The Guardians’ Throne – The First Magic Swordsman - Chapter 491
Elisius’ thunder armor should be faster, but then he noticed that Drannor used the power of his sword to increase his own speed. The amount of blood he had gathered shouldn’t be enough to increase his speed that much. Still, then Elisius finally realized that Zaos looked pale and his hands were bleeding. He fed Drannor’s sword with his blood here and there. The moment when he grabbed him a few moments ago when he was attacked by that massive block of earth…
“You noticed it too late…” Zaos said while making a vicious expression and then quickly approached, making his sword pierce Elisius’ heart as well.
Elisius vomited more blood, and then his body became like a masterclass puppet. Zaos wondered if the enemy was truly dead… while he couldn’t feel his presence, things proceeded way too well for his tastes.
“Is it over?” Drannor asked.
“Why do you have to jinx us so much?” Zaos asked.
Zaos was waiting for something to happen, but he wouldn’t pull his sword away until he was Absolutely sure. He also alerted Drannor to do the same. Maybe something similar happened in the past when the other wielders of the swords defeated the demon god. He used that chance to move his soul to that world and prevent his Absolute death.
“You two are really cautious… but that won’t be enough to stop me,” Elisius’ voice echoed in the area.
Zaos tried to look around and find Elisius, but he didn’t find anything. Instead, he saw numerous portals appearing around them. Zaos and Drannor could see the other side and their world. They saw thousands of humans fighting the enraged followers of the demon god and his friends fighting around that mountain against the enhanced demons. It seemed that the revival of the demon god made all those connected to him more powerful and madder.
Suddenly, all of them began to tremble and shout like they were in pain and the whole battle came to a halt since their screams were screams of agony… Everyone could see that they were suffering, and then when some dark mist began to leave their bodies, the soldiers and mercenaries also began to tremble and feel pain in every single part of their bodies. Eventually, the soldiers saw the portals while they followed the dark mist with their eyes. After crossing the portal, the dark mist began to be absorbed by Elisius’ body, and Zaos began to feel his presence again… getting even more powerful than before. When they saw his eyes opening again, Zaos and Drannor were forced to pull away from their swords since that wasn’t working…
They saw the wounds on Elisius’ body being healed near instantly. As if that wasn’t enough, his body began to grow at a fearsome pace. At first, Zaos thought that the enemy’s aura was fooling him, but that wasn’t the case… in the blink of an eye, Elisius became a four meters tall giant, and his growth didn’t stop there. However… he could only keep his original form for so long…
Elisius’ skin turned into a lifeless gray like he had lost all his blood, and it began to divide itself and turn into something kind of carapace of the same color. He lost all his black hair, and the shape of his skull became a lot more prominent than before, to the point that he looked like a skeleton. His eyes lost their original color and became completely red… it was almost as if Elisius had become like the monster of that world. Perhaps what he said about that world being their real home wasn’t a lie…
“Here it comes, the second and hopefully, the final form…” Zaos said.
“How can you keep your composure after seeing that?” Drannor asked while he clenched his teeth. “And what the hell are you talking about?”
Zaos had no idea either. It was just something he felt like saying… Nevertheless, the demon god finally was looking like an absolute demon with that appearance and that fearsome aura that had been powered by the dark emotions of his followers and demons. Using his remaining mana, Zaos summoned Ice Armor on Drannor. Things were too dangerous right now, and they couldn’t afford to fail. Instead of losing both of them, at least one had to survive in the worst-case scenario. Drannor was the best option because he had an larger army and the world’s people only heard good things about him. Above all else, he could use both arms, so he might be able to use Guardian’s Heart along with the king’s sword.
“What are you plotting…” Drannor asked.
“I am just preparing for all possible outcomes,” Zaos said.
While Drannor didn’t have much magic Resistance, he barely could feel the cold emitted by the armor. The ice armor increased his defense without decreasing his speed, so Drannor couldn’t have asked for more. Regardless, the demon god stopped growing when he became fifteen meters tall. Despite that, he could walk on the ocean of blood without having to rely on speed. His magic was still there, and he could do a lot more with it.
Instead of approaching, the demon god swung his right arm toward them, and Zaos felt something dangerous, even though he couldn’t see anything and the arm couldn’t possibly reach them. So, he raised his sword and blocked an invisible attack that sent him flying in the distance.
“What the hell…” Zaos muttered in pain when he collided against a pile of rubble.
His sword drained some mana and gave it to Zaos, so it became obvious that Elisius now could use mana directly like that to cause damage.. That was something shocking… to think that he could make a spiritual attack have an effect on the physical world without changing the nature of his mana… Zaos couldn’t even begin to understand what that was. For the first time in his new life, he began to sweat cold…
