The Goddess and the Ugly Duckling - Chapter 21
What’s it like being friends with a goddess?
Xiaoya: “After you’re at my house, you can call them. If they don’t agree, then just forget about it.”
Yu Xiaoya’s reply:
Xiaoya scrolled through Lu Xiaobei’s Facebook account for a while, saying, “But all your friends are here, Captain. There’s no way I could post stuff.”
Prompting Lu Xiaobei to reply, her words full of meaning, “Whose person should I say you are, then?”
—— From the dividing line who’s sorry she didn’t have a story about her goddess today. But she’s about to take her college entrance exams, so I just wish her success in everything she desires ——
“Close.” Xiaoya was embarrassed to say that Lu Xiaobei was sending her back home as it would make her mother ask even more questions, and that would be too troublesome.
My deskmate said to me, I’m able to express my thoughts a lot better now. And, I also thought I’d changed too.
Happy Children’s Day everybody! I’m still a child, so why are a bunch of people asking me to reply to questions about lily stuff? I don’t think there’s anything lily related around me, so there’s no way I could answer any questions related to it~
Lu Xiaobei the offered: “Aunty, I can help you in the kitchen, if you’d like.”
The woman not too far away, Xiaoya’s mother, walked over, asking: “Why aren’t you home yet?” While asking this, she checked out Lu Xiaobei from the corner of her eye.
Xiaoya: “What is it?”
Xiaoya: “Was it because you were very cute when you were young, Captain?”
Xiaoya scrolled through Lu Xiaobei’s Facebook account for a while, saying, “But all your friends are here, Captain. There’s no way I could post stuff.”
Without even knowing it, it’s already been four months since I started answering questions. There’s been a lot of things that have happened in these past four months too. I went from just a casual acquaintance to a good friend with my goddess, friends who talk about any and everything. I even told her about deepest wishes. I want to go visit many places, I want to see many sights, and meet many people.
Xiaoya: “I can’t really remember, maybe around five?”
Seeing the atmosphere was a bit awkward, Xiaoya took the initiative to take the bags from her mother. She originally thought the fruit and veggies weren’t that heavy, but before she reached the fifth floor, the strap of the bag had turned her hand blue.
Xiaoya the chimed in: “Captain’s cooking is really delicious.”
My mother toils this much, yet she never said anything.
In response I sighed, and my heart felt at ease.
But Xiaoya’s mom replied: “You’re our guest, you don’t need to worry about this, so just go have fun with Xiaoya, okay?” She then motioned to Xiaoya to lead Lu Xiaibei to her room.
Lu Xiaobei introduced herself: “Nice to meet you, Aunty. I’m Lu Xiaobei.”
I’ve changed a lot during this time too. In this month’s most recent monthly examination, I actually made it into the top two-hundred rankings for my grade. Even the attitude the teachers have towards me is noticeably different than before. My dad even said to me: “It’s never too late to wake up.” And my mom made me a huge table’s worth of delicious food.
The woman not too far away, Xiaoya’s mother, walked over, asking: “Why aren’t you home yet?” While asking this, she checked out Lu Xiaobei from the corner of her eye.
Lu Xiaobei lifted the phone Xiaoya had gifted her, saying, “No, I already sent them a message.”
Why is my goddess so good to me, huh? Most of the other commentors responding to the thread said their goddesses were unreachable and indifferent, never daring to set aside their haughty attitudes out of fear the guy’s close to them would confess, so instead they made no friends. It was probably because I was a girl. This meant my goddess didn’t have to worry about something like that, and could therefore show that charm of hers to me everyday without any restraint.
Anyway, maybe it’s because I’m more confident, or perhaps it’s because I’ve been paying attention to my diet because there’s no pimples on my face. When I pass by the neighbouring primary school the kids there even call me pretty big sis. (Grinning)
“Because a chance like this is hard to come by, and I just happened to talk about it. Do you want us to start studying now, Captain?” Xiaoya replied.
But… this answer of mine is only something I could write here.
I was honestly confused at the matter, but I wasn’t even sure why.
Xiaoya couldn’t help but try to find something for them to talk about in an effort to talk to Lu Xiaobei for a little while longer. “The college entrance exams are only two days away, so is there any big dinners at your house?”
Lu Xiaobei said while holding in a grin, “Adorable.”
“Captain, this is my room. It’s a bit small, though.”
Then, when I meet my goddess tomorrow, I’ll just be a girl overflowing with vitality being with her as she works on her questions, and cheering her up. Actually, my goddess has been very free for the past couple days. She took me to the library rooftop and we watched all kinds of American dramas, all in the name giving me oral English practice. My goddess told me that she had reviewed all she needed to review and that a stable performance was good enough for her since her goal was not that high.
I sincerely wish for her to leave this sea of misery known as high school, but I’m also sad. The day until we’ll separate will also begin its countdown. Soon, the day will come when we have to part. She won’t be there to walk me to and from school again, or ask me out to eat on weekends. She’ll be going to live in a different city, attending the best university, nd meeting a lot of new people.
The most beautiful person I had ever met in my life, my best friend, is about to head off to a battlefield, a battlefield called the college entrance examination.. I truly believe she will blaze through every obstacle, push forward to seize the enemy flag and declare her victory!
Forget about the super unconfident girl she once met who was just like an ugly little duckling.
My mother toils this much, yet she never said anything.
Lu Xiaobei looked around the room, at the snow white wallpaper, the dark brown standard furnishings, along with the anime posters hung on the wall behind the bed and the figurines lining the bookshelf which very much exuded Xiaoya’s personal style.
But Xiaoya’s mom replied: “You’re our guest, you don’t need to worry about this, so just go have fun with Xiaoya, okay?” She then motioned to Xiaoya to lead Lu Xiaibei to her room.
“You can post whatever you want, or you can chat with them. I’ll introduce you.” Lu Xiaobei replied.

