The Greatest Sinner - Chapter 267
“Evan, the sixth demon of the Seven Princes of Hell, is Mammon, and he is matched with the sin that is Greed. Though unusual, you have one spell from the Mammon Chronicle. What’s more, you can use your spells even though you haven’t reached the Two-Pointed Star stage. That’s further proof that it’s more important to have a special body constitution than anything else to use these spells.
<He’s right, I didn’t even notice that I could cast Lucifer’s Shackles and Mammon’s Gaze when I was One-Pointed Star. Hmm, but I didn’t find any grimoire. At one point, a strange space with Pillars and strange creatures appeared in my mind. They were the ones who gave me these spells.> Evan thought.
“When you use the Chronicle of Mammon, you feel a strong sense of Greed. If you succumb to it, you can miss a deadly attack or fall into a trap. But, in return, you get improved vision and reflexes. What’s more, some spells elevate your vision to a whole other level.. Given your golden eye, your spell is exactly that.” Rave said calmly.
Evan nodded. He had already gotten an increase in his physical strength, vision, and reflexes when he received the Pillar. But, when he used the spells, these effects were amplified.
“The last, seventh demon of the Seven Princes of Hell is, you guessed it, Lucifer, and he corresponds to Sin – Pride. It’s a dangerous power that can turn you into an overconfident fool who dies because of some stupidity. When you use the Lucifer Chronicles, your physical characteristics increase several times. But, you already figured that out.”
“Yes, I have a question. Do you know which of these demons is the strongest? Is there a clear hierarchy among the Seven Princes of Hell?”
Rave pondered, “There is no clear definition, but from the information we have, some demons do stand above others. The strongest is Lucifer, then Satan, followed by Beelzebub, but there’s no hierarchy beyond that. Moreover, each of these demons is incredibly strong. It all depends on the magician and his talent. Also, do not forget that there are also many other demons besides the main ‘seven’ in Seven Princes of Hell, and I can not say that they are weaker. They all have their differences.” Rave explained in detail.
<Hmm, each demon represents a sin. The black lion and the giant rat with the golden eyes represent the sin of Pride and the sin of Greed. Maybe they have something to do with the Seven Princes of Hell.> Evan thought.
He thought he had somehow gained the ability to acquire the unique spells of the Seven Princes of Hell. But, he had to go his way to discover them, because originally there was no rat in dark space, it came later under certain conditions.
<When I had both demonic and divine energy in my body at the same time, my body overloaded, and I died. But when my Warp cleared up, everything came back to normal. Is it possible that I got a special body constitution, or did I have it originally, and that’s why I was able to survive?>
“Rave, you said that you don’t know of anyone who could endure having demonic and divine energy in their body. But, how can you be so sure?”
Evan didn’t understand how it was possible to verify the existence of such a body constitution. After all, if one did not have the right body constitution, one would die.
“It’s simple. We stole a few spells from light organizations that have divine energy in them. Then we turned those spells into spell scrolls so that they could be used without even studying them. Of course, this only worked with the weakest spells, and the process is quite long, but the most important thing was to get the divine energy.”
“And then what?”
“We cut off the arm and put the scroll in the palm of our hand, then we destroy the mana crystal, and thus the severed arm uses the spell with divine energy. Sure, it hurts, but it can take a few days at most to restore the hand. If the hand explodes, it means that the person can’t handle the presence of the two energies in their body. More than 80 percent of Demonic Tree members have done it, but no one’s arm is intact. That’s all.” Rave said calmly.
“Not the easiest system. Have you tried doing the same thing with ordinary people?” Evan asked. He was curious about the results of such an unusual experiment.
“With ordinary people? Of course not, they can’t use spells, even if you forcibly activate a spell scroll, their body would burst from demonic or divine energy. You have to be a mage to withstand the presence of one type of energy in your body. There’s no point in even trying to turn something like that. Well, we decided that after more than ten thousand people died during this experiment.” Rave said slowly.
“Then, you tested it on other mages, am I right?”
“Yes, but it’s quite a time-consuming process. You have to add a demonic energy spell to the formula, and that’s unnecessary waste. Nevertheless, we have tested about a thousand mages for compatibility with demonic and divine energy. You must realize that no one but you can use demon spells without reaching the Two-Pointed Star stage. That means that we’ve killed over a thousand mages at this stage for this experiment. We decided there was no point in going any further. It was too costly and complicated a process for an experiment without results.”
“I see, Rave, you wanted to ask me something,” Evan said calmly.
“Yes, but before I do, I should warn you. I brought you here and told you about the Seven Princes of Hell because you are a unique case and soon to be part of our organization. You can already do that if you go where you are told. I know about all the promising newcomers, and considering that you found Demonic Tree members yourself, you are very interested in joining us. But, you must understand one thing. If you betray us, your life will not be long.” Rave said coldly.
Evan nodded. He understood that Rave was right and absolutely serious.
