The Gods Decree - Chapter 164 Gravity
There was something about what the evening brought. The skies were beautiful with its borderless flow of clarity. Who knew how far it spanned as the eyes could see no end?
A smattering of low-level flat clouds was spread out to the horizon, while cold winds blew. Yet, would this put a damper on the city of lights below?
Not a chance.
All was the same except on all street coats were worn buttoned up tightly to the necks, in a bid to escape from the freezing winds.
In an abode reserved for the comfort of the visiting squads of the Dark Abylis Sect was Taf. Before him were the three squad leaders as he sat beside a cozy fireplace.
“After the sect heard of what had occurred from the reports they became enraged.
There are now two elders who are en route to the city. Their arrival is estimated to be in approximately two days’ time.”
Ava addressed all in the room as she was the one in charge of sending through the final reports to the sect.
“What about our orders?”
Malnor then asked. After all, two elders were on their way. Would there be a need to greet them when they have arrived?
Ava once more spoke,
“Our orders are to report to the sect. The elders will take care of everything regarding Starlight City. Our roles have ended.”
There was evident relief in Ava’s voice as she spoke the last words.
All she could think about was taking back the bodies of Ashley, Marshall, and Shinzo. Allowing their families to mourn, after which giving them a burial that was befitting.
This too was Malnor’s sentiments. One of his greatest regrets, however, was out of all his squadmates that were killed, there was one without even a body.
This was Karr who as of yet they had no concrete evidence of how he died. Other than Taf’s theory on the matter.
Initially, he hoped that a body could have been recovered. At least to show to Karr’s newly engaged fiance.
His heart ached when he thought about bringing her the news of her now-deceased beloved. He feared the sect giving her the news of Karr’s death before he got the chance to sit her down.
Then gently disclosing what had occurred.
“Ok, since we have received our orders at noon the city will see our departure. Let’s all get some rest ensuring we are at our best for the journey home.”
Taf finally spoke, all then agreed before going off to their private quarters. He then summoned to his hand one of the crow pins as he pondered on something.
Soon May entered the room seeing him by the fire with his gaze unmoving from the pin in his hands. She then asked,
“What’s the matter?”
Taf looked up only now realizing she had entered the brightly lit room. Then he replied,
“It just seems a bit too convenient, doesn’t it?”
His words piqued May’s curiosity as she took a seat beside him close to the toasty lit fire.
“Actually the thought had crossed my mind. I wondered why would mercenaries have the pins of a sect?
Initially, I assumed it was the Crows disguised as mercenaries, but if so be the case wouldn’t they have discarded all associated with the Sect from their possession?”
Taf did agree with May’s sentiments as he added a bit of his own,
“They are definitely mercenaries, Drax confirmed my suspicions. Why do I have the feeling we are seeing what is designed for our viewing? What does this have to do with a lord realm?
I have no clue.”
A sigh was heard from Taf as he ended. It was quite evident something was taking place. However, with the limited clues, he was stumped for any answers as to what might actually be unfolding.
“It’s now out of our hands and the mission is completed on our side. Let us let the elders take it from here.”
Taf then nodded his head in agreement. He suddenly got up out his chair stretching. While looking at May he grasped her hand before saying with a smirk,
“So are you ready?”
May became slightly puzzled as to what he possibly meant. So she responded,
“For what?”
Soon a suction force was felt as Taf pulled them both into his space stone.
????????????????????????
Above the two was an inky canopy of the endless abyss with tiny freckles of sparkles which represented the stars.
Yet, their light faded in comparison to the three glowing moons that hung above.
“You wanted to know what I hid from you right?”
As Taf spoke May nodded her head out of curiosity.
Soon he placed his hands over her abdomen. In an instant static energy formed around his palm.
Within her dantian, May felt a slight jolt of electricity flowing through which startled her a bit. Taf smiled as he whispered,
“Stay calm I’m giving you a gift.”
Soon bolts of black lightning formed around his palm which astounded May who watched the ordeal.
“You learned to control the heavenly black lightning?”
She hurriedly asked. When she assessed her dantian there were bolts of black lightning dormant away from her beast, spirit and elemental qi.
“Not only did I learn to control it. It created a new art tier onto itself. Its benefits are beyond what you would imagine.
I wanted to surprise you with this particular benefit when the mission was completed. Find authorized novels in Webnovel, faster updates, better experience,Please click www.novelhall.com for visiting.
However, perhaps it’s best If you get a bit of practice.”
His words evidently enticed May’s curiosity. What was the benefit he spoke so highly of she wondered?
“Use your qi to activate the heavenly black lightning.”
Taf nudged May a bit who hurriedly did as he requested. Her curiosity had truly been piqued. As her qi activated touching the black lightning, it became engaged with a sizzling sound being heard.
Soon May discovered that she wasn’t in control of her body. She was lifted while still in the lotus stance.
The distance from the ground became more evident as below she saw Taf smiling as she drifted off. May was so startled she had not a clue what to do in order to make her way to the ground.
“Taf you brute!”
She exclaimed seeing him grinning below not offering any assistance as if a show was in progress. As she watched him black bolts of lightning twisted around his body as he ascended in the air.
Taf then made his way in her direction as cool as a cucumber. Laughing while saying,
“I didn’t say to use a significant amount of qi, did I?”
There has never been a moment May felt the urge to punch Taf as she did at this instant. Obviously he didn’t warn her about the amount of qi to be expended when using the art.
It’s clear he thought it would be amusing to see her reaction.
May fumed as there he was still laughing it up as though it was the funniest thing he ever saw. Her with her legs wobbling in the air as she aimed to walk.
Hehe!
“Ok, Ok.., Calm down. Stay in place and feel the wind on your face. You have the wind element so that should help.”
Hearing his words May tried to stay calm as she did what he requested. Taf smiled while seeing the quickness by which she went into the state.
“Now instead of using your arms and limbs. Focus on the black lightning within your dantian. Allow it to guide your movements.
If you want to go up, focus the lightning below your body. If its to descend, focus above.”
Following Taf’s words to the letter slowly May’s body adjusted. She felt as lite as a feather while she glided through the star-filled skies.
“So the black lightning gave you the ability of flight?”
May asked finally coming to terms with what was happening.
“I wouldn’t say flight in particular but by controlling the tiny particular around everything moves as you intend. This I discovered by accident while practicing.
As I said early this is a higher tier than an elemental art. I call it heaven’s Art-Gravity, one of the benefits of the heavenly black lightning.”
The two flew through the skies while Taf explained. Slowly May had acclimatized fully with the gravity technique as her speed increased.
“This is awesome Taf!”
She spun in the air as her silver hair blew with the wind.
She then asked,
“So does it expend a lot of qi transferring this ability within my dantian?”
May was always the worried type. There is no way she would accept this qi if she knew it somewhat could detrimental to him.
Taf smile as he saw her concern before replying,
“Hey it’s minimal, nothing to worry about.”
He then continued by saying with a cheeky smile on his face,
“So I have been fuming inside because of my previous loss, how about a race for the tiebreaker. We do two laps around the large mountains and back.”
This caused a big grinned to be plastered on the May’s pretty face as she responded,
“Deal, however, you have quite an advantage at your disposal,.This is, of course, your art”
With an image of one pondering she held her small chin.
“How about I give you a handicap? one-minute head start and I will use the same amount of black lightning.”
Boom!
May sped off heading to the first mountain as she laughed behind,
“Gives you time to reflect on why you should never challenge this lady.”
Taf grinned as black lightning slowly took shape around his body as the seconds ticked by…