She won’t be there to walk me to and from school again, or ask me out to eat on weekends. She’ll be going to live in a different city, attending the best university, nd meeting a lot of new people.
After graduation, whether I’m still in contact with my goddess or not, I truly hope she is well. That she will always be beautiful, always proud, and always dazzling.
—— From the dividing line who’s sorry she didn’t have a story about her goddess today. But she’s about to take her college entrance exams, so I just wish her success in everything she desires ——
She then asked, “Why did you tell me so much about your childhood?”
Xiaoya then said proudly: “Adorable, right? I was beautiful too, but then I got older and it went to crap.”
Xiaoya couldn’t help but try to find something for them to talk about in an effort to talk to Lu Xiaobei for a little while longer. “The college entrance exams are only two days away, so is there any big dinners at your house?”
Maybe she’ll wish me goodnight through QQ, and when she has the time she might even chat with me. But… the more she knows about the world, the more she sees the world… maybe, she might even forget about me too…
Only then did Xiaoya remember Lu Xiaobei’s family situation, and that Lu Xiaobei didn’t want to stay with them during the Spring Festival at all, let alone now. Making Xiaoya want to beat herself up so she won’t say anything that stupid again.
Lu Xiaobei introduced herself: “Nice to meet you, Aunty. I’m Lu Xiaobei.”
Maybe she’ll wish me goodnight through QQ, and when she has the time she might even chat with me. But… the more she knows about the world, the more she sees the world… maybe, she might even forget about me too…

