The Gods Decree - Chapter 199 Turf Wars
Startled by Taf’s sudden outburst May plunged beneath the violent waves as she momentarily lapsed in concentration.
“Really Taf?”
May uttered once more regained her position like a leaf on the high seas. Taf could only wryly smile casually putting his hands behind his head.
“You scoff but that was a significant part of the training. One must never become easily distracted. You’re in the midst of a storm yet a sudden outburst has startled you. Let this be a lesson for the future.”
He responded as though it was intentionally done in a means to further May’s training. She could only chuckle knowing what he spouted was all lie. She then uttered with satire in her voice,
“Do you ever listen to yourself, sir?”
“Sometimes far too much.” Taf awkwardly coughed as he curiously observed May who had one more regain the lotus stance.
“How far off are you from arriving at the goal?”
He asked while stretching. Sensing his intrigue May looked internally assessing her qi flow internal. There were still signs it was volatile, obviously, she had not made the same progress as Taf.
This could not be helped as he had the advantage of a week’s training under his belt.
She then replied, “If I were to continue my training at this rate I am certain I will arrive at that point within a few days.”
It was quite satisfying seeing the strides being made by May. Throughout the weeks they had been training, a determined drive was exuded by her presence as she continuously pushed herself.
Cultivating sometime could be boring but having someone with May traits made it quite bearable.
With a smile, Taf replied, “That’s great.”
Still, he stretched and yawned as his eyes showed obvious signs of fatigue. In the last few weeks, he has had hardly slept. Mostly his mind focused on stabilizing his previously unstable qi.
Now that this was accomplished somewhat his body finally showed signs of fatigue.
” Go get some sleep. When I’m through I’ll wake you.” May urged seeing his current state. At this point, it seemed he had actually overexerted himself. Though Taf persisted that he was fine May insistence did finally yield dividends. He realized Maybe he would become a distraction, therefore, giving in to her request.
A few days had passed and Taf could be seen making his way into an open range fully rested and rejuvenated. This was reserved for training of the squads of three stars ranking.
On his wrist was a bronze bracelet. This was the bracelet previously given by Old Perth as assurance that there would be no funny business on his part. Obviously his previous exploits did not make him so trustworthy.
To Taf’s surprise, this did come in handy with his training as now with his battle strength limited the boundaries of his improvements could be tested. Currently, he was in a good mood as he finally had scanned through the space rings of both Marco and Benzalo.
Within both, he found Ten Million Qi Stone, a few armaments, and the Arts used in their previous exploits in Starlight City. Therefore currently he was a very rich man having an accumulated wealth of approximately sixteen million in qi stone.
Yet he became puzzled as with this increase in wealth, what should they spend it on?
As he pondered with his mind casually walking with his hands held behind his head, something became evident about his surrounding.
All who saw him tactfully ensure not to be within ten feet of his person after seeing what was embroidered on the back of his sleeveless shirt.
Over the past few weeks, there have been shocking news of a new arrival to the sect. He wore dreadlocks with some saying he could be no more than fifteen which created great intrigue after his exploits.
It is said he had pulverized the number 120th and 121st Barkers brothers. The two though known for their overbearing nature warranted it with their strength. Yet rumors highlighted how effortlessly they were defeated.
When asked about his personality all were told of a weird quirk of his whereby he referred to himself as Sir Mouse. Excited about this seemingly monstrous talent there were those who sought to dig into the past of this alleged Sir Mouse.
What they found sent even more shock waves throughout the sect. Apparently, this Sir Mouse was the perpetrator behind the ringing of the bells two months prior which had caused a huge ruckus on that day.
The more they dug it dawned on all that this youth was a troublemaking menace and wasn’t averse to nearly crippling his opponents.
He even went so far as to write in blood a threat to all the disciples within the sect. This guy was evidently a psychopath who saw no one worthy in his eyes.
The Dark Abylis Sect was filled with geniuses who saw themselves as a holy child. His action was that of basically spitting on the name of all though who saw themselves in this. Which meant significant ramifications from Sir Mouse’s action.
It then made sense as to his fellow disciples acting as they did. Some avoided out of fear of his personality traits. Who knew when he might snap? While others did not wish to be associated with him, leading to becoming caught in the crossfire.
Taf knew the reasons for their behavior and felt even better as he walk. This suited him quite well at least it limited the idiots that would stir trouble. Perhaps it had the opposite effect and he has drawn even more to fold.
‘I’ll add this all to my training.’
Though Mr popular had entered the training area not many were aware of his presence.
This was understandable as there was only a week left until the annual sect tournament began.
This led to most squads flooding the multiple training areas in hopes of getting a slight advantage over their future rivals. Usually, this would not be a problem as squads were out on missions which made the area almost always vacant.
Sadly the training areas were now too congested which meant not all individuals were able to fine-tune their techniques before the tournament began.
This, of course, caused conflict. Who now had the right to training? No one would willingly leave. Therefore strength and reputation became key in ascertaining any form of training.
Soon Taf saw the persons that warranted this slight journey of his. They were all his previous comrades from his time in Starlight City. The member of quad Malgrey, Malnor, Ava, and Selena. Excepting for May who at the moment was resting from her successful training.
It appeared that the experience had formed a bond between the groups who prior would have no involvement with each other.
“Get lost weaklings!”
A slender man uttered in annoyance even when seeing Selena and Ava’s is ignited.”
This area is reserved for Three-Star ranked teams. Your squad is of the fourth which makes you ineligible Doan! Others might fear you but we certainly don’t.” Selena shouted in an enraged state.
They previously had arrived and started their training when this fourth-star rank squad suddenly made an appearance. With their status, they intimidated the numerous squads into cowering into submission but for a few.
The other onlooking third ranks squads could only shake their heads as they knew these sisters were a hot-headed battle enthusiast, but still, these two were insane daring to go against the wishes of a fourth-ranked squad.
There were not many squads of their nature and close to the elites in terms of status. All four-star ranked squad members were ranked within the top one hundred of genius, therefore, their strength was evident compared to all within the area.
“Woman do not test my patience? You have quite a beautiful face. I’ll hate the turn it into the same state as your elder sister’s.”
Everyone knew within the sect that there was one rule when engaged in a war of word with Selena. Never mention her sister’s scars as a murderous rampage will ensue.
True to form a frosty chilling stare was seen on Selena’s face as she drew her two short swords ready to cleave Doan in two halves.
‘You fucking bastard!’ She yelled yet Doan remained calm with a smile while avoiding her lightning-quick slashing.
“That will do. Such between yet tainted” A mellow voice was heard going from the field where the other members of Doan’s squad congregated.
All eyes looked in the direction of the voice where there was a man who sat underneath a tree with his eyes closed. His hair was jet black, long hanging to his shoulders. He seemed perfectly kept without a hair out of place, even his trousers were pressed with sharp seams.
His voice brought absolute silence and even Selena regained her composure. This was a man who warranted respect wherever he went.
He was Dawson number 51 on the rankings. Barely outside of the top fifty who all were guaranteed apprenticeship under a sect elder. It is rumored he is close to being a half step Lord realm.
With the blowing of the winds, a sweet perfume scent could be smelt…
