The Grandbell Legacy - Chapter 29 Mariotte 3
Within a VIP room of the Mariotte, scantily clad women danced under the dim lights before a group of burly, tattooed men.
At the center of it all was a blond young man with sharp blue eyes, dressed in black jeans and an unbuttoned shirt that showed off his ripped torso.
for visiting.
A tattoo of a grizzly bear wrapped around him fiercely, only interrupted by the expensive gold chain the hung from his neck.
Everything about his young man exuded a confidence and strength that even made the burly men around him cower in respect. However, that was only in serious situations. Normally, they were much more of a family.
“Did you do what I asked you to do?” The young man all but ignored the dancers before him, by now, he had long been desensitized to pretty women. Unless you were the Helen of Troy of your own city, he wouldn’t blink an eyelash.
“It was done yesterday, Young Bear. We even added a little surprise for you too.” One of the burly men laughed lewdly, slapping the ass of the dancer closest to him before sniffing his hand.
The young man’s expression darkened. “What did I say about doing things outside the scope of my commands.”
“Haha, don’t worry. You’ll definitely thank me for this one.” The burly man stupidly grinned, continuing with a thick Russian accent. “We also ransacked that Kazimir’s office. We’ll see how long he dares to be arrogant. That time, we followed your orders perfectly. Only touched the inside but didn’t leave any clues outside. The building looks completely untouched.”
Suddenly, there was a knock at the door that made the young man’s cold blue eyes light up. He stood up hurriedly, shooing the dancers out the regulation second exit and warning the burly men with his eyes to behave.
Seeing their young boss acting so flustered, the burly men couldn’t help but snicker silently. But, they obediently toned down their attitudes.
However, when the person who walked in wasn’t the expected dainty beauty, but rather a handsome, sharply dressed young man, their light atmosphere gave way to a frigid air.
Of course, the young man who walked in was Ci-ci. Despite having half a dozen or so men staring at him with murderous intent, he didn’t seem fazed, instead waving away the two attendants who brought him here while tipping them handsomely.
Before they could even react, the door had clicked shut, leaving Ci-ci standing before it.
“Abram Latka, I presume?” Ci-ci scanned the room before allowing his eyes to land on the half shirtless young man.
Abram’s cold blue eyes narrowed. “Who are you?”
“Ha!” Ci-ci genuinely laughed. Normally, as long as anyone focused on him for enough, they’d know who he was. This was truly a rare occasion. “Since you’ve asked, I’ll tell you. My name is Ci-ci Bell.”
**
In a dingy apartment located in East Algood City, a beauty lied passed out on a couch that had seen far better days.
Her leg hung out from one side as she snored loudly, absentmindedly rubbing her toned belly.
She slept half naked, with her proud chest standing firm. But, her worn out, pink bunny, dollar store panties ruined the fantasy any able-bodied man might have seeing this scene.
The apartment studio itself was a complete mess of half eaten takeout and finished cans of beer. On first inspection, it looked for more reminiscent of a bachelor’s home than a young lady’s. But, this was the reality of it all.
Suddenly, a phone rang out with a loud and obnoxious ring tone, startling the young beauty awake.
“Ah Goddamit” The beauty almost fell off the couch reaching for her phone. Fortunately, it seemed she could only afford this shitty apartment because she spent all her income on her phone. But, there was no helping it, she needed it for her job.
“What is it? I just got home.” The beauty spoke groggily, clearly not happy.
“We’ve got a big one.” An old man’s voice came from the other side. “Under normal circumstances, I would never send you, but you’re the only one who lives close enough to make it in time before those other hounds make it.”
“What’s going on?” The beauty’s fatigue began to fade, immediately realizing just how important this was. In her line of business, it was difficult to take a step up. Opportunities like this one were rare.
“Wake up. Look at you, it’s only 8pm and you’re already knocked out. What kind of field journalist isn’t up all night!”
The beauty rolled her eyes, happy that she wasn’t at the office for the old man to see her like this.
“Don’t you roll your eyes at me!”
“I ” The beauty sighed, not bothering.
‘You were just telling me how important time was for this, now you’re the one wasting time.’ The beauty thought this, but didn’t dare to say it aloud.
After a few more wasted seconds of berating the beauty about how to treat her superiors, the old voice finally calmed down. “If you want the first exclusive interview with Ci-ci Bell since his disappearance, get your ass down to the Mariotte!”
When she finally got the information she needed, the beauty’s eyes brightened, closing her phone before the old man could spew anymore nonsense.
She sprinted upward, her proud peaks bouncing as she bounded across the room to the only half decently cleaned portion of her studio apartment to pick out her clothes.
The beauty lifted up her arms, sniffing her arm pits deeply. “Ah, whatever, good enough.”
In 30 seconds flat, she was out the door.