Deciding to save some face, Xiaoya added: “After the exams, I’ll take you out for a meal, my treat, okay?”
Lu Xiaobei said while holding in a grin, “Adorable.”
My goddess will definitely make it into the imperial capital. That’s the difference between the top 2 popular majors and the least popular ones. She’s has good grades so she’ll have extra points for the college entrance exams.
Maybe… she might not forget about me either. But if there’s a day I become nothing other than one of the people she just sends a New Year’s greeting to, I think it would be better for her to just forget all about me outright instead.
Lu Xiaobei lifted the phone Xiaoya had gifted her, saying, “No, I already sent them a message.”
Lu Xiaobei: “I guess…”
Lu Xiaobei: “Not really, it doest matter either way to me since I just want to empty my mind. Why do you ask? Do you want to start your homework? I’m here, so I could help if you’d like.”
Deciding to save some face, Xiaoya added: “After the exams, I’ll take you out for a meal, my treat, okay?”
Lu Xiaobei: “No. Life overseas isn’t so perfect. Some of the older folks over there were very boring.”
My deskmate said to me, I’m able to express my thoughts a lot better now. And, I also thought I’d changed too.
She then looked at the large window in the front of her desk, saying: “It’s very warm. The sunshine during the day must be very nice.” She then turned her gaze, pointing to a silly of a little girl sitting on the bedside table, asking, “How old were you there?”
Maybe she’ll wish me goodnight through QQ, and when she has the time she might even chat with me. But… the more she knows about the world, the more she sees the world… maybe, she might even forget about me too…
It’s currently four in the morning, and I just woke up after having a dream about my goddess. In it she was smiling at me, an especially beautiful smile at that. It’s all her fault I’m having them too, all because of those gorgeous pictures she kept sending me every day.
What’s it like being friends with a goddess?
I just felt extremely sad. Sad I could only be with my goddess for a short period of time, sad that all I would be… was just a passer-by in her life…
Until now, that is. I realised I was still troublesome, stubborn, and even selfish. Thinking about how, after getting into college, my goddess will be making a new friend, go shopping with her, go movies with her, talk about things we never talked about… gossip about celebrities, street food, the cats on campus and even more things like the works of the great masters, world politics, and the starry skies above our heads.
Xiaoya the chimed in: “Captain’s cooking is really delicious.”
iana: oooh…
After Lu Xiaobei went into Xiaoya’s room, her mother pulled her aside and said: “See how sensible other people are? Take some fruit from the living room and go. Don’t be too noisy, and don’t forget to do your home work while you’re having fun.”
Xiaoya wobbled her head proudly, explaining, “The most dangerous place is the safest place, otherwise, when my mom searches my room everyday, she would’ve found the phone a long time ago, you know?!”
“Does your friend live nearby?” Xiaoya’s mother asked.

Xiaoya: “What is it?”

Now in her room, Xiaoya placed the delicious looking green grapes on the tea table, pulled out a chair, asking Lu XIaobei to sit before sitting on her own bed.
But… this answer of mine is only something I could write here.
Over these past two days, I kept worrying about everything, the bad and the good. It honestly felt as though I was the one about to take the entrance exams.
“When I was nine, my mom was successful competing for a position. She was just promoted and got super busy, so everyday when she’d plait my hair, the two braids would never be the same size. Actually, back then, my looks were still alright, but my hair ruined it…”
“But… how are you going to introduce me? Are you going to say I’m your person, Captain?” Xiaoya asked.
My goddess will definitely make it into the imperial capital. That’s the difference between the top 2 popular majors and the least popular ones. She’s has good grades so she’ll have extra points for the college entrance exams.
Xiaoya: “If only I could see how the local people there live.”
In response I sighed, and my heart felt at ease.

“Xiaoyu (Little Rain).” A woman seeming to be in her forties or fifties stood not too far away from Lu Xiaobei and Xiaoya. She wore a dark blue dress and her hair was combed back into a bun, she appeared to be full of life and very capable.
Xiaoya’s mother had walked ahead of them, opening the door first before beckoning them inside.

When school was finished, Lu Xiaobei accompanied Xiaoya to the intersection as usual, then to the two buildings where Xiaoya’s house was.

Walking up the stairs, Xiaoya could hear the sound of Lu Xiaobei’s footsteps. Thinking of the other girl’s steps behind her, Xiaoya couldn’t stop her heart from being on pins and needles. Lu Xiaobei probably never came to such an ordinary house before, right?
Xiaoya: “What is it?”

