The Grandbell Legacy - Chapter 30 Mariotte 4
“Ci-ci Bell?” Abram frowned before a sudden realization came over him, causing his eyes to narrow. “Why are you here?”
Ci-ci strolled forward, lazily reclining into an untouched couch. “You broke into my leader’s apartment and ransacked my place of work, why wouldn’t I be here?”
“Broke into?…” Abram’s gaze shifted toward the burly man who was telling him about a “surprise” he had for him earlier.
The burly man turned, pretending not to notice Abram’s questioning look at all.
“I’ll deal with you later.” Abram also went back to his seat before turning toward Ci-ci. “What do you want?”
With the anticipation of Milana possibly coming gone, Abram had sunk back into his usual demeanor.
He couldn’t help but sneer inwardly. A mere inventor wanted to apply pressure on him? They lived with their life on the line every day, they were the soldiers of the streets, wasn’t this man afraid that he’d die without a corpse coming here?
However, when Abram trained a sharp eye on Ci-ci, he immediately felt that this man wasn’t so simple. Although his subordinates might not feel it, he was being groomed to be the next leader of their gang, his senses were far sharper than normal, and his demeanor wasn’t any inferior to a young man from a prominent family.
‘He smells like he has power.’ Abram thought.
Despite Ci-ci’s leisurely expression, he was also quite serious inwardly. The imposing aura of The Russians definitely wasn’t just for show.
“What else could I want if not an explanation?” Ci-ci said with a smile. “I’d like to know why you think my Petrov Technologies is easy to bully and why it is that you’re so shameless as to pursue a woman in a relationship? Even to the point of placing cameras in her home?”
The longer Ci-ci spoke, the fiercer his voice and anger became. In the end, he threw out eight broken devices, allowing them to fall to the floor and land at Abram’s feet.
Ci-ci didn’t miss the stunned look on Abram’s face, but just because Abram wasn’t aware of what happened, doesn’t mean Ci-ci would let it go so easily.
Under normal circumstances, it was quite a leap for Ci-ci to assume that the same group that attacked Petrov Technologies was the very same one that invaded Milana’s privacy. However, he had done a lot of research before he landed on Petrov Technologies as his destination. He was quite aware of the dealings Kazimir had and was also aware that one of the pillar families of The Russians was the Latka family.
After knowing that, the rest was obvious.
Abram’s expression turned from surprised to cold indifference. Even if one of his men made a mistake, it wasn’t Ci-ci’s place to reprimand them. The prestige of their gang should never be questioned.
“And what are you going to do about it?” Abram sneered.
Ci-ci laughed. “Did you think that because your little gang can run wild in a small city like this one that you had the right to puff your chests out? The true crime families don’t strut around stealing candy from babies. Your Latka family is so scared of consequences that you don’t even dare to leave your mark clearly for the world to see. I really want to know what gives you such confidence.”
There was not a single word Ci-ci spoke that was false. Why was it that he and Milana couldn’t tell that anything was out of the ordinary until they walked into Petrov Technologies? It was because this supposed gang didn’t dare to leave any signs of their break-in for the outside world to see.
“I see.” Abram’s response was surprisingly calm, a striking contrast to the volcanic eruption of emotions his men underwent. “You believe that my family is weak for such pseudo intellectual reasonings. The legend of Ci-ci Bell really doesn’t live up to its hype.”
Despite his response, Ci-ci wasn’t angered. Just then, Abram’s accent had slightly slipped into its Russian roots.
For this to happen, it was clear that Abram lost control of himself for an instant. No matter how he covered it up, Ci-ci’s attention to detail was too sharp.
Ci-ci stood. “Consider this a warning. If you dare to mess with my business or my leader again, I won’t be meeting you with such friendly ambiance. I’ll storm into your territory and cut you off from the source.”
for visiting.
With those final words, Ci-ci left.
The room descended into silence. The burly men knew that their Young Bear was angered, so they didn’t dare to speak.
The title Young Bear wasn’t something given so easily. Although they were called The Russians, they only controlled a corner of The Ghettos. However, their young heir still earned this prominent title, a matter of pride for the Latka family.
Young Bear, Young Wolf, Young Eagle, Young Shark, and Young Lion. There were so many members of their younger generation, yet only five titles. There was a reason Abram Latka had one of them.
“Go break his arms and legs.” Abram finally spoke. “Does he believe that he can come and go as he pleases? The Latka family isn’t so soft. Don’t worry about the manager, we’ve long since pocketed this branch.”

On his way out, Ci-ci was oblivious to this order, but it was a toss up as to whether or not he’d care if he did know because right now, he was met with a completely new headache.
Outside the Mariotte, a crowd of bustling and jostling reporters stood with blinding and flashing cameras.
The worst part? The doors were glass and they had already spotted him.
