The Gods Decree - Chapter 205 Anecdotes Of Wingman Theology 1
They all stared at Taf a bit fidgety in decided whether or not to bet against this fellow.
Still, even he surely slips from time to and better yet this was not solely within his control.
Soon Ava did something she hasn’t done in a long time smiling quite happily while resting her hand underneath her chin,
“You are quite the manipulator aren’t you? You know we would surely second guess any thoughts of besting you. Even in a bet with stakes as ludicrous as this one. I call your bluff and I am all in.”
She stated confidently while subconsciously counting her winnings within her mind.
Even with her utterance Taf still kept a calm composed demeanor that truly irritated her. For once could he play the role of a junior?
Still, her words seemingly jolted the others into action. Malnor too smirked as he patted Taf’s shoulder,
“Time and time again you surprise me young brother Taf. Before I would say it’s foolish to doubt you. Yet I have seen you bleed so I assume you are human similar to the rest of us.
We, humans, are viable to errors in judgment. This time brother I apologize as there is definitely a need to advantage, I too am in.”
With a confident smile, Taf responded,
“Brother we must all do what needs to be done.”
His words startled Malnor for a second but he refused to once more be manipulated by this fellow. He knew far too well his work from past experience.
“If you were to accomplish this feat I assure you Niesha will not be the only one in competition with May for that heart of yours.”
Selena uttered with a flirtatious smile ignoring the hateful stare being given by Niesha.
After Selena’s words, the voice of a young teenage girl could be heard with a bit of satire. She was dressed in a purple top with a black skirt. There was something peculiar about her appearance though as she had hair of silver cascading down to her shoulder.
“What’s this I hear? Hmm, when since has this lady had competition. Sir you have been quite the busy fellow in my absence, I see.”
May spoke while giving Taf the side glance ()
Soon she placed herself right beside Taf giving him a slight pitch to his side.
Oww!
“You knew the risk when falling for this charming fellow.”
Taf shamefully spouted as Niesha and Selena rolled their eyes.
“Your so-called ‘Mr. Charmer’ has finally overplayed his hand and will lose quite the tally. I too am and I am quite looking for to taking your stones.”
Niesha joined the fold evidently seeking a means of revenge against Taf, which he perfectly provided.
Her words aroused May’s curiosity, who wondered what had preceded her joining the table. Of course, this was likely the doing of Taf in some form or the other.
Soon she was given a briefing by Niesha about their current bet. Yet she didn’t seem doubtful that this would be accomplished by Taf. Only chuckling and offering a few words in response.
“Oh, that’s all.” This caused a bit of uncertainty among the group, but then they remembered she was Taf’s biggest accomplice.
With Niesha having stated her stance the three ninth stages looked to the fiery-haired Malgrey. He was a bit hesitant, after the fiasco with Kathy he believed anything could be accomplished by Taf.
Still, a 25k was right there for the taking. How would he feel if he were to forgo such a chance?
“Ok, I’ll take the gamble. I am also in.” He uttered almost with a tinge of reluctance in his voice.
“Since it is settled I’ll be the impartial judge in proceedings. In order to even things out so no party is disadvantaged, there will be two rules.”
May interjected yet with her words it could be said the others were not reassured. These two acted as a team, so how exactly could she be “Impartial?”
They could bet that all the rules would be skewed in Taf’s favor. Yet their jaws nearly dropped to the floor when hearing her terms. They were as follows:
– Taf your status as Sir Mouse cannot be used as an ice breaker or any means to get a favorable opinion.
-Flaunting of wealth also will be deemed Illegal.
Right there and then she took all of Taf’s possible advantages putting him in an even worse position before the bet. They didn’t even think to address these previous matters.
Didn’t she say in a bid to even the playing the field these rules would be implemented?
It was akin to being a swordmaster and then having your sword-wielding arm broken then harshly sent wobbling into battle.
“Seems fair,”
Taf responded and without any form of decorum took his shirt off before summoning another.
The previous shirt was in direct conflict with May’s rules having Sir Mouse on full display for all to see.
“So tell me about this Sheila.” He then once more uttered now donning a plain black shirt.
“Well as you can see she is also a fellow eighth-stage like ‘loverboy’ Lovren. Currently, she is a member of an all-female two-star ranked squad.”
Niesha obliged Taf’s curiosity given him a few general specifics.
He then sought to further dig into Sheila’s background so he furthered his questioning, this time to Lovren. This was probably the best person to provide him with information.
“How about hobbies, elements, weapons, anything specific to her?”
Truthfully Lovren wondered how this would be beneficial but Taf did promise him the impossible so he tried to help as best as he could.
“I have never spoken to her but from what I have gathered her hobbies include reading, and from time to time she walks by her lonesome idly gazing.”
He responded while Taf nodded taking a mental note. Lovren then continued,
“She specializes in the short sword and the element of which I am aware is water.”
The more he spoke Lovren realized there was a possibility the other would see him as a stalker. By the gaze given by Selena and Ava he then received his confirmation.
‘Sigh I really am pathetic.’ He lamented internally still Taf patted him on the back after which saying.
” Great you have given me the desired tools. The only thing required of you is to say these few words. I want you to believe these are your heartfelt thoughts.”
He then wrote on a small piece of parchment before giving it to Lovren. When Lovren saw the words he wondered in what context could he possibly use such statements. He tried asking Taf about its meaning but he refused to respond.
“Now I want to see your best look of contemplation. It must be subtle, yet your eyes must convey one immersed in their thoughts.”
He instructed Lovren. All but May wondered how was this possible to help lovren’s state.
Yet Lovren tried to follow Taf’s instructions to the letter placing his hands on his chin to the delight of all at the table,
“I said contemplation, not bloody constipation.” Taf berated as Lovren made a pooping face more than anything. After a few moments, his face was now to Taf’s liking.
Seeing things how he intended Taf then excused himself from the party of ten making his way across the room. This in itself brought more nervousness than Lovren could have fathomed.
Seated around a table laden with colorful frozen drinks sat four girls chattering along. They too spoke of the happening of the day and this rogue Mouse who suddenly appeared.
Blop!
A clumsy disciple bounced against their table causing one of the drink to spill.
“My new Bonzel dress!”
One of the girls exclaimed as one of the frozen drink spilled on her dress.
“I’m sorry.., I’m sorry. I…I. Just got a bit distracted.” The disciple hurriedly apologized with evident timidness in his diction.
“How do you miss a table? There is visible space for passerby. You’re paying me back if it is the last thing you do!”
The girl stumped off. making her way off to the lavatories in a puff of rage.
“I really did it, did I?
Please give the lady my sincerest of apologies. I am not well off but I am a man that was raised well so here is a pouch with a bit of my saving.
Judging by the exquisite design of her dress I assume it’s custom.”
With humbleness in his voice, Taf addressed the three who watched their squad captain rush off.
“We all make mistakes. It’s understandable.”
One of the females responded taking the pouch on her captain’s behalf while the disciple could only wryly smile.
By the expression displayed on his face, it could be seen what a tremendous loss this truly was for him.
” Before you stated being distracted. Was it someone chasing you?”
Another of the three curiously questioned as this was one of the only plausibly reason as to why any seemingly normal person would slam into a table.
“Well it’s kind of embarrassing.., I don’t know if I should say.” With a bit of hesitancy in his voice, the disciple responded.