“Close.” Xiaoya was embarrassed to say that Lu Xiaobei was sending her back home as it would make her mother ask even more questions, and that would be too troublesome.
“Our Xiaoya is the most clever indeed.” After saying this, Lu Xiaobei stood in front of Xiaoya, opening the little green app, and taught her how to connect to a VPN. “My phone already has Twitter, Instagram and Facebook. I have accounts for them linked to this phone already too, so you can just use those.”
Xiaoya carried a bag of groceries in her hand, making her hand ache. She then thought of the situation which happened earlier, feeling a bit embarrassed. Lu Xiaobei had seen her mother carrying something in her hand and offered to help, but XIaoya’s mother declined her twice.
Lu Xiaobei looked at at the picture, her eyes carrying a smile.
“Oh, when I was in the Netherlands, I lived in a small village with my mother. The scenery in that village was very beautiful, and there weren’t a lot of foreigners. My mother didn’t like outsiders coming into our house, and she never hired a nanny. On the days where she was busy, she’d just leave me in the park and the locals there liked talking with me. “When I was nine, my mom was successful competing for a position. She was just promoted and got super busy, so everyday when she’d plait my hair, the two braids would never be the same size. Actually, back then, my looks were still alright, but my hair ruined it…”
“Yeah, it is alright. But your friend has to agree,” Xiaoya’s mother replied.
But… this answer of mine is only something I could write here.
But… this answer of mine is only something I could write here.
Lu Xiaobei: “Not really, it doest matter either way to me since I just want to empty my mind. Why do you ask? Do you want to start your homework? I’m here, so I could help if you’d like.”
Lu Xiaobei stared into Xiaoya’s bright and shining eyes, eyes that made hard for her to refuse, so she agreed.
Xiaoya: “What is it?”
Xiaoya then said proudly: “Adorable, right? I was beautiful too, but then I got older and it went to crap.”
Lu Xiaobei held the door out of politeness, saying, “Thank you, Aunty.” Her appearance seeming calm, but she looked me over with a polite and curious eye.
So Xiaoya then asked Lu Xiaobei, “Captain, come eat dinner at my house, my mom’s cooking skills are incredible!” Doing so to avoid going back home and feeling unhappy.
Lu Xiaobei: “Really? You can sign up for an account on Facebook then. My phone is already connected to a VPN.” While Xiaoya muttered ‘I can’t’, Lu Xiaobei had already walked over and was beside her, asking, “Where’s your phone?”
Seeing the atmosphere was a bit awkward, Xiaoya took the initiative to take the bags from her mother. She originally thought the fruit and veggies weren’t that heavy, but before she reached the fifth floor, the strap of the bag had turned her hand blue.
Lu Xiaobei the offered: “Aunty, I can help you in the kitchen, if you’d like.”
Lu Xiaobei: “I haven’t told my family as yet.”
“Captain, this is my room. It’s a bit small, though.”
Xiaoya: “After you’re at my house, you can call them. If they don’t agree, then just forget about it.”
Xiaoya wobbled her head proudly, explaining, “The most dangerous place is the safest place, otherwise, when my mom searches my room everyday, she would’ve found the phone a long time ago, you know?!”
Xiaoya: “After you’re at my house, you can call them. If they don’t agree, then just forget about it.”
iana: oooh…
Lu Xiaobei: “No. Life overseas isn’t so perfect. Some of the older folks over there were very boring.”
She then looked at the large window in the front of her desk, saying: “It’s very warm. The sunshine during the day must be very nice.” She then turned her gaze, pointing to a silly of a little girl sitting on the bedside table, asking, “How old were you there?”
Lu Xiaobei stared into Xiaoya’s bright and shining eyes, eyes that made hard for her to refuse, so she agreed.
“I know, mom.” Now that Lu Xiaobei appeared, she rightly became the infamous other people’s childT/n: Other people’s kid is the perfect child other parent’s tell their own kids to be like.
After graduation, whether I’m still in contact with my goddess or not, I truly hope she is well. That she will always be beautiful, always proud, and always dazzling.
Lu Xiaobei: “Really? You can sign up for an account on Facebook then. My phone is already connected to a VPN.” While Xiaoya muttered ‘I can’t’, Lu Xiaobei had already walked over and was beside her, asking, “Where’s your phone?”
“I was talking with my friend for a while,” Xiaoya replied.
Lu Xiaobei then asked, “Um, your phone… why was it in there?” The tissue box was opaque and green in colour, and a large opening on its top which was convenient or pulling tissues out, but there just happened to also be a phone inside.

The most beautiful person I had ever met in my life, my best friend, is about to head off to a battlefield, a battlefield called the college entrance examination.. I truly believe she will blaze through every obstacle, push forward to seize the enemy flag and declare her victory!
Lu Xiaobei: “I guess…”
Seeing the atmosphere was a bit awkward, Xiaoya took the initiative to take the bags from her mother. She originally thought the fruit and veggies weren’t that heavy, but before she reached the fifth floor, the strap of the bag had turned her hand blue.

She then asked, “Why did you tell me so much about your childhood?”
The woman not too far away, Xiaoya’s mother, walked over, asking: “Why aren’t you home yet?” While asking this, she checked out Lu Xiaobei from the corner of her eye.
Xiaoya’s mother had walked ahead of them, opening the door first before beckoning them inside.
Xiaoya then said proudly: “Adorable, right? I was beautiful too, but then I got older and it went to crap.”

