The Guardians’ Throne – The First Magic Swordsman - Chapter 480
While seeing her mother in a weakened state, Milliendra wanted to hear her voice at least once, but the spell used by the demon god didn’t grant her that opportunity. Still, she forgot her confusion for a moment and was only thankful for that chance… her father or Zaos seemed like a good friend to her mother, but in the end, he ended up making a regretful face and then drew his sword. Milliendra didn’t want to believe that Zaos would indeed kill his mother and that Aleni would just watch. In the end, that indeed happened… Zaos cut her wrists while he was biting his lips in exasperation. It didn’t look like he did something he liked, but he did it anyway…
Soon after, Milliendra saw Zaos taking her from her cradle and then left the castle after killing many royal guards… that person didn’t look like the man she called daddy so many times and always looked so happy when he was with her. It seemed like another person…
Milliendra also noticed that Zaos could use his left arm, and that was something that he didn’t remember him using a lot… he only used to hug or carry her. Those thoughts disappeared from her mind when Drannor appeared, and then those two fought. Zaos defeated him, but for some reason, he left Drannor alive…
Milliendra thought that she would see more memories of Zaos doing evil things, but that didn’t happen. She returned to reality, and her mind was full of doubts. Could it be that she lived a fake life with the murderer of his mother’s? Noemi and Drannor said many things about Zaos, and while she didn’t believe in the bad things, she was beginning to think that they were true…
“Did you see Milliendra? The ones who you thought were your family are just the worst criminals in the world. They acted like they were the best friends of your birth mother and father, but they betrayed them in the end. Everything to obtain your power… the power to change this world into something better. This world has no meaning, only you can turn it into something better… with all your mind and heart to bring me back to life, and I will do that for you…”
Milliendra’s head began to hurt while the memories that were shown to her were trying to take over the place of all others where Zaos and Aleni played and looked after her. She couldn’t understand many things, but while several things didn’t make any sense, she could tell that she hadn’t seen any illusion. If only Milliendra could have heard her mother’s voice, she felt like she would be able to understand things better. Why did she have those powers? Why did Zaos and Aleni lie to her? Why did so many people have to die so that she could live?
“Milliendra, don’t let others decide things for you.” A gentle female voice echoed through the area. “Remember everything you have experienced so far… Do you think all of your good memories were lies? Concentrate your mind and forget about his voice.”
“You… are you getting scared now that I am so close to finding you?”
“You will never reach me… you are far too arrogant, and the power that you amassed over the years relied on the pain and suffering of others,” the gentle voice echoed through the area again. “Fueled by dark emotions, you can only achieve so much… I made a mistake bringing you to this world. You saved many lives, but you let your pride control you. You were a hero of your tribe, and you saved this world. Why didn’t you become satisfied with that?”
“Don’t give me that crap! I deserved more than that! You told me to be patient, but those dirty humans that I saved treated me like a monster!”
“You have become far worse than a monster…” the gentle voice echoed through the area again. “Milliendra, if you want to know the truth, focus your mind on the image of your father. Do that, and you will see that what he said is all lies… you have his power so that you can do that.”
Milliendra felt like she was hearing too many voices, and it was like they were splitting her head. That voice didn’t feel like it was the voice of her mother. While that was just a feeling, Milliendra was almost certain of that. Regardless, she decided to follow that voice advice because she didn’t want to be confused anymore.
This time, Milliendra’s eyes were covered by the darkness. Instead of that, her vision just suddenly appeared above a certain ship that was traveling some waters filled with small icebergs. After a while, her eyes approached the ship until she saw many people around a table and a map. She recognized Drannor, Noemi, Zaos, and Aleni there. She thought that they were enemies, but they were just talking normally. Drannor seemed unsatisfied, and Aleni seemed worried, but aside from that…
“Have you found any way to stop the demon god for good?” Drannor asked.
“Only the legendary swords can harm him. We didn’t find anything else in a full month inside the royal library,” Zaos replied.
“But only killing him isn’t enough!” Drannor raised his voice.
“I know that, but once the time comes, I will solve the problem,” Zaos shrugged. “Until then, you just have to stay alive and help me a little bit. After that, you will have the chance to recover the lost time with your daughter.”
“… Suddenly telling her that might cause some issues, no?” Dalyor asked.
“It will be fine. We acted over the years as if Milliendra was made of glass… but she is your granddaughter, and she is very similar to Ameria,” Zaos said. “She is just a kid that has to endure the fate of the world on her shoulders, but she can handle it… let’s make a bet. We will find her, and if the demon god hasn’t been summoned yet… oh, well, who cares? I will trust her and bet that she will hold her own until we find her. What do you say, Drannor? Are you going to bet on your daughter or bet against her? If you make a mistake now, then it will only become apparent why Ameria asked me to protect her… ”
“Shut up… once this is over, you’d better have found a way to seal that bastard away forever,” Drannor said. “Otherwise, my fists won’t be the only thing you will have to watch out for… she is my and Ameria’s daughter, and she will become queen one day.. Of course, she can handle that.”
