The Gods Decree - Chapter 191 What The Night Brings
Looking up thousands of bats could be seen fluttering as the night came. They then dove down to the two in a haunting manner yet neither flinched while some displeasure showed on their faces.
Laughter could then be heard as the thousand black bats fused into an opaque fog from whence came a man.
He was garbed in black and on his shoulder remained one of the bats which apparently hadn’t fused into the fog. It was larger in stature similar to a megabat with the face of a fox. He smiled at the two even when seeing the discontent on their faces.
“My My Devil Yuro, when will you noose that temper of yours?”
He uttered to the devilish teen with a grin. His eyes then shifted observing the voluptuous Mei while he licked his lips saying,
“Your disciple has aged considerably well, How about shifting her tutelage to my care? There are a few lessons I can teach of which you are not quite suited.”
Evidently, the devilish teen was known as Yuro, with obvious displeasure she shouted,
“Shoo bat I have no time for your annoyance!”
“No catching up? Has our relationship deteriorated to such an extent? Or is it that old folk become more irritable as they arrive in their twilight years?”
The man teased as he saw purple qi shrouding like mist slowly making its way up a mountain. It was quite apparent he knew the means by which to truly irritate her.
He continued to laugh like a comedian enjoying his own show as he then sought to dose the flames he stirred,
GeGe!
“I mean no harm. Where has that sense of humor gone? I bring news.” Hearing his words devil Yuro paused. She then stated threateningly,
“Xeeno I’ll give one minute before I summon my Devo demons to play. Your bats are considered a delicacy if I am not mistaken, right?”
With the mention of her deva demon the megabat hist with its fangs in the direction of the devilish teen Yuro. By its action, it didn’t take kindly to being referred to as a dish by her. In some ways, it too sent a threat of its own as its black abylis eyes stared unblinkingly.
“You never seem to change I see. Very well, you do recall the devil trio within the Meng province? Well, they have made significant strides in comparison to us within the Fu.
From the intel I have gathered the major clans are on the brink of war.” Devil Xeno replied as he fed a berry to the bat in order to appease it somewhat.
“…and why would we care about their accomplishment? Their infiltration of the clans prior is a well know fact among our ranks. Hence it is inevitable their gains will be seen before ours. There is still two years in which to honor our oaths as stipulated by that ghastly corpse.”
Yuro retorted by saying with obvious contempt for the corpse while ending her thought. In some ways, the corpse was doing what she subsequently did to the Develo brothers.
No cultivator liked others fiddling with their soul and devils weren’t an exception. If anything they feared it more than those who used other paths to cultivate. Xeno with a fiendish smile uttered,
“That is where you are wrong. Though a war for them is beneficial, after your failure and blatant use of a devil’s contract, things have thus changed.
We have now lost that element of surprise which cannot be underestimated. It is quite clear your motives and won’t take long for the sects to see the same clues within the Meng province”
Deep down Yuro knew Xeno spoke some truth. Yet if she had not activated the devil’s contract when she did it might have been too late. She acknowledged there was a risk of the Dark Abylis Sect finding clues after the summon. Still, there was no point in lamenting in the past therefore she replied,
” I quite enjoy my enemies waiting agonizingly wondering the day I might lay siege. What can I say, it adds a bit of intrigue.”
GeGe!
Xeeno once again laughed as he shook his head,
“You always were proud of your strength in the past, yet it has lost that zest somehow. let me be brutally honest Yuro, you are no match for her.”
“I don’t know of whom you speak.”
Though she spoke those words Yuro’s qi showed obvious signs of becoming unstable. It seems the mere mention of this person showed a side not seen by many.
Mei for one was surprised at her master’s reaction to Xeeno’s words. She wondered who was this person that was mention. From all the time that was spent with her master, there was no specifying of anyone she could think of who would garner such a reaction.
GeGe!
“I see your master hasn’t been totally honest with you, still it is within our nature to be pathological liars I guess.”
Xeena laughed while uttering to Mei as he sought to dig deeper into Yuro’s skin with his words,
” I recall vividly the trashing she gave that day, at that time you didn’t have to use tricks to camouflage your age. ”
With each of Xeeno’s words, Yuro’s qi became volatile yet he didn’t care one bit as his fiendish smile grew. The skies above began to darken as a seeming deluge looked inevitable.
“I’m no therapist but this does show signs of repressed emotions. No wonder you targeted the Dark Abylis Sect. Yet that old crow didn’t even bat an eye, it seems your still inferior in her heart.”
“Sixty-one seconds it seems your minute has ended. You’ve shown quite the interest in my strength, so why don’t I give you a demonstration. Mei stay out of this one..”
While Yuro spoke a devils smile grace her lips as she bit down causing red blood to drip. Before a drop could touch the floor they oddly floated up within the darkened qi. Multiple purple inscriptions suddenly spiraled in the air as space opened up.
Slowing making their way from the inscriptions were red demon-like creatures with long elongated horns protruding on their foreheads. Each demon was at least fifteen meters in length with battle axes drawn similarly as sharp as their razor-like teeth.
They smelt the air and licked their lips before viewing Xeeno below. Yet they seemed more interested in the bat that hist incessantly.
“How ironic that our chat always seems to end this way. I’m guessing you have realized my true purpose in seeking an audience and as usual, you chose to speak with your fist. Very well, I’ll show you why it will be mutually beneficial…”
Xeeno remained calm as he looked within the skies while multiple deva demons descended. The bat he had on his shoulders hist as it disembarked oddly to the ground as inscriptions slowly covered it. With its wings on the ground, purple qi engulfed it as popping sounds could be heard.
It bellowed to the sky as a transformation took place. It’s charcoal black body slowly became robust at it continuously grew. Before long it was twice the size of a Deva demon.
“So shall we dance?” Xeeno uttered playfully seeing the end of his pet’s transformation. Its ginormous wings flapped as it launched itself into the incoming deva demons seeking to rip them to bits.
