The Guardians’ Throne – The First Magic Swordsman - Chapter 489
Elisius finally appeared two hundred meters above them, and Zaos finally could feel his presence… As expected, his mana pool was massive. While Zaos tried to use Appraisal, he didn’t get to see anything. Still, he could sense a mana pool that surpassed his own by dozens of times… a real monster that also had become a master of magic.
Elisius raised his hands, and then they began to emit electricity. It seemed that he took a liking to Zaos’ skill… that was weird. He should have learned something like that pretty easily, given that his memories hadn’t been sealed on his second life. Nevertheless, instead of attacking the one that taunted him, Elisius pointed both arms toward Drannor, and a powerful lightning bolt fell on him, he reacted fast enough to block the attack, but after using Thunder Armor, Zaos approached and blocked the attack.
Just as he had expected, his sword was draining the mana from the attack, but the ratio was extremely low. Not to mention, Zaos was still suffering damage from the sparks that were being emitted by the collision of the spell and the sword.
“Did you really think that your victory would be assured once I showed myself?” Elisius asked. “I will be sure to fry your brain even more… little and weak insect.”
“Don’t copy my words…” Zaos said.
Zaos’ arm began to get numb because the sparks were hitting it, but Drannor approached and made the lightning bolts being drawn to his sword as well. Elisius clicked his tongue in annoyance when he realized that neither of them was actually suffering damage. Without any other choice, he used only one hand to attack them with the lightning bolt and then used the other to create a massive earth block. Zaos had heard of that power, but to think that he could make such a thing out of nowhere… in the blink of an eye, the block became as big as the whale monster. Once Elisius fires that, they won’t have much time to dodge, but at least they will be free from the signing bolt for a short while. Still, Zaos had another idea…
Using the mana he just obtained, Zaos enhanced his greatsword with Earth magic when Elisius fired the block of earth. Drannor prepared to run, but Zaos stopped him… in the last moment, Zaos swung his sword and stroked back the massive block, creating a hole in it. Thanks to that, Zaos and Drannor didn’t suffer any real damage. Still, the impact created massive waves spread across the area, and it even destroyed the place they were standing, so they jumped to another one.
“You are insane if you keep doing that…” Drannor said.
“Shut up,” Zaos said.
Elisius could do many things with magic, so things might become troublesome if he could cast some spell that grants him the power to read minds. So, it would be better if Zaos and Drannor didn’t think too much… Drannor could fight well without using his head. Still, Zaos wanted to plan ahead because he couldn’t imagine themselves winning and making sure that Elysius would be dealt with once for all without a solid plan.
Elisius stopped using lighting bolts and then pointed his Index finger toward Drannor. Immediately, Zaos noticed that he had used Evil Eyes. The movement with the finger had been just a faint… Zaos had used that spell enough to know what happens with the mana of someone under control. Zaos used Cleanse and freed Drannor. While that was helpful, it made him click his tongue in annoyance since that just confirmed that alone, Drannor wouldn’t have any chances against the demon god. As much as that was annoying, Drannor held back his anger and took a deep breath.
Elisius created several Earth spears around Zaos and Drannor and fired them. Zaos didn’t expect that he could attack like that while he was so far away. Still, Zaos blocked most of them with his greatsword and lowered his Posture to dodge the others that were beyond his current position. When he did that, he had a certain idea.
“Jump on my sword,” Zaos said and then enhanced his right arm.
“What?” Drannor frowned since he couldn’t imagine what Zaos was planning.
“We don’t have time, do it now!” Zaos raised his voice.
In the end, Drannor did that, and then Zaos used all his might to send Drannor flying toward Elisius. Still, the enemy and his ally frowned when they saw the speed that Drannor was moving… he was bound to reach the demon god that way. However, he would be completely open, and even if he didn’t get attacked, the fall certainly would be troublesome…
Nevertheless, Elisius didn’t have the chance to dodge since he was preparing for the next attack… in the end, he decided to explode Drannor with a Fireball. Still, before he could do anything, a lightning bolt hit him from below, paralyzing him. Elisius couldn’t move his body freely, but he still could enhance it… in the end, he copied Zaos again. He enhanced his body with earth magic to increase his defenses. Drannor’s sword struck his hit head, and he had planned to split him in half, but he only scratched the face of the demon god before he sent him flying downward.
Thanks to the speed of the fall, Elisius fell on the ocean of blood and created massive waves that covered the whole area. Zaos escaped those by jumping as high as he could, and he still had to help Drannor on his landing. He did so by using earth magic on his sword and increasing its reach. They thought the monsters would use that chance to attack him, but they only saw them moving away.
“Did we get him?” Drannor asked.
“Famous last words…” Zaos said and then sighed when he saw a massive amount of blood erupting in the place Elisius fell.
Naturally, things wouldn’t be that easy….