Lu Xiaobei introduced herself: “Nice to meet you, Aunty. I’m Lu Xiaobei.”
My mother toils this much, yet she never said anything.
—— From the dividing line who’s sorry she didn’t have a story about her goddess today. But she’s about to take her college entrance exams, so I just wish her success in everything she desires ——
I sincerely wish for her to leave this sea of misery known as high school, but I’m also sad. The day until we’ll separate will also begin its countdown. Soon, the day will come when we have to part. Forget about the super unconfident girl she once met who was just like an ugly little duckling.
Xiaoya’s mother had walked ahead of them, opening the door first before beckoning them inside.

“Close.” Xiaoya was embarrassed to say that Lu Xiaobei was sending her back home as it would make her mother ask even more questions, and that would be too troublesome.
Lu Xiaobei held the door out of politeness, saying, “Thank you, Aunty.” Her appearance seeming calm, but she looked me over with a polite and curious eye.
Prompting Lu Xiaobei to reply, her words full of meaning, “Whose person should I say you are, then?”
Over these past two days, I kept worrying about everything, the bad and the good. It honestly felt as though I was the one about to take the entrance exams.

Xiaoya’s mother then said to Xiaoya: “Invite your friend up to your room to relax.”
Xiaoya’s mother had walked ahead of them, opening the door first before beckoning them inside.
What’s it like being friends with a goddess?

Lu Xiaobei the offered: “Aunty, I can help you in the kitchen, if you’d like.”
“Yeah, it is alright. But your friend has to agree,” Xiaoya’s mother replied.
Lu Xiaobei lifted the phone Xiaoya had gifted her, saying, “No, I already sent them a message.”
The woman not too far away, Xiaoya’s mother, walked over, asking: “Why aren’t you home yet?” While asking this, she checked out Lu Xiaobei from the corner of her eye.
“Xiaoyu (Little Rain).” A woman seeming to be in her forties or fifties stood not too far away from Lu Xiaobei and Xiaoya. She wore a dark blue dress and her hair was combed back into a bun, she appeared to be full of life and very capable.
Anyway, maybe it’s because I’m more confident, or perhaps it’s because I’ve been paying attention to my diet because there’s no pimples on my face. When I pass by the neighbouring primary school the kids there even call me pretty big sis. (Grinning)
“Does your friend live nearby?” Xiaoya’s mother asked.
But… this answer of mine is only something I could write here.
Xiaoya the chimed in: “Captain’s cooking is really delicious.”
My mother toils this much, yet she never said anything.

But Xiaoya’s mom replied: “You’re our guest, you don’t need to worry about this, so just go have fun with Xiaoya, okay?” She then motioned to Xiaoya to lead Lu Xiaibei to her room.
Lu Xiaobei said while holding in a grin, “Adorable.”

“No, it’s rare for you to be at my house, so…” Xiaoya stuck out her tongue, continuing, “A little while ago, my mom said I should learn from you. You’re even kind to people from my mother’s generation, Captain.”
To me, this place is like my secret tree holeT/n: A place you could put all your secrets for safekeeping.], it’s much easier to pound out all the bitterness in my heart here.
After Lu Xiaobei went into Xiaoya’s room, her mother pulled her aside and said: “See how sensible other people are? Take some fruit from the living room and go. Don’t be too noisy, and don’t forget to do your home work while you’re having fun.”
Lu Xiaobei introduced herself: “Nice to meet you, Aunty. I’m Lu Xiaobei.”
“Because a chance like this is hard to come by, and I just happened to talk about it. Do you want us to start studying now, Captain?” Xiaoya replied.

Now in her room, Xiaoya placed the delicious looking green grapes on the tea table, pulled out a chair, asking Lu XIaobei to sit before sitting on her own bed.
Lu Xiaobei: “I haven’t told my family as yet.”
Xiaoya: “Captain, is something wrong? Do you need to call home?”
When school was finished, Lu Xiaobei accompanied Xiaoya to the intersection as usual, then to the two buildings where Xiaoya’s house was.
Maybe she’ll wish me goodnight through QQ, and when she has the time she might even chat with me. But… the more she knows about the world, the more she sees the world… maybe, she might even forget about me too…

Lu Xiaobei looked around the room, at the snow white wallpaper, the dark brown standard furnishings, along with the anime posters hung on the wall behind the bed and the figurines lining the bookshelf which very much exuded Xiaoya’s personal style.

