The Gods Decree - Chapter 213 The Dawn Precious
Within his well-lit manor, Darwin sat seemingly unwinding while being fed some grapes. To his side, Laura sexily dressed in revealing unmentionables snuggled next to him.
“Well done my little previous. I knew my faith could be placed in you. Hopefully, you didn’t make the fellow burst a blood vessel before his time.”
Darwin somewhat chuckled remember the face of the one who dared to make a mockery while in his presence.
Did he really think there would no retribution when going against a superior being? He then continued his monologue,
“At this moment I suspect the poison is about to show its true face. How I wish I could have seen the look in his eyes when realizing his demise. Dying in a pool of his own vomit.”
he squeezed Laura’s cheeks as she bit her lips before replying with infatuation in her eyes,
“I would do anything for you, my love. Do you want the stars? I’ll gladly go and fetch them. I give my every being to you and you alone.”
With her words, Darwin wore an egocentric smirk. He offered no reply as Laura became a bit apprehensive. She then meekly questioned,
” Have I finally shown my worth?” To which Darwin replied with a few of his own wearing a cold expression,
“Have you…?!
Where is my delicate flower with freckles which I specifically ordered you to fetch two months prior?
Is she hiding under a cushion or something cause I don’t fucking see her?”
” I really tried my hardest to find her. I’ve apologized countless times. It is as though she escaped in this air and after your previous actions the ones who could give information are all mortified into shock.”
Laura unlike her previous self with Taf was a seemingly different person now. So unassured of herself lacking any sort of confidence.
She then tried to nestle up against Darwin but in response, all he did was push her aside responding dismissively,
“I’m not in the mood. Get me my Lisa to whet my appetite. Then perhaps I’ll become ‘inspired’.”
His words were like fine needle pricking at Laura’s spine.
She felt scorned and when looking in his eyes could tell there was no difference between her than a hairy boar.
The countless times she has done his bidding dragging her self down to the lowly swamps in order to fetch someone that he might deem worthy. What was it all for?
She knew his perversion and the countless young lives destroyed by her choice.
Yet she did it anyway in hopes that perhaps he would come to know the person willing to fulfill all his desire lied before him.
Now she knew the heartwrenching truth. The moment she lost her innocence all she represented was a tainted and undesirable person in his mind.
She then spoke out loud her feelings to Darwin who uncaringly walked away,
“I love you…, and I hate myself because of that. I’ve been your enabler fueling that sick mind of yours. Thinking someday I might save you from yourself. Now I realize it might be easier to…”
In mid-sentence Laura suddenly started coughing which caused Darwin to respond,
“Will you spare me the mellow dramatics. We have had this same conversation over and over again. Yet here we are.” After speaking Darwin waited for a response but couldn’t hear one from her.
When he looked around he couldn’t see Laura which he found strange. Until he heard a sick gurgled sound and saw her legs hanging out behind a piece of furniture twitch…
ECCHHH ACCHHH!
When he rushed to see the reason behind it all he saw Laura rolling on the ground choking.
Her brown eyes became red while green veins became apparent under her skin. They ran from her head to toe as she tried to scream in pain. She battered on the ground like a chicken which head was just cut off.
“Precious!”
He yelled while holding her seizing body. She tried speaking but only red froth spluttered from her lips.
Shortly all Darwin saw was her body finally become limp as in her final moment she sought to touch his face one last time.
There was only silence as he looked on her lifeless corpse. There he sat with her in his embrace as the moments passed. He ran his hand through her hair even tried talking to her but once more all remained was silence.
“You killed her didn’t you?”
He uttered under his breath as he went over all that transpired in his mind. All the clues pointed to one thing, poison.
Somehow Laura had underestimated the bastard. He saw through the rouse causing her to ingest the poison meant for him instead.
With hatred in his, Darwin maniacally laughed,
“Now all is in the open and you know in the end only one of us will remain breathing when the dust settles.
You call yourself a mouse, well I’ll be your exterminator.”
Finally, morning had come and the Dark Abylis Sect was bursting at the seams with expectation. Everyone knew that only one occasion could cause such influx of anxiety. This was the dawn of the sect’s annual tournament.
All arouse out of their beds before even the roaster even had time to rest its head in order to get some sleep.
There was now no need for its crowing as all disciples made their way in the darkness.
The streets were flooded by the thousand as anticipation built. When they looked in the air they saw the forms of souring being through the air.
These they knew were the sect elders ensuring that all their borders were secure. With a big event such as this, it was prime time for an enemy to catch them unaware.
Therefore precaution was of utmost importance. Soon the disciple found something odd had occurred differing from the previous years.
Usually, they would be ushered to the center of the sect which housed a grand area. Yet now they were being told to gather at the rear of the sect.
All that lied behind the sect was a wild forest, this was unattached from Braveman’s Graveyard, and with it being devoid of beast qi there were no demon beast of worth within. Perhaps a few lower-levels but nothing of real threat to the disciples.
The question then became why were they asked to gather at a place such as this?
