The Gods Decree - Chapter 220 Overkill
Swish! Swish!
Under the midnight sky, there were hurried footsteps nibbly moving from one tree limb to the next.
With haste, a small group held nothing back as time was of the essence. To the front of the pack was a man who took on the mantle of leadership.
He was a slender fellow with a battle-ax placed on his back. Following him were four others of which three were females and one male.
This was the newly formed squad Malgrey who thankfully through the quick actions of Cameron was alerted to the presence of Eto’o, his men, and the Barker brothers.
They ensured to make haste. It was a certainty collectively as a group they were no match for their pursuers. The ranking was the perfect measuring tool confirming this point. Yet they knew this could not persist.
“Those bastards!”
Ava yelled angrily. It was clear to them all, this all due to Taf’s previous conflict with the Barker Brothers.
They were merely being chased because of their association with Taf. Yet truthfully as much as Ava wanted to give Taf a piece of her mind.
She knew he was not the main instigator behind it all. Still, Ava wouldn’t mind telling him a few choice words at the moment. He was definitely not absolved of all the blame.
While they ran for their lives, he was probably curled up in his bed snoring. Soon she heard Malgrey’s voice,
“Sooner or later they will catch up. We need to formulate a plan.”
Though Malgrey was never known as the strongest. One thing that could be said was he was always calm under pressure.
Even more so after the events of Starlight City. Perhaps this could be said for all five sprinting. It was a true baptism of fire as their eyes became open to true strength.
If it was three months prior and the same scenario of Eto’o gang chasing. Perhaps they might have long lost their composure.
Yet after being in direct conflict with two lords. Eto’o and his men weren’t as indomitable as they might think themselves.
Sigh!
Malnor knew Malgrey was right. They needed to plan their next move. Carelessly fleeing like headless chickens risked running into other enemies.
After all, the forest was filled with rivals amidst cleverly placed traps. At the moment they were simply placing themselves in further danger.
“You’re right Malgrey. I say we make a stand.”
He uttered as they continued to speedily make their way through the forest. Still, they ensured to look out for any enemies that might pounce from the dark.
“How do you propose we do that?
They each are above our weight class and you are forgetting they have the advantage of the extra man.” Ava spoke outright the glaring flaw in Malnor’s plan.
“I offered a planned but what do you bring to the table? It’s our only option, or would rather bicker with them to death?”
Annoyed Malnor responded in kind. As the two went back and forth they heard a voice which had remained quiet,
“I’m sorry I haven’t been forthright with you all,” Neisha uttered.
Her words when heard came off as vague. Why was there a need for her to apologize?
“You’re going to embarrass me now, aren’t you?”
The fiery-haired Malgrey laughed which was quite puzzling to Ava, Malnor, and Selena.
What did he mean by this?
Neisha could only smile when she heard Malgrey’s word. He was one of her closest confidants.
When they came to a plain with less forestry, Niesha then suddenly stopped. This was Ludacris considering the situation they now found themselves.
However when Selena was about to help Niesha along-
“Don’t worry about it. She has simply rearranged her priorities for a bit.”
Malgrey gestured there was no need so Selena halted.
“Malgrey what going on? What is Niesha attempting to accomplish.” Malnor inquired.
They had no time for breaks. Now they needed to decide how they would battle their foes. At this moment a trap would be expected by Eto’o and his men so it certainly would not work.
“Just relax. This will be an eye-opener.”
Malgrey with a smile calmly responded. Seeing how confident he was Ava and Malnor could only put their trust in him.
The fiery-haired Malgrey was many things, but careless he was not. There they remained crouch on tree limbs. Curiously looking down they saw Niesha under the partially lit moon with the tilt of her broad sword drawing a series of circles.
Each one was larger than the next. They were all contained in one main circle that spanned a radius of 150 meters.
Seeing this Malgrey ushered Ava, Selena, and Malnor to the opposing sides of the reach.
This only added to the intrigue as they saw Niesha then place herself with the nucleus of the series of dirt drawn circle.
There she patiently remained as the midnight moon illuminated her and that big broad shiny sword which was placed on her back.
Ask a Hunter in his life what brought him the most joy. He would perhaps reply while looking at his loving wife,
“There many things yet none compares to one. When my prey is within sights and my heart races. In this brief moment, I am king, I am god reigning supreme.