When school was finished, Lu Xiaobei accompanied Xiaoya to the intersection as usual, then to the two buildings where Xiaoya’s house was.
Xiaoya kept chattering on without end, then after a while, she noticed Lu Xiaobei hadn’t said anything.
Only then did Xiaoya remember Lu Xiaobei’s family situation, and that Lu Xiaobei didn’t want to stay with them during the Spring Festival at all, let alone now. Making Xiaoya want to beat herself up so she won’t say anything that stupid again.

I just felt extremely sad. Sad I could only be with my goddess for a short period of time, sad that all I would be… was just a passer-by in her life…

Xiaoya, suddenly remembering something, asked: “Is today okay then? During the weekend, isn’t dad going to catch a few fish and keep them in the bathtub? He’s working overtime today, so how about the three of us have dinner.”
Without even knowing it, it’s already been four months since I started answering questions. There’s been a lot of things that have happened in these past four months too. It’s currently four in the morning, and I just woke up after having a dream about my goddess. In it she was smiling at me, an especially beautiful smile at that. It’s all her fault I’m having them too, all because of those gorgeous pictures she kept sending me every day.
“I know, mom.” Now that Lu Xiaobei appeared, she rightly became the infamous other people’s childT/n: Other people’s kid is the perfect child other parent’s tell their own kids to be like.

Seeing Lu Xiaobei was interested, she happily rummaged through a cupboard drawer and found an old album, showing it to Lu Xiaobei: “This is my childhood album, the one with the earliest pictures. Before I turned three, I still lived at my grandparents…”
“But… how are you going to introduce me? Are you going to say I’m your person, Captain?” Xiaoya asked.

Xiaoya kept chattering on without end, then after a while, she noticed Lu Xiaobei hadn’t said anything.

Lu Xiaobei the offered: “Aunty, I can help you in the kitchen, if you’d like.”

“Because a chance like this is hard to come by, and I just happened to talk about it. Do you want us to start studying now, Captain?” Xiaoya replied.
Xiaoya’s mother gave Lu Xiaobei a smile, saying: “Hello, I’m Xiaoya’s mother. It’s very nice to meet such a good looking kid. If you have the time, you’re welcome to come hang out at our house.”

Xiaoya carried a bag of groceries in her hand, making her hand ache. She then thought of the situation which happened earlier, feeling a bit embarrassed. Lu Xiaobei had seen her mother carrying something in her hand and offered to help, but XIaoya’s mother declined her twice.
What’s it like being friends with a goddess?
“Our Xiaoya is the most clever indeed.” After saying this, Lu Xiaobei stood in front of Xiaoya, opening the little green app, and taught her how to connect to a VPN. “My phone already has Twitter, Instagram and Facebook. I have accounts for them linked to this phone already too, so you can just use those.”
Lu Xiaobei held the door out of politeness, saying, “Thank you, Aunty.” Her appearance seeming calm, but she looked me over with a polite and curious eye.
Lu Xiaobei chuckled at this, saying: “There’s no need to wait until after the examinations…”
Lu Xiaobei introduced herself: “Nice to meet you, Aunty. I’m Lu Xiaobei.”

Xiaoya: “If only I could see how the local people there live.”
Seeing the atmosphere was a bit awkward, Xiaoya took the initiative to take the bags from her mother. She originally thought the fruit and veggies weren’t that heavy, but before she reached the fifth floor, the strap of the bag had turned her hand blue.
Happy Children’s Day everybody! I’m still a child, so why are a bunch of people asking me to reply to questions about lily stuff? I don’t think there’s anything lily related around me, so there’s no way I could answer any questions related to it~
But… this answer of mine is only something I could write here.
The most beautiful person I had ever met in my life, my best friend, is about to head off to a battlefield, a battlefield called the college entrance examination.. I truly believe she will blaze through every obstacle, push forward to seize the enemy flag and declare her victory!
Shocked, Xiaoya said in turn: “Mom.”
Lu Xiaobei: “Really? You can sign up for an account on Facebook then. My phone is already connected to a VPN.” While Xiaoya muttered ‘I can’t’, Lu Xiaobei had already walked over and was beside her, asking, “Where’s your phone?”
I just felt extremely sad. Sad I could only be with my goddess for a short period of time, sad that all I would be… was just a passer-by in her life…
“Xiaoyu (Little Rain).” A woman seeming to be in her forties or fifties stood not too far away from Lu Xiaobei and Xiaoya. She wore a dark blue dress and her hair was combed back into a bun, she appeared to be full of life and very capable.

