The Gods Decree - Chapter 177 My Little Friend
With the wind blowing on his face and May to his side Taf mused as he sat atop Hammerhead’s back. All had given him qi stones apart from four who suspiciously look on.
“Why do I have the feeling that we are being bamboozled?”
Neisha was the first to speak of her suspicions while she sat with the broad sword atop her lap. The others nodded but for those who had forgone their belonging.
Their they appraised Taf’s tale and did realize somethings indeed seem off amidst how things unfolded.
His quickness in revealing informing about the aforementioned tree was quite easy, wasn’t it? If they were in his supposed position, would they have done the same?
There Taf looked at them while tossing a space pouch within his hands with a smile blossoming on his face.
Of those who had indulged in Taf’s tale, Lovren looked on hatefully seeing how he was duped out of his savings by some fictional anecdote. He then yelled angrily,
“Taf you bastard! Give me back my space pouch!”
“Careful how you speak to a lord, junior.” Taf teased moving left and right with index finger causing Lovren to halt in his tracks.
Deep down he truly feared Taf even though he knew that no harm would befall him. Still, he instinctively dressed back.
“Take it as a learning experience on your path. Do not let tales of grandeur allow you to lose sight of what is most important.
The pursuit of elixirs and enchanted fruit detours one from what is truly meaningful, which is hard work.”
Taf humbly continued seemingly driving home a message to one who was less experienced on the path like a true veteran in the field.
“What about our space pouches? What does that have to do with your teaching?”
Selena too was enraged. Not solely because she was deceived by Taf but noting among the group she was the only ninth stage cultivator that had fallen for his deceptive tale.
This was a very low point for her who always thought she had matured from past events. To this Taf laughed while uttering,
“Note in your words ‘teaching’. If I am said to be your teacher surely this justifies me being compensated at a level commensurate with my post.
Though in all fairness, I think if anything I am owed. I am after all a lord right?”
As Taf spoke they all held similar thoughts of how shameless he was but in some ways, they had to admit they liked this side.
“Ok, Taf I think they have learned their lesson,”
May uttered with a grin plastered on her face. She knew Taf would only continue to push the boundaries in his fun.
Seeing Lovren face become redder by the minute Taf chuckled before throwing the pouches back towards them.
They grabbed on with glee with their faces flushed as the others laughed on. There Malgrey then asked a question that has plagued his mind ever since the reveal of both May and Taf’s strength.
“What will be the next step for both of you?”
This he asked knowing that with the two’s strength there was no means by which they would stay under his reign.
This brought momentary silence from all the squad members. Surely staying with Squad Malgrey would limit their growth significantly.
His question did cause his squad to reminisce about their time together and they had to admit in these nearly two weeks there had never been a better time for the squad.
Both May and Taf looked at the other thinking what their next step might be. Then they remembered the vague insight Draconian Alestar gave as to the need for them to join the Dark Abylis Sect.
“Don’t tell me you trying to get rid of us squad leader Malgrey. Neisha and I have only recently started bonding. ” May deflected with a charming smile.
While May spoke, however, something drew Taf’s attention from the conversation. Soon a wicked smile grew on his face as he uttered.
“For the time being, we’ll regroup at the sect where we’ll discuss the way forward. Something has come to our attention and needs a bit of handling. Therefore we’ll bid our adieus for now.”
His words startled everyone including May who knew they had made no plans in advance. Yet she surmised something must have caught his interest that she was unaware of.
Not waiting for their response Taf gave the order for Hammerhead to head west as the squads of the Dark Abylis Sect looked on not know what to make of the situation.
“Taf what happened?” May inquired on Hammerheads back as it sped through the air.
Taf with a slightly intrigued look on his face responded. “I’ll like you to meet a little friend of mine. Well, don’t take the ‘little’ literally.”
He ended with a bit of laughter in his voice which puzzled May having no clue of what he spoke.
“Don’t worry you’ll understand.”
There was a ghost town in which even vermins looked down in disdain. The houses and buildings were decrepit musty, so much so. that even the faintest winds might cause their demise.
From one of these wretched building, hateful shouts could be heard.
“Bastards the whole lot of them. Yet still, this one remains the smarted in the room. Think you could take my life, did yah!
Just watch you bastards! The day will come when I will return the favor threefold. Because of you, I had to sacrifice my ‘To To.’ 1 ”
There a man whose skin was scaly and shedding looked hatefully yet still a grin started to form at the side of his mouth as he saw a ring on his toe.
“Hehe, Even you little Devil have learned a valuable lesson on your path. Whenever you meet a Draxx. You’ll always be second best. ”
Draxx laughed as he felt his neck devoid of those snake-like evil chains that sent shivers down his spine. He then assessed his dantian as his qi level had fallen to the fifth qi condensation. A small sacrifice in his eyes. This new having avoided being a slave and death within the same day.
“Even when they are lords they are still idiots.”
He mused as he readied himself to recover some of his previously lost cultivation summoning a medium level qi stone within his grasp.
Soon pure elemental qi gushed forth towards his dantian as though it was a well that ran dry it gobbled it up. While this occurred thoughts of his next move flooded his mind.
Where would he traverse and once more make his name.
One thing is for certain he would never see the Chu again in his life. Wherever that devil went he would certainly avoid as though it was the plague.
“Huh?!”
After a several hours, He became jolted from his thought having felt something peculiar unfolded within his dantian.
At the rate by which he was cultivating his progress should have surely been greater than what had actually unfolded.
Quickly he halted his action in a means to arrive at a conclusion as to this peculiarity. Soon hidden within his elemental qi Drax then saw the culprit.
Seeing what was unfolding sent shivers down his spine. There gorging itself as he was cultivating was what appeared to be static energy.
“What tha fuck?!”
He exclaimed in fright as within a millisecond he became aware of the culprit. There could only be one. The young devil he encountered a few days prying.
“I,I got to go!”
The ginormous Drax panicked as he attempted to sprint from the decrepit building. However soon he heard a voice that was the Devil himself. for visiting.
“Aren’t you full of surprises Mr. Chubs. It seems you have taken advantage of my saintly qualities. I gave you an inch, yet you take a mile.
It seemed you basked in the latitude to walk. Maybe there is a need to rectify my seeming oversight by ridding you of those ginormous feet.”
Drax looked in horror as the building collapsed above him amidst a youth with dreads floaing from the skies. He had on a smile but to Drax, this brought no warmth only terror.
“Lord Realm!”
To be continued…