Life is within my hands and I can take it at will. This gives me invigorating ecstasy, a gratification that cannot be matched.[1]”
This was true for Eto’o and his men chasing their prey. With each step gained there was an overwhelming thrill.
It provided this same feeling of delight as their prey flee for all they were worth. Here was one of the perks of the strong, and they enjoyed it wholeheartedly.
Of the group, there were none more anxious than the twins who salivated at the thought of repaying a debt owed.
That little bastard took something from them which they will never regain.
Yet they will take pleasure in gaining vengeance on anything he deemed his. If he claimed the world, they would make it their mission to burn it to its core.
Soon all six saw an open area without the plethora of trees which were quite advantageous if one were to seek a means to camouflage.
Within its center stood a girl with a broad sword on her back.
This was quite peculiar, however, when they assessed her and compared it to the data of what they had gathered about squad Malgrey.
This young woman was the one called Niesha. The vice-captain of the squad.
Still, they were no fools. So they hurriedly assessed the area for any seeming trap.
They didn’t think it possible this was girl was the only one of the five remaining. That meant the others were hiding waiting to lay siege.
“Pity I expected more from three fellow squad captains.” Eto’o smiled as he observed Niesha. Soon his eyes shifted to a blind spot in the distance behind her.
“I see.., you.”
He teased as his squad hurriedly spread out. With his hands, he then pointed to a location gesturing for them to stay focused on any movements.
Though he might be an arrogant fellow. Eto’o was not one to give his opponents the upper-hand. No matter how weak they might be deemed he took all the necessary precautions,
Still, there was no movement whatsoever from the other four. Seeing this the Barkers twins had enough. Both drew their long sabers from their backs. Since these scoundrels wanted to play games why not oblige them?
They cared not one bit that Niesha was a woman. She would get the same vengeance as any male who dared to be insolent before their presence. It seems this squad was a breeding ground for such persons.
Seeing a massive rock close by one of the twin’s muscles bulged as he threw it.
BOOM!
It landed right in front of Niesha creating a massive crack in the ground. Noticing this the brothers smirked.
It appears this was all a decoy for the others to plot. Seems this Niesha was a sacrificial lamb for the better good.
This being the case they would gladly oblige Malnor and his men. Viewing all of this was Eto’o. He watched all that unfolded but made no attempts to stop the twins this time around.
He knew the main threat came from those who remained in the shadows.
“Blame this all on that little fucker!” Aiden viciously spouted as he referred to Taf while unsheathing his blade.
Still, Niesha paid the two no heed as they made their way over. This whole time her eyes remained closed.
The twins were uncaring of this as they viciously launched themselves with their qis ignited.
Aiden’s saber blazed in torrent flames that illuminated the night. While Caden’s was coated in water that slowly froze the ground below him.
Seemingly they were well versed anticipating each movement of the other as though synchronized. They attacked without leaving any weak spots.
Finally, Niesha opened her eyes.
“You’re the ones that attempted to rid Cameron of his legs?” She questioned. To this, the twins laughed replying,
“So what bitch? Yes, we did and since we couldn’t take his, you will do perfectly.” Though their words were vulgar, to this Niesha offered no returned.
Within seconds the twins had made it further into the series of circular drawings. Though noticing these renderings they cared not one bit.
Why should a lion care for the plots of a mouse?
Finally, they were in striking distance of Niesha as black hair blew with the wind. She casually flicked her hair before holding the handle of her broad swords.
Way of the sword -( Wind Element) Devouring Tempest
She then tilted the handle-
BOOOM!
A cyclone of wind suddenly engulfed everything within a one hundred and fifty-meter radius. Even the brothers were startled to find themselves unable to elude her technique.
Swish! Swish!
The wind suddenly calmed with Niesha remaining in her previous stance however this time her broad sword was outstretched.
Its blade was soaked in a red viscous liquid. She then casually flashed the sword shedding the blade of its impurities.
When all eyes looked at the twins it was a morbid sight. Their feet still remained standing, while their bodies clattered to the cold hard night floors.
Blood spewed like a fountain dying the ground in its red splendor….
AWE!
AWE!
You…., bitch!
The two screamed when looking down at their limbless bodies.
Niesha then crouched down saying,
“There is a reason your prey isn’t here. Simply with me around it would simply be overkill!”