From the drawer in her nightstand, Xiaoya pulled out a tissue box, but instead of tissues, she then pulled out a phone. After unlocking it, she asked, “What do I have to do?”
Xiaoya: “What is it?”
From the drawer in her nightstand, Xiaoya pulled out a tissue box, but instead of tissues, she then pulled out a phone. After unlocking it, she asked, “What do I have to do?”
“Close.” Xiaoya was embarrassed to say that Lu Xiaobei was sending her back home as it would make her mother ask even more questions, and that would be too troublesome.
—— From the dividing line who’s sorry she didn’t have a story about her goddess today. But she’s about to take her college entrance exams, so I just wish her success in everything she desires ——
Lu Xiaobei the offered: “Aunty, I can help you in the kitchen, if you’d like.”
Xiaoya’s mother gave Lu Xiaobei a smile, saying: “Hello, I’m Xiaoya’s mother. It’s very nice to meet such a good looking kid. If you have the time, you’re welcome to come hang out at our house.”
Xiaoya: “After you’re at my house, you can call them. If they don’t agree, then just forget about it.”
Lu Xiaobei then asked, “Um, your phone… why was it in there?” The tissue box was opaque and green in colour, and a large opening on its top which was convenient or pulling tissues out, but there just happened to also be a phone inside.

Over these past two days, I kept worrying about everything, the bad and the good. It honestly felt as though I was the one about to take the entrance exams.

Xiaoya the chimed in: “Captain’s cooking is really delicious.”
Xiaoya the chimed in: “Captain’s cooking is really delicious.”
Xiaoya wobbled her head proudly, explaining, “The most dangerous place is the safest place, otherwise, when my mom searches my room everyday, she would’ve found the phone a long time ago, you know?!”
Xiaoya: “If only I could see how the local people there live.”

Xiaoya scrolled through Lu Xiaobei’s Facebook account for a while, saying, “But all your friends are here, Captain. There’s no way I could post stuff.”
“Does your friend live nearby?” Xiaoya’s mother asked.
“You can post whatever you want, or you can chat with them. I’ll introduce you.” Lu Xiaobei replied.
In response I sighed, and my heart felt at ease.
“But… how are you going to introduce me? Are you going to say I’m your person, Captain?” Xiaoya asked.
Maybe she’ll wish me goodnight through QQ, and when she has the time she might even chat with me. But… the more she knows about the world, the more she sees the world… maybe, she might even forget about me too…
She then looked at the large window in the front of her desk, saying: “It’s very warm. The sunshine during the day must be very nice.” She then turned her gaze, pointing to a silly of a little girl sitting on the bedside table, asking, “How old were you there?”

Xiaoya, suddenly remembering something, asked: “Is today okay then? During the weekend, isn’t dad going to catch a few fish and keep them in the bathtub? He’s working overtime today, so how about the three of us have dinner.”
Over these past two days, I kept worrying about everything, the bad and the good. It honestly felt as though I was the one about to take the entrance exams.
Prompting Lu Xiaobei to reply, her words full of meaning, “Whose person should I say you are, then?”
“Close.” Xiaoya was embarrassed to say that Lu Xiaobei was sending her back home as it would make her mother ask even more questions, and that would be too troublesome.

Lu Xiaobei introduced herself: “Nice to meet you, Aunty. I’m Lu Xiaobei.”
Lu Xiaobei: “I haven’t told my family as yet.”
After graduation, whether I’m still in contact with my goddess or not, I truly hope she is well. That she will always be beautiful, always proud, and always dazzling.
“I know, mom.” Now that Lu Xiaobei appeared, she rightly became the infamous other people’s childT/n: Other people’s kid is the perfect child other parent’s tell their own kids to be like.
Lu Xiaobei: “Really? You can sign up for an account on Facebook then. My phone is already connected to a VPN.” While Xiaoya muttered ‘I can’t’, Lu Xiaobei had already walked over and was beside her, asking, “Where’s your phone?”
