The Gods Decree - Chapter 175 Morbid
???? One year and eleven months from the present????
It was one of those nights in which the star showcased their beauty as they multiplied by the thousands.
Not a cloud could be seen in the sky as the giant glowing moon and stars acted as lanterns to those below.
Yet, It was a pity that in one location it was not the beautiful night that took the limelight but something far more speculative to those who observed.
BOOOM!
The last debris from a wall that all prior thought was impenetrable crashed down. Above in the sky, they saw a figure wearing a peculiar mask. It was black and bore distinct similarities to that of a mouse with an odd smile on its face.
Yet, there was nothing to smile about as all below looked in sheer terror as previously this intruder destroyed half of their sect like it was nothing.
Though he was outnumbered by the sect elders within the skies, they all turned into projectiles as they descended crashing into buildings flattening them to dust.
This whole time he had not uttered a word only providing carnage where ever he went.
“Just tell us what you want and perhaps things can be resolved peacefully.”
An elder whose qi was at the peak of the latter stages of the Lord realm tried to plea to the masked vigilantly who obviously had some vendetta against his sect.
The masked assailant paused as though actually contemplating the man’s words with his head tilted slightly.
Flicker…
Without warning the high elder felt a presence formed before him. An iron hand swiftly grasped around his throat as he was unable to react in time.
He grappled for breath while trying to release the hand’s hold only to feel its grasp crushing his air pipes even more. Seeing their superior in need of assistant all tried to rush to his aid. Find authorized novels in Webnovel, faster updates, better experience,Please click www.novelhall.com for visiting.
However, the air suddenly changed as they shivered. When they exhaled the water vapor in their breath condensed into multiple tiny droplets of liquid water and ice that could be seen in the air as a cloud, similar to fog.
Descending from the air was a female figure in an all-white battle suite. Her hair was jet black and she wore a mask that was dissimilar to that of the man. It was white and had what appeared to be a cat’s face on it.
“Shit there are two of them!”
Another elder shouted seeing the new arrival who seemed also a powerful foe. The high elder took note of the occurrence and knew his fate was now out of his control.
Seeing this was the case he right there and then decided he would die under his own terms.
His dantian glowed as blue qi shrouded his body while he took one last look at the masked individual who caused his demise with a smirk.
Soon however his smirk slowly withdrew as he felt his qi diminishing from his dantian which had small cracks formed all around readying to explode.
With the high elder’s neck in his grasp, the masked man pulled him forward as he whispered a few words in his ear.
“I deem your life mine thus your demise will only be under my terms.”
His words sent shivers down the man’s spine as he recognized the voice of the person behind the mask. Then it struck him like a thunderbolt the meaning behind the man’s word.
“Yo..you should be dead!”
He exclaimed as he trembled now knowing the true reason behind the actions of the vigilante.
????????????????????
Within the distance enraged shouts could be heard as five figures tore through the brightened skies. From all appearances, their qi differed from those at the realm of lords.
It was purer and yet so stifling overbearing that even the plants bowed in reverence.
Following the five an even more overbearing qi could be felt that dwarfed all. As quickly as the qi was felt a man was seen walking towards the masked individual casually as though all was under his control.
His appearance was middle-aged with tricklings of gray within his hair. It was obvious by the show of his qi previously all was a means to highlight he was by no means intimidated by the intruder.
“To dare barge into by sect as you have done shows you are by no means a weakling.
From my knowledge, my sect has not made any new enemies, so I am flabbergasted as to the reasons behind your actions.”
The new arrival spoke while eying both intruders. In particular the man with the mask of a mouse. Still held in his hand was the throat of his high elder.
Usually, the high elder would not be phased by such things as death but from the look in his eyes, it was as though he saw a demon escaping from his worst nightmare.
This surprised the sect leader who saw some indication he was being warned.
“Fargo, what is it?”
He questioned telepathically but to his wonderment, there was no reply from his high elder.
“So you finally showed your face. Just the person I was waiting for. Sure took your time, didn’t you? Now we shall truly begin”
The man in the mask words startled the one at the helm of the sect hierarchy. Who was this man and what grievance did he have against his sect?
Perhaps he and his female companion were mercenaries for hire sent by one of their long-time enemies.
Put into the context of the situation it all somewhat seemed plausible they were mercenaries. With the masks, it could be said they wanted their identities kept a secret.
The masked antagonist once more became silent as he motioned with his hand. An inscription could be seen forming within the skies. It glowed in purple lighting as soon a portal became evident.
From the portal, a black box could be seen slowly emerging before the man whose expression could not be seen. However, it was as though his cold gaze pierced through the mask.
“Fuck! Devil summons!”
The sect leader for the first time felt the situation perhaps could not be salvaged.
“We had a deal. I should have known better than to trust the words of a devil.”
A cold sensation was felt by all who saw the box. It was a coffin wrapped in barb wire with the blood of all colors dripping from it. There was a wry morbid feel as it was engulfed in purple qi.
” So I was right. A gift not only from myself but countless others. Even in death, I will not let you or your elders rest in peace…”
Hearing his words all looked to the masked assailant who motioned with his hand to his face as the mask slowly faded.
Seeing the face beneath, most were taken aback as a young dark appearance could be seen. He could be no more than seventeen with brown and black dreadlock blowing in the wind.
Yet within those young eyes, there was only coldness as though he was gazing on a sea of corpses.
