The God Virus - Chapter 368: Goodbye (3)
Somewhat stunned by her questions which could even be called statements from her part really, for almost an entire minute, Virus simply watched her disappearing yet extremely fragile back silently.
Indeed, she had no intention of stopping or looking back at all.
At any rate, just as her silhouette was about to blink out of his sight, Virus ran.
He charged at her with his fastest speed, therefore appearing behind her almost instantaneously. Then grabbing her quivering weak body, he turned her around, only to be faced with her tearful face.
Witnessing those loads of tears covering her beautiful eyes, not opening his mouth at all, Virus embraced her. He hugged her right amidst his strong arms.
Subsequently, he began whispering into her ears softly, “Listen here, you silly girl. I said I’m not leaving for good… which means I’m really not leaving for good! I’ll return in a while. That’s a promise.”
“Also, you’re not my slave. But be it a slave, a girlfriend, a mistress, or even nothing at all, none of that really matters. What’s important here is that you’re mine. That seals the deal already. You need to understand that because I’m not gonna leave you alone.”
Her last line of defense finally broken by his ending sentence which smashed directly into her weakness, unable to withstand all those feelings pent up inside her since forever, Hu Yuexin started crying her heart out, “Waaaaah…”
After that, she wept for a few minutes straight before, at last, showing some signs of calming down and stopping.
Alternatively, promptly noticing this change in her, separating himself from her trembling figure, after taking a short glance of her still wet eyes, opening his mouth no more, he simply sealed them on hers.
Simultaneously, secretly taking a futuristic-looking syringe out of his pocket, he directly pushed it at the back of her neck, right into her spinal cord. But he didn’t activate it for now.
On the other hand, receiving this passionate kiss of his, Hu Yuexin could feel herself melting at the intense sensation of this man called Aizen, and that only made her even more unwilling to depart before a single drop of tear fell from the corner of her eye.
…
After Virus was finished taking his time saying goodbye to her, he walked out of the hotel before entering the luxurious limousine that was going to escort them to the airport.
“You’re back! Are you done with your unfinished business?” Exclaimed the golden beauty jovially.
“Yep, I’m done taking a dump.” Wearing an amused expression, Virus joked.
“Ew! Mast-ai! You didn’t need to report that!” Proclaimed the golden beauty while taking on a disgusted expression that only seemed cute to Virus or even Amara for that matter.
“Haha, how’s your training progressing anyway? Were you able to spark your awareness of the motes of internal energy inside you?” Questioned Virus in such a volume so Amara wouldn’t be able to hear.
“Umm… not yet, that makes me think… maybe I’m doing something wrong.” Turning somewhat crestfallen, the golden beauty reported.
“Haha… don’t worry, it takes time. Just be patient.” He reassured her casually.
Afterward, the trio went silent as only the sound of the radio reverberated within the car.
“So, the next song was requested by a girl who’s suspecting his boyfriend to be cheating on her. The song’s called ‘Betrayal’ by Zhou Chuan Xiao. We’ll be playing the song shortly after hearing what the girlfriend has to say to his boyfriend.” Announced the female host with a chuckle.
“Hello? Can you hear me?” A young feminine voice queried doubtfully.
“Yes, everyone can hear you, young lady, please relay your message.” Confirmed the host kindly.
“Ah, okay…” going quiet momentarily, the girl began talking, “Ye Yimu, you bastard! I’m gonna kill you, you hear me? You dare cheat on me?! I’m so fucking gonna-” her connection was suddenly cut off at this point in time as the host started to talk with a bitter laugh, “Haha… our call was disconnected due to some complications. Student Ye Yimu, please be careful of your girlfriend… haha… now, let’s move on to the song.”
Listening up to now, Virus felt tickled by the girl at the absurdity of the entire situation.
Soon, the requested song was on the play.
“All these years I presumptuously gave my everything”
“Always assuming it’ll exchange for a fair response”
“The curled strand of hair by your bedside cruelly spelled out”
“That a lingering love can never match up to a moment of happiness”
“Your affections have betrayed my love; and sacrificed my life”
“I sold an entire world but receive ashes in return”
“Your cruelty has betrayed all love; a beautiful dream awakes suddenly”
“Feelings-”
The song was abruptly put to a sudden stop as the host started to make an urgent announcement.
“We deeply apologize to our listeners, but there’s been a major incident going on in Shanghai which all television and radio channels are required to broadcast and warn!” Exclaimed the host in an anxious tone before proceeding, “We’ve just received the news of a Rift breakdown in Shanghai exactly in XXX street around XXX Hotel. We kindly request all our listeners around that neighborhood to evacuate the area immediately.”
“The government’s making this emergency announcement because, according to the data we’ve received, it seems the creature or creatures that had been discharged from that specific rift has proven to be far stronger than anticipated.”
“I repeat, please evacuate the area at once! Apparently, the Guardians dispatched to the relevant rift had been already killed by the creatures. Therefore, it’s extremely dangerous to be there as it’s left with no protection whatsoever.”
“We’ve just received further details regarding the incident! The report says that the rampant monster or monsters are wreaking havoc everywhere! They’re even tearing down buildings! Please heed our warning and leave the area until the newly dispatched emergency Guardians and military reaches the site.”
Alarmed by the emergency broadcast, turning in Virus’ direction, the golden beauty queried while furrowing her brows, “Eh, wasn’t that hotel the one we were staying at? It seems the rift we witnessed in that neighborhood had opened up. Hope everyone’s fine there.”
By now, Virus’ expression had turned slightly dark as a single notion was going through his head, ‘Hu Yuexin’s still working in the hotel.’
‘Should I return or…?’
