to sense it, even though she tried to hide.

“I’m Rion Murasa, by the way.” The girl smiled, “It’s a pleasure to meet you, Neo. I hope we can be good friends.”
“Likewise.” Neo curtly greeted her as he wondered how much of his conversation with Raychovick she heard.
“Why didn’t you come this morning?” Rion curiously asked with her sweet voice, but Neo saw the sharpness in her eyes that stared at him, scanning every single one of his movements.
“I was sick.” Neo made up something in less than a second, the most common excuse a student can use, “But I got better, luckily. I came here to meet with Elana. Is she still here?”
“Elana Feuer, eh…” Rion’s lips perked up a little, “You sure have a beautiful girlfriend.” Rion teased him a little.
Unfortunately, she chose the wrong person to tease. His face remained normal, with a faint and friendly smile on his lips.
“She’s not a girlfriend. We’re… acquaintance.” Neo struggled a little when to say about his relationship with Elana, “If not for her, I would still be on the streets.” It wasn’t a lie, but it also wasn’t the truth. The original Neo was indeed a homeless person before meeting with Elana that gave him food, clothes and an apartment.
“Hmm…” Rion scratched her chin but her eyes flashed with an unknown light before she smiled and commented, “She didn’t seem like the type of person that would out of her way to save someone in the need.”
“She most probably saved me because of my talent with magic.” This time, Neo also didn’t tell the whole truth and neither lied.
“True…” Rion shrugged her shoulders and answered Neo’s first question, “Elana is still here, down at the Magic Training Facilities in the underground.”
“Thanks.” Neo thanked Rion and walked past her.
“Do you know how to get there?” Rion asked with a playful smile on her face.
Neo really wanted to get away as fast as possible from this girl as he felt she had some kind of enmity against him.
But he really didn’t know how to get there, so, he could only ask for her help, “No, I have never been there.”
“Come with me, I’m going to show you.” Rion went beside Neo and spoke beside him.
…
As they slowly walked towards their destination, Rion suddenly turned and said, “i like your new style. Your hair looks a lot better completely white. Coupled with your golden eyes, it gives a surreal feeling, like you are a deity of something.”
“Thanks for the praise.” Neo was trying really hard to maintain the gentle and calm exterior, but the vibes he was getting from Rion was making it hard to keep his act.
“I was wondering ever since I saw your golden eyes, do you have any relation with the Lumine family?” Rion’s voice was still the same, but Neo could sense Rion watching his expressions with the side of her eye.
“No.” Neo flatly denied, “Lumine family is one of the Big Five of Ancardia, together with Aqua, Terra, Feuer and Anima families. I’m not from Ancardia, so, how could I be a member of Lumine family.”
Once again, Neo mixed up lies with the truth.
He, Daemon, in the body of Neo, indeed wasn’t an ancardian, but Neo was one.
Hearing his answer, Rion squinted her eyes and doubts sprouted in her mind about Neo’s identity.
In no time Rion led him to the end of a corridor that had nothing around, not a single door.
Neo frowned and looked around.
“It’s behind a magic formation.” Rion saw Neo frowning and explained to him.
She walked towards the wall in the end of the corridor and touched at it with her hand enveloped with mana.
The simple white wall slowly disappeared and it was replaced with a small elevator door that was wide open.
[Illusion Magic Formation…] Neo spoke to himself, [Although not a high level formation, it was created by a strong formation master, that’s why I couldn’t even feel the presence of the formation.]
“Are you coming?” Rion woke Neo from his thoughts.
Neo nodded and entered in the elevator.
“I won’t be going with you.” Rion smiled at Neo, “Elana should be at the fourth floor underground, just press the 4U button and you you will be sent there.”
Neo thanked Rion for the help with a gentle smile on his face.
Just as he pressed the button and doors were about to close, Rion lifted her hand and stopped the automatic doors.
“Are you really not from Ancardia?” Rion asked while staring deeply into Neo.
“No.” He answered without hesitation.
Rion slowly took her hand away and watched as the doors closed.
…
Neo silently stared at the elevator’s mirror that behind him.
His face didn’t change a bit, he kept his usual fake expression as he caught sight of an inconspicuous camera hidden in every corner of the elevator.
[I have to get rid of her.] Those were his thoughts, [Rion and Raychovick… I have to kill those two. Raychovick can see through me even when I suppressed the aura of death around me. Rion… apparently, she has some kind of grudge with Lumine family. There’s no mistake. She kept looking at my eyes and face, like she was trying to confirm something. And after those questions, how can I not suspect.]
Neo was very wary at moment since he was almost completely powerless.
Before meeting Bog, Neo didn’t actually fear anyone because he had multiple cards that could take him out of any dire situation, albeit paying a high price, depending of the situation.
Now, Neo couldn’t allow people that endanger his life roam around.
…
The whole way down, Neo kept thinking of ways to kill both Rion and Raychovick without going through much risk.
At the moment, both of them were stronger than him.
Dealing with Raychovick was going to be easy, at least that what he believed, as people that focus on illusions has the minimal combat abilities.
Illusion mages are great supports, but when they fight alone against a combat mage, they often lose. There are some exceptions, but they are usually above Senior Magic User level.
Raychovick was an Apprentice Mage, and Neo was nothing but a Novice Mage, about to become Apprentice, he only need to absorb some more mana before it could happen as he already was experienced with sword and would undoubtedly become what could be called Apprentice Magic Fencer.
The separation between a Novice and Apprentice wasn’t that big, the main difference was only the size of their Mana Pool, and this difference enable Apprentice Mages to use higher tier magic.
It wasn’t obligatory to train in something else but magic, usually only combat mages would go through the trouble of mastering something else, like swords, spears, daggers, etc.
